    I'm not a big "simulator" player, but occasionally just chilling with a round of Derail Valley (one of the many train simulators of course) is, well, relaxing. And at least not like I can actually drive a train irl, so not the "job after the job" vibe for me, at least.

    Im not gonna lie, this video felt like you sorted the list in steam by popular simulators and made a video about it.
    I also didn't feel that a sponsor counts because I've never known anyone to be honest about their sponsors, not...1.
    It's like if EA sponsored you to talk about sims, it would be nice to feel like the review is from your experience, instead i couldve went on steam myself to see how positive the reviews are.
    Constructively I mean to say I would like to see a list of simulators that you played yourself and to see what you feel and think about the game.
    I actually really like your content, I'm new to it, and I'm gonna sub and I really appreciate how hard you must work on your videos, I look forward to binge watching your videos which I hope has more simulators!

    • @GamerZakh
      @GamerZakh  12 днів тому +1

      Thanks for your honesty. I can point out a few things but you can take them as you like. If you sort the list on Steam by popular simulators, you wouldn't get this list. You can always try it, see what you get. For example, if I go to 'New & Trending' I get Fast Food Sim, Rocksmith 2014 Remastered, MiSide, Farming Sim 25, NBA 2K25, Flight Sim 24, OHV, Kaiju Princess 2, Planet Coaster 2, Taiwan Love Story...
      Yeah some of the games I listed here are there but Steam's curation is way broader and seemingly random. I have much stricter definitions of genres to keep things cleaner as I don't think anyone looking for simulation games are expecting to find the 'Physchological Horror', 'Cute', and 'Story Rich' game... MiSide.
      As for the sponsor, you don't think it counts because it's sponsored but whether you think it's honest or not, the way I accept sponsors for list videos is that I only accept games that I had on my curation already anyway. The sponsorship is for position on the list, timing of publishing the video, and they can ask for a few key points to be mentioned. You can not believe the content of what I say and all that, but this sponsor is a realistic simulator game that has good Steam reviews and a solid playerbase. It fits the curation set for this video and if you think something is inconsistent point that out. Does the inclusion or exclusion of another game contradict with the sponsor's inclusion? That would be a problem and mistake on my part because that is something specific I work on.
      As for my personal experience with the games for review purposes, that's just impossible. I listed 500 games through 2024. Five hundred. I'm 1 person. I don't even have an editor. I play what I can but I can't meaningfully play 2 games every day and still do my job. I do however have 13 years of content creation experience and I have worked in the game design industry. I was trained in interactive media and spend a lot of time analysing and studying. I also worked for years as a school teacher. I bring what I have to the table and after making these lists for over a decade many seem to find my insights useful, but I keep trying to be better. I consistently make accurate predictions, communicate what most people need to know to make decisions, and these lists talk about each game for like 2 minutes. These aren't meant to be reviews, but to share select picks that a lot of people can't find or keep up with because of the thousands of games being made.

    • @Kitanaoren
      @Kitanaoren 12 днів тому

      @GamerZakh I see, so my mistake was in believing that when you say top 25 for example, is that you meant top 25 by personal experience.
      Like if I give the top food places as like McDonald's, Burger King, chick fil a, Hardee's and IHOP yet I hadn't actually eaten at these places then the viewer doesn't understand by what standards were these the best simulators, and it's the standards that was missing or that I didn't see.
      I was simply curious why these were considered top for you, what you liked about them.
      I'm sorry if you felt I was judging your work or questioning your qualifications on the matter, definitely not my intention.
      You also bring about good points, again as a first time viewer this was just my opinion on what I saw, some content creators offer for us to share below how we felt about the video and so I was doing that.

    • @GamerZakh
      @GamerZakh  12 днів тому

      @@Kitanaoren Oh that's not your mistake, it's my job to communicate so if the message wasn't delivered it's my job to communicate better. You sharing honest thoughts and feelings is useful and it goes into future videos I make. For the criteria when it comes to curating these videos, I have varying personal experience with the games. Some games I've played a lot, some just a bit, but these lists are meant to be comprehensive so being objective I have to include many games I don't personally enjoy myself. That doesn't mean they're bad games, everyone has preferences, so I try to treat every game I list with the same level of scrutiny and detail.
      All sorts of things go into determining 'best' when I do a 'best of' list. Steam review percentage is a factor on player consensus. Along with the difference between total and recent review percentage. Concurrent players in the past month is also a consideration, as a game might've been a viral hit but has since died. I also check comments, opinions, and thoughts from varying platforms about the game to understand varying perspectives. Developer updates and official communication give away a lot. Then I can personally assess visuals whether I have play time with the game or not, as I have plenty of experience and skills regarding visual communication, design, and art. Game design is something that I can assess with minimal time as the fundamentals and gameplay loop can be extrapolated quickly if you're experienced enough.
      I've made countless mistakes and wrong assessments over the last decade of making these lists and each one tweaks things in the next list, so to list them all out would be an impossibly long list. After so long talking about so many games and discussing them through thousands of comments, at this point really you could boil it all down into a 'pile of vibes' when I talk about a game haha. But it's a reduction of so much stuff and if you pick out any specific thing I say I could expand a sentence into an essay as to why I said that.
      The main problem is there is an impossible amount of information to communicate for every game, not to mention the premise and context of the video itself, and to communicate everything leads to people complaining about me talking too much but to communicate too little leads people to complain about me not saying enough. Finding that fine line is not just practically impossible, but where that line is changes with every audience, every genre, and every year as viewer preferences shift over time, so it's a constant tug of war between how much I should be explaining and breaking down with how much I should be summarising and wrapping up.
      As you can see with my writing, I personally like to go on lol, but a balancing act is required for the video itself.

      @@GamerZakh Actually it's refreshing that youre so professional about all this with still a very down to earth approach and explanation!
      I also take the responsibility that before posting my comment I should have went through your videos a bit just to get more information on your direction and get to know specifically you, as I scroll through the comments youre beloved in this community and as I go through your older videos I can see why.

      Because we feel obsolete, we know we're training our replacement and there's nothing we can do about it, because one day there won't be a human making your burger, no love will be put into the finer details of human to human connection.
      But also it's good to feel useful, we wear so many masks in life, especially at work or in social situations, so there's games where you can do the same thing you'd do in real life, or things you never got to do in real life, and the difference is you can do these things as yourself and not the mask
      And lastly some just enjoy it because its mundane, peaceful and fun.
