This is the first time Ive seen Sideshow hands down beat XM. XM won on Venom by far for me (Love the bust, love the big guy), but Sideshow slammed through on Thanos EASILY!
I would say this piece is fantastic in every way! One of the best statues of 2018. XM hands down has the best packaging still. SS should of at least gone all out and doing something special for the packaging. I would say this will be my best piece until when I get XM studios Hulkbuster
This looks amazing! I would have preferred Thanos to have been sitting back in his throne with his hands on the armrests though. Just kind of lounging. Think that would have looked better imo.

I was still buying pieces and keeping them in the apartment, then boxing them back up. This is by far the most dedicated space I’ve ever had for a man cave. Since you from Texas here at Htwn got mines today and is simply amazing can’t stop looking at it. Paint/sculpt/portraits came out perfect just missing one piece on his chest. Supposed to have 4 gold parts from chest to waist. Should be fixable waiting on SS response. Also have the XM Thanos and love it as well but SS Maquette is just to amazing Statue of the year. Congrats
Gem Mint Collectibles the sculpt on my Thanos is great I definitely don’t want a new body and take the risk that one comes out with issues. I just need that one piece so I can just attach myself looks like it’s not a hassle to fix.

Beautiful man! Should've put my pre order in 😣. But for some reason when you was putting on the arm tests sounded like the material from figures that came with collectors editions from video games 🤔 for some reason I expected the pieces to have some nice weight to it. But looks sick nonetheless
You've answered my questions before and I was hoping you might do again. I'm currently negotiating with someone with a view to purchase their boxed Collector's edition Thanos. The item is No 900 out of 3500. I've heard horror stories about the quality control issues on some of the earlier statues and wanted to know your opinion. Do you think the issues would have been resolved by the time they got to 900 or whether you think it could still be affected. As always, all comment are greatly appreciated.
the only issues ive really seen was that leg breakage...as long as its not broken you should be good....im not sure what edition size numbers would be 1st batch, 2nd, etc
I don't think I'll ever collect statutes. I'm more of a action figure collector with the biggest I'll go is like 14 inches. That being said I do admire the art and designs of the statues love watching you set them up and review them. My favorite has the to be the Juggernaut one with Kat. That one looked awesome

It's really interesting for me since I only recently discovered GEM Mint Collectibles so I'm going back and watching older videos so when I watch this one I have the knowledge that in the future you sold the seated Thanos (I think you did), so it puts a piece of finality to the piece. I absolutely love the SideShow Thanos. Can't wait for your unboxing of Thanos with Lady Death Statue when you get it. Absolutely love how you hit on the details such as the bio-organic-tech similar to Alien (that art was developed by an epic painter, H.R.Giger - check his work out!). The dark blue paint on the SideShow Thanos is breathtaking!
I totally agree with your comparison opinion. I am so glad i did not pick up that XM Thanos. Would have been serious buyers remorse. I understand the XM is more comic accurate,.. but only in costume DESIGN. The colors are off,.. and seriously when did Thanos ever have the Gauntlet AND the Cosmic Cube. Both have liberties taken with them. I am just so glad i was able to secure the SS Thanos. It was expensive as hell.. especially for this poor boy. But as long as it arrives in good condition. It would have been worth it. And he will be the crowning jewel of my collection
Did you buy your piece directly from XM Studio or a third party seller? Because when I tried to buy a Marvel piece from them, I was told that they do not ship to the U.S. because of a licensing contractual agreement. Assuming you live in the States.

The seller advertised that it was the exclusive edition, but when I received it, it was the collectors edition. Then to top it off... Thanos right leg was cracked right above his knee cap! So the first is issue number three graded at a 4.0 sign by Stan Lee and the second is issue number 101 graded at 5.5 signed by Stan Lee. I know Stan wrote issue 3 whereas he didn’t write issue 101, so should I get issue 3? Please give me your take.
Antonio Perez without looking it up, I’m sure 3 is much more valuable. It’s a silver Age key signed by Stan who wrote the story, it’s the better book. Doc is arguable one of spidey’s biggest villains, much more so than Morbius.

I'm tossing around the idea of buying this as my first (and easily most significant) Sideshow statue, because I've been following their work for years and now have the means to buy such a piece. The non-exclusive version comes out this month with a limited number of 3500, so obviously it doesn't include that alternate head. Do you, or any other viewers who own this statue, think it would still be worth the huge $1200 investment? As a collector at heart I can't decide.
i wouldnt look at it as an investment. At 3500 ES, it probably wont sell for more down the line. If you have the means and love the character and the piece, buy it for you.
I think I've decided to go for the gorgeous Iron Man Mark III maquette coming out later this year because it's less expensive and I am personally a huge fan of Iron Man as a character. Thanks for the reply though, I haven't made any final decisions yet.
