If your active vehicle runs into your own team vehicle, you can choose for both of your vehicles to evade, doing 0 damage. Basically, resolve like you would a normal collision, but no damage is done.
Thanks for the battle report! There is a definite lack of Gaslands content on UA-cam! A couple of comments on the first smash attack in the game (starting around 17:30)... Different types of collisions deal different damage. A tailgate (smashing into the back of another vehicle) is the one where the defender's speed is subtracted from the attacker's. In a T-bone (like this) or a sideswipe, it's just the attacker's speed. And in a head-on collision, you add the speed of both vehicles. So you did it correctly here. However, one of the main points of using a Ram weapon is that the hazards for the collision are ignored if it happens during your activation, so Jay shouldn't have wiped out. Another little thing I noticed is that you were using spins to avoid collisions, which doesn't work. If you look at the Movement Step explanation in the rulebook or quick reference, in step 1.7, you move the vehicle to it "final position" using the template (with or without the slide template), which triggers a collision window while moving it. You only get to apply the spin (step 1.8) if you did not have a collision in step 1.7. So in other words, you don't get to spin if you had a collision during normal template movement.
One thing we do is also state all collisions in first gear phase at the start of the game must evade. 2nd gear phase the party is on!!! We call it Fender Bender. Really helps the start of a race. FYI: Page 28 wipeout. Follow these steps, You roll for flip check, then remove all hazards and drop to gear 1. For a tail gate you must be at the same gear as the car you are tailgating, or you both must evade. But that is a tbone so you did it right. Also, the vehicle with the ram pg 35 takes no hazards from the collision even with the smash back, the ram blocks it. Also when your truck rammed the buggy if either of you declares a smash you both take 2 hazards, unless the rammer has a ram. So your truck would have taken 2 and wiped out being at 6 hazards, unless you had a ram, which I don't think you did.
Love seeing you guys being professional strugglers!! We have a few games under our belt and still question a lot of what we seen you deal with ^_^ appreciate seeing the full report instead of just highlights
Also also about 20 minutes in when you smash attacked, you have a ram so you do not get hazards during the smash attack!! You guys are literally recreating our race lol
Thanks for the clarification guys. We'll get it figured out eventually. Stay tuned for more batreps. We love this game and will be playing it a lot more in the future.
Just so you guys know, 'SPIN' doesn't save you from colliding with stuff. I don't have my rulebook handy, but I've played enough to know; that you finish your movement and if you're touching anything else you result to a 'Collision'. If you both evade, then you only take one hazard each. You only 'spin' if you're not touching any other objects. When in doubt, result to the 'Rules of Carnage' (whatever results in the most Carnage)? Once you get a few more matches under your belts, your matches will speed up and you'll both have a better idea for future events. Thanks for sharing guys. Looking forward to seeing more. Print out the quick reference sheet for each of you to put near your sides to make it easier for you both, trust me when I say that it will help. 😉
Thanks for the input. We'll remember that the next time we film. We've got another batrep on the way that we filmed with this one so you may not see changes until a couple batreps from now but we appreciate the info. Thanks for watching.
Love your reports, great terrain and cars. Need more Gaslands content. Thanks for posting. GG. As for taking hazards, you guys take a lot of negative results. You keep taking spins and slides, you have to be careful when you drive.
It's the old pc game from back in the day. I have a lot of ancient relics like that. In fact we have a whole playlist for them if you wanna check that out.
Lol i know other gaslands channels have issues with the cars still being able to roll and that doesnt really bother me either way but basing anything other than fliers seems so overkill. That being said i have a BttF 2 delorian in flight mode so i may flight base it and call it a Martian car they shipped back to Earth.
Video is a little older at this point, so maybe not point in saying... But playing with sponsors could help you avoid the amount of spin-outs/flips you're getting as many of the sponsor perks give you tools to manage hazard tokens.
@@EncounterWargaming I have never played the game mind you, Im just trying to learn from more experienced people like you. So when a car wipes out, you do a flip check. if you fail then you move a medium straight which triggers a collision window. I guess the car made the flip check thats why you didnt move the car medium straight forward. All is good I guess, I just need a bit more time to get my head around the rules! :)
Again i don't know what i stance during the video this is in reference to but i believe if you pass the flip check youdon't flip. The movement you're referring to represents the flip. At least that's my understanding. If we played it wrong in this video my apologies. We were new to the game at this point as well.

Good to know. Thanks for the correction
Hey, no problem. I really love the races I've seen thusfar (2 of them + a paint/mod tutorial) Keep em coming when all this craziness is over.
Just discovering you guys. Wish I would’ve sooner! Good show. Great Battle Report. Nicely painted minis as well.

1:20:40 spin happens after the final position so the car would have collided with the junk pile if Im not mistaken.
Maybe. I must have not collided with it. Just got close.

18:44 - Gaslands Refuelled pg. 85 states that if you have a Ram, you do not gain Hazards as a result collision. However, your opponent does.

You guys are really knocking it out of the park too with all of this and I really hope this game takes off even more!!

Something to try out.... I played an APC with the crew fired Submachine gun weapon upgrade, the chaos was astounding.

Ya it was the first time we used the hazards with gearing up or down. Led to some wierd results. Thanks for watching and for the encouragement
Nice cars guys, just getting back into gaslands myself :-)
Not sure if it has been mentioned but wipe out happens at the end of the vehicles activation. After attacking.
I don't think that was mentioned but thanks for the clarification and thanks for watching.
Yo, is that Space Hulk on the shelves? I was excited for a Gaslands battle report, lost my mind when I saw that box.

Adam preferred to base his models while I (Jay) prefer to have mine still able to roll. To each his own.
And i seem to be just between those opinions. Lol

After the 1st car has crossed gate 1 and have his weapons activated wasnt he supposed to fire immediately with his weapons?
Where does it say you have to? Pretty sure you have a choice in the matter.
Should the Wiped out car go a medium straight before the lose control step?
Why is that? Maybe we made a mistake but i'm not clear on what you mean.
