    I'm only 16 but I have a dream. I'll leave my desert I live in, in Midwest America. And get married, have kids in the us. Never been out of the country but I will move down there and NEVER LEAVE THE ISLAND! Once I'm in Roatán, I'll never leave!

      When I was a teenager in Honduras , I remember how my town would worship the American tourists .. I remember that every time we would see an American walking by our house we would run to the front of the house just to wave at them and hear them say two words: “bye, bye” .. we felt so happy after that .. it’s still the same , my mom tells me . .. so I recommend you travel to Honduras when ever u are ready

      glennsteven 0917 thank you. It is bittersweet making these with all that’s going on in the world right now. I hope you all are staying safe too. Had we not got such a good price on flights at the end of January we would have went spring break and possibly been stuck there. Not the worst place to be but not while under quarantine. Stay safe as well. 💚

      @@SandGravityAdventures Thank you and I'm glad you are home and safe and I hope whenever this is over(hopefully soon)people will come back to the island or the country,because without tourism we will have it real bad here,the locals and all of the expats who have business here.
      Anyhow,thanks again.

      This may sound crazy, but I feel one day in the future, we could all have the possiblity to live in a
      Peaceful down to earth, laid back amazing place. Where we have no worries, shoes are optional and we hear the beach and birds and eat exotic food and just live in peace, they way we were intended 💕💚💕

      +Bat Man hey! We saw it and couldn’t figure out if it was open or not. Looks like a really cool place. Next time we will message and ask! We only had 7 days though so we couldn’t get to everything we wanted to try. Hopefully we can get back to Roatan soon and mark more off the list. COVID and now US entry restrictions has put a damper on travel though. 😢

    I would have liked to have had a better look at the names or signs of some of the shops you pointed out. But thanks for your video. Did you have any issues with the sand fleas/ flies that I have heard about?

    • @SandGravityAdventures
      @SandGravityAdventures  4 роки тому +2

      Trip Reviews Hello! This video was just for purposes of showing the walk. We did mention a few places but mostly it was just to show what it’s like walking down the road from Half Moon to West End. We do appreciate the feedback though!
      The only time we had an issue with sand fleas was actually during shooting this video at the end. Sand fleas usually show up more around dusk on the beach. So we tried to stay off the beach around dusk.

    • @TripReviews
      @TripReviews 4 роки тому +1

      Sand Gravity Adventures hi, yes that is what I have heard at dusk or dawn they are bad. I kind of wonder if they are as bad as I’ve read about them or if they are any worse then the clouds of mosquitos and black flies I’ve encountered while on fishing trips into the Canadian backwoods! Flies and mosquitos that will bite right through denim! I did enjoy the video of your walk, it was very interesting. I have had 2 visits to Roatan while on cruises. First time we took a private tour with Ronys tours the second time we just stayed in the cruise port “compound” some day we’ll take a trip to Roatan itself. Cheers! 🍻🥂

    • @SandGravityAdventures

      Trip Reviews We visited the Caribbean 3 times per year before COVID. Not on a cruise though. We always stay a week at a time. I hope it gets back to normal soon. 😭
      But it’s all just depending on how much rain and humidity as to how bad the bugs will be. We were literally eat up by mosquitoes in St. John in 2017. We couldn’t even walk to and from the car anywhere without swarms on us. Not even Deet was keeping them away. It was right after the island being dry for a couple of months then rain the week before came in. Hope you get to go and stay on Roatan for an extended stay and enjoy the beauty when they let visitors in!

    Hi. Haven't visited yet, but Roatan or Utila is being considered as a retirement destination for my wife and I. If you could share, just wondering what the people are like down there?

    • @SandGravityAdventures
      @SandGravityAdventures  4 роки тому

      +Eric Rafdal I have not been to Utila, but I know it’s smaller and more quaint than Roatán. It’s an area that is very dive oriented.
      The people in Roatan are wonderful and welcoming. Both expats and locals.
      I do know the closure since COVID has really put a strain on the economy and livelihoods though. I hope they bounce back quickly. There is a Facebook group called Roatan Discussion Group. It’s made up of many expats and locals so you may find better answers there as far as making a permanent move!
      We are still trying to find the place in the Caribbean we want to move to in a few years.

    Thx for the video, it was nice to see a great place to look into visiting/moving to. I have a question about the sign I saw with prices on it for food and drinks, was that in USD or their currency? Thank you!!

    • @SandGravityAdventures
      @SandGravityAdventures  4 роки тому +2

      Rick Upleger Many places have it in USD and lempiras. If it’s in lemps, it will usually have an L beside it. Also if you pay in lempiras, you usually get a better deal so both times we have been to Roatan we exchanged USD for lempiras before we left.

    • @SandGravityAdventures

      +Reglisse42 Honduras mainland I would not consider safe.
      As with anywhere (even places in your hometown) - always take some precautions no matter where you are. No place is ever 100% safe. But yes, generally speaking Roatan is pretty safe. Have fun!
