I am 77 years old, believed in Jesus since a little girl and this series has blessed me more than I can say.....please don't miss all of the precious messages because God works in wondrous ways to save the lost and broken-hearted.😊
I am also blessed by this series and so encouraged by your 77 years of faith and growing!❤ many in history have written about their experiences with Jesus. This series gives me an insight of what it may have been like for the disciples.
@@sherrihandley6624 _"...many in history have written about their experiences with Jesus."_ Excuse me? Are you asserting that people are hearing voices from god?
I'm glad John the Baptizer asked the question. Many were thinking it. "Are you The One?" "Are you the Christ we have been praying for?" And Jesus hit the answer on the head. "Go, tell him what you have seen and heard." In other words, "Let my words and deeds answer his question." It's that obvious. I love The Chosen! It is so well done. But I love the Word of God more.
Shall it REALLY be that obvious, given the context of the bible claiming Jesus sent his power into Jesus' disciples? It seems to me that it *could* be viewable by a rational person, or at least VERY AVERAGE PERSON that uses A Power Basis [and Image Below], that the ONE PERSON MESSIAH could *erphas* JUST AS WELL (Or "Better"?!) be as a DIFFERENT *one* , or MIGHT AS WELL BE any two or more of FULL DISCIPLESHIP. Thus, leading Openly and Honestly to the painful Truth of Question: "Whose the Messiah?," And perhaps => "How to judge, determine messiahship." : Yes there are cautions about this (Judging Jesus and all.... Note: I wish to state that it is NOT a healthy belief, in my opinion, that POWER should be a basis for in believing that Jesus is Jesus. I feel it should be CHARACTER that counts! ..... I say this because John (Ian in Nordic countries) is argueably Jesus-ionic (Note use of -ionic, suffix-able to "Mess-ionic"; [Del] I(C)onic, I(R)onic]. ___On Christ-Ian___ Chrit-Ian can be taken to be a declaration of Ian, meaning John, as The Christ or Chryst (For Chryst, the Spirit, contains the body of a Human, if I am not mistaken in Spirituality). Talk about your Coded Systems.... Also, I believe Ian, John, IS taken Christian. Meaning, he is self-declared as such. :Possibly Related: The Mary Magdaline Figure swears (For Better or For Worse) to be a Christian (The notorius... cited profession concept... noted for deep psychology of ... "wilingness to serve men" to put it ina CLEAR way. She is also cited to have dried Jesus' feet with her hair, in what I am sure was an akward situtation)
I know some people have taken an issue with the fact that they've decided to depict this moment in scripture in a way that makes John the Baptist a doubter in his belief in Christ. But honestly, it makes sense, especially given his situation. And I like how they've established in this show that John isn't the ONLY member of the family questioning about Jesus.
This scene is a powerful one, explaining Who Jesus is, in which He is still there for each and everyone. God is really using this series, The Chosen, to point everyone to read the Bible even more in order to know more about Jesus! Praise the Lord!
I believe God used passion of christ better than this series. I still can't get behind the fact that they allowed lgbtq flags to be shown when doing behind the scenes. The only thing I saw accurate of this series is the parables.
@@danielpickrell8311 Why is that? Do you think their sin is greater than yours? If He can save murderers, adulterers, fornicators, drug addicts, liars, etc., what makes you think He can't save someone from the lgbtq group? They are people, too, and we all missed the mark. We once lived in darkness. Pray they see the Light in you. Be blessed!!!

I would LOVE a John the Baptist biopic. He’s so neglected by many modern Christians and yet SO important and his story is absolutely incredibly moving.
My FAVORITE “Jesus” series of ALL times-so well done; the actors click and make everything work! BEST series on the life of Christ: great episode choices-Dallas Jenkins is BRILLIANT and truly knows how to get the most out of his actors!❤
John is not rejected he fulfilled his purpose he made a path for the lord. John was very important and very well respected amongst Christian’s. We love John. We just don’t speak on him that much as he came in the time of Jesus does not make him easily forgettable but I mean we are talking about the coming of God here 🤣. John is very well respected.
The Chosen has SURPASSED my expectations in it being “ just another Jesus show”. It is BY FAR a wonderful depiction of the relationships and interactions of “ the chosen” people God loves so much that were in and around Jesus’ life and ministry. God Bless you Dallas and the whole entire crew of this spectacular, application of true relatable content to help us grow closer to The Body of Christ. Thank you.
The Chosen is nice but it's nothing compared to "the Gospel as it was revealed to me " by Maria Valtorta . You will learn everything about Jesus and Mary in their daily lifeand so much more . It's so beautiful . A life changing book .
The way Jesus measures every word while exercising patience in the face of such a mean spirited, stiff necked person humbles me every single time. Makes me want to be more like Him in every single way. I also love how this scene places us right in the middle of a scenario. Letting us feel like what it must've been like to be there.
I stand t be corrected but the scriptures say HE wasn't measuring HIS Words like a politician or debater, The Holy Spirit guided HIM and gave HIM the exact Words to say...

Makes me want to be more like Him in every single way."_ Have you told your mother that you hate her and have you abandoned all of your possessions as your savior has commanded you to do? Jesus will only grant you everlasting life if you hate your mother, abandon your family, and give up all of your possessions- Luke 14:26-27 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters - yes, even his own life - he cannot be my disciple." Matthew 10:34-37 "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law - a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household." Luke 14:33 “…therefore, none of you can become my disciple if you do not give up all your possessions." Jesus wants anyone who doesn’t want to be ruled by him to be slain in front of him: Luke 19:27 "Those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them, bring them here and kill them in front of me." Jesus' sheep who gave up their lives and families to follow their cult leader must say they are worthless slaves: Luke 17:10 "So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty." Jesus calls non-Jews "dogs": Matthew 15:21-28 "It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs." Jesus also says disobedient children must be killed as required by Old Testament law: Mark 7:9-10 "And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition! For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’, and ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’" (See Ex 21:15, Lev 20:9, Dt 21:18-21) Matthew 5:40 Do not defend yourself in court- "And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well." Cannibalism is an integral part of Christianity. John 6:53 "Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever gnaws my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a difficult and harsh and offensive statement. Who can accept it?" From this time, many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him." Jesus approves of slavery too- Matthew 8:5 "When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. “Lord,” he said, my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?” The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed." Jesus' parables approving of slavery and beating slaves. Luke 12:46-47 "The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes." Luke 17:7-9 "But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat? And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink? Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not."
This is so very powerful in presenting Jesus in a way that lets us understand how patient he was towards those he so desperately desired to reach. It’s heart wrenching.
@@garyandtricia1 If you have evidence that the Bible figure known as Jesus existed, provide it. However, it is an absolute fact that there is literally no contemporaneous evidence that Jesus ever existed. Paul made up the Jesus fiction in 48 AD after the Daniel 9:25 prophesy failed to fulfill. Shouldn't we expect that if God was walking around town for thirty years that the locals would have noticed? Fun fact: none of the Gospel authors witnessed Jesus.
@@garyandtricia1 The only Bible author who claimed to have seen Jesus is Paul who asserted that he met him in a vision and described Jesus as being only a bright light. Paul actually stated that his sources were non-human, "...the gospel I preached is not of human origin." (Galatians 1:11-12). Paul further asserted that Jesus selected him alone to speak for him (Acts 9:15): "Paul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings as well as to the people of Israel." In Romans 1:16 Paul reveals that no other gospels existed at the time, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ." The Jesus story began in 48 AD with the first of the Pauline Epistles (which comprise nearly half of the New Testament books) when Paul realized the Daniel 9:25 prophesy of a messiah expired without fulfilling so he made one up decades later and set the story decades in the past matching Jewish expectations of the messiah to make the prophesy seem true. The fulfillment of the Daniel 9:25 prophecy written in 444 BC was the test of the true messiah. By 48 AD it was known that the prophecy of a messiah coming in "seven weeks and threescore and two weeks" had not occurred on the prophesied date. It was the 69th Week and the 70th Week was soon to come. The prophesied messiah was expected and the anticipation set off a messiah craze. "Seven weeks and threescore and two weeks" is, 7 plus 60 plus 2 equals 69 total weeks. One prophetic week equals seven biblical years of 360 days (the Julian calendar was created centuries later), so 7 times 69 equals 483 total biblical years beginning with Artaxerxes' decree in 444 BC. Those 483 biblical years equal 173,880 days, or 476 Julian years. Therefore the Messiah would come and be "cut off" in AD 33. One prophetic week equaling seven Biblical years is something “Daniel” invented in about 165 BC, effectively an admission that Jeremiah 25:11-12 failed. Paul made up the entire Jesus story and added historical figures, locations, and events to add authenticity. In the Galatians "road to Damascus" conversion vision tale written in 48 AD he claimed to have gone to the Arabian desert to study the Old Testament for 17 years to align with the Daniel 9:25 prophecy. Paul's goal was to garner support for the insurrection against the Romans which began in 46 AD led by two brothers, Jacob and Simon, in the Judea province. The revolt, mainly in the Galilee, began as sporadic insurgency until it climaxed in 48 AD when it was quickly put down by Roman authorities. Both Simon and Jacob were executed. He created the fiction of having witnessed the risen messiah. He wanted to show that the messiah had come as prophesied but was murdered by the Romans. This was to entice the Gentiles to aid in the Jews' rebellion against the Romans.
@@EvilXtianity Using the word fact when it isn't, doesn't change the fact. The evidence of Jesus existence is overwhelming, you actually have to work hard to think it isn't.
These scenes where Jesus has long dialogues never cease to amaze and always bring me back to the Word. I tend to rewind and watch these multiple times. So nuanced and powerful. 🙌🏻✨📖
In this scene the disciples of John seem to be a bit apprehensive about what Jesus will say to the Baptizer. They even mention how long John has been in prison. I had never thought about that. May God's joy be with you ( and me ).

And note that, even after that Pharisee was denouncing and accusing Jesus, he looked that "spiritual leader" straight on and implored him, "Do not miss it." As in the parable typically called the Prodigal Son: It should be the parable of the Forgiving Father. Yes, when his wayward came home, the father blessed and regaled him. Then the brother who had never strayed and had "been faithful" )as the Pharisees to the Law) and so he needed to be forgiven by their father for his blindness and hardness. In that manner, Christ was not defying but reaching out to the Pharisees and Sadducees also, desiring them to accept he for whom they had hoped.
This show has made me want to renew my faith and start going back to church. I went as a child but as a adult strayed away, always stayed a believer but God wasn’t my first priority. This show has inspired me to share it with others and get excited about how truly lucky we are to have God in our life’s, and the love he has for all of us if we just let him in. Talk to him he is always listening. My husband has had a very hard few years with many medical issues, I have been trying to explain that we can all keep praying for him but if he doesn’t deep believe God is the only one that can heal him and if he doesn’t then he has a different plan which may be hard to accept but he must continue to give his life to Jesus. I got him to start watching the show and have seen the change in his faith. It’s been incredible to watch his heart and soul change. Great work your all doing and it’s amazing how many people are watching and how it’s spreading it gives you goose bumps and when you can visually see what you have read in the Bible but didn’t really grasp the full meaning of the gospel, it so helps you relate. John is now who I visualize in my prayers and has helped me feel that I am actually talking to someone. You couldn’t have found a better actor for this role. He is wonderful and moves you to wanting to please Jesus. The entire cast is perfect. Thank you Dallas for bringing the Bible to real life. It’s crucial in todays world. We are in a war of Gods vs Evil. We all need to fight to win. Even the government is trying to take our rights away in schools to worship the Lord. We must fight back and keep spreading the word. Go is our savory and holly ghost. Praise The Chosen to help enlighten the world “God is with you always, good and bad times never stop believing in him”.. God bless you, the cast & crew for you dedication and hard work. Amen.
and turning away from him isn't due to non belief but that he didn't believe in me either there for never believe that my father and devine family would still forgive after the fact is not for me to be but if god can't I have nothing to say further more that is unforgivable to me but god won't dispute how I see it I promise
Hi Dear Christy a letter for you below: Allah (God) says (Quran: 5:14) And from those who say, "We are Christians" We took their covenant; but they forgot a portion of that of which they were reminded. So We caused among them animosity and hatred until the Day of Resurrection. And Allah is going to inform them about what they used to do. (Quran: 5:15) O People of the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger making clear to you much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture and overlooking much. There has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book (i.e. the Quran). [note: the religious power group has historically been modifying/corrupting the Bible or teachings of Moses & Jesus, to the point that there is no pure teaching exists of these two great messengers.) (Quran: 5:19) O People of the Scripture (Jews & Christians), there has come to you Our Messenger (Muhammad) to make clear to you [the religion] after a period [of suspension] of messengers (after Moses & Jesus), lest you say, "There came not to us any bringer of good tidings or a warner." But there has come to you a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And Allah is over all things competent. {Note: after Moses & Jesus who were messengers of Allah, the Jews and Christians changed the scriptures and corrupted it. So Allah sent the final messenger i.e Muhammad to clarify belief in one God. The Quran is the word of God (Allah). Allah is the God of all universe and human beings. Jesus is a human being and a messenger of God(Allah). }
my guess is, John’s disciples were asking John those same questions, and so he sent them to ask Jesus and see Him in action. A teaching moment. Even Simon Peter was excited for them to see and learn.

John the Baptist never once doubted in Jesus😇. I'm still surprised people don't pay close attention to that. He was directing his apostles to ask Jesus if he was the one because he wanted them, to know for him, for themselves. He wanted them to be able to identify him with their own eyes and hearts.
@@sebastiancooper7792 Yes😊. But the difference in "telling" someone something vs being a personal witness is where the difference is. We can tell people all the time that Jesus is real but they'll never be convinced until they have had their own witness by feeling the spirit, witnessing a miracle, being aware with their own eyes and hearts what Christ does for us on a daily basis. John wanted his apostles to know for themselves and not just go off the words from his mouth. Hope that makes sense😇😊🙏
There are so many powerful scenes in every episode, but I never tire of hearing him tell the pharisee," It does't matter what is put in front of you, you would reject it" Jonathan Roomie delivers that message with passion and power that is so moving.
There are many, many people today, just like the stubborn and arrogant Pharisees of old who reject knowledge and wisdom because their minds have been brainwashed to believe false tales and misinformation for so long that they balk at any information that is actual truth but contrary to their beliefs. It's so sad. They don't have the true power of the holy spirit guiding them through life and are spiritually bankrupt. Their ignorance and arrogance betrays their own soul.
'The Chosen' is head and shoulders the greatest show on television. Its growth is like a large pot of stew on simmer. Thousands of little bubbles adding to the great brew. No snapshot in time can do it justice, because there will be thousands of little bubbles in front of it yet to come, and for a very long time.
I smiled at your likening the growing popularity to a simmering pot of stew. I live alone. Yes, most of my meals are "prepared, packaged" foods. The reason is I have a hard time cooking for one. I'll have a plan for a small stew or such to make up a couple of meals. AND by the time I get done adding in larger quantities of each ingredient, I've got a 5 quart pot FILLED that is hard to get used up in time! Your comparison struck me with the growth of the stew by gaining being like the growth of interest to acceptance!
I absolutely love when Christ spoke in parables. He did so to weed out the true believers against the fake ones. because the ones who truly believed, understood the meaning behind the parables, immediately. God is good all the time...
The Chosen is so powerful for the end times we are living in.For me it has showed how approachable Jesus was when He was in human flesh. When I think of heaven and the sacred holiness of God and Jesus,I am limited because I can't imagine, one day all will happen but I praise God for The Chosen, especially in these last days. Shalom
I haven't seen the rest of 2 yet, but this series means so much to me. I tell everyone about it. Jesus has always been my favorite everything. As a kid He was like my superhero. As an adult, I call Him THE SUPERHERO. To hear His words come to life makes me weep and filled with so much warmth. Been having a bad few days. He keeps sending me signs to let me know He's got it all under control. Now I just need to put my anger down and let Him do His thing. We are so impatient. We act as if it isn't done in that very moment that He isn't answering, but He doesn't go by our time. He does things in His.
Your coment made me recall a quip I thought of: The CW agreed to carry and air The Chosen because with the Flash having wrapped up they knew they need a superhero.

@zebrachair2264 This show is not promoting a religion period. The show is based on the gospels and history but also doesn't claim to be 100% accurate because that would be impossible. The Chosen does not replace the Bible. As stated plenty of times, the creator of the show Dallas Jenkins is an Evangelical Christian but everyone involved in the show are all different faiths and backgrounds. He has also been very vocal about renting the LDS (Mormon) movie set. The actor that plays Jesus, Jonathan Roumie was baptized Greek Orthodox but converted to Catholicism. As for speaking and praying to the dead, that's from a movie he was in. So that is where that internet BS and gossip was drummed up.
I haven’t been to church in a minute, I haven’t read a full bible chapter ever. But watching clips and snippets of this show just makes me more and more interested in finding more
Very moving. Everyone should be permitted their experience of doubt - a concept of a new Messenger goes beyond the parameters of belief. He is not who we expect, he does not fulfill older prophecies or the designs of our minds. I am learning so much about Jesus here. As a student of the New Message from God, coming to recognize a new Messenger, I resonate deeply with what I see in this series - the risks, the joys and anxieties. Every messenger has faced trials, as have their early followers.
This is such good cinematography. I love the occassional cuts to the outer crowd, with Romans on horseback, circling like sharks. A constant foreshadowing

Everybody loves a Jesus that requires little or nothing to follow Him. But that's not the true Jesus, Who clearly stated that anyone who doesn't deny Himself, take up his cross and follow Him is not worthy of Him. Bless you Friend. Looks like we have some atheist trolls in the comments. They love visiting Christian forums for the personal "entertainment" of upsetting Christians & getting into endless arguments - then they go back to their own forums & share what the "dumb Christians" said this time. I've been using the Internet since 1997 & can verify this has been going on since the beginning. Nowadays some of it is even automated (bots), which is why you see the same pre-programmed answers over & over & now with CHATGPT they can post the same info with variations so it looks like a real live human wrote it. The only way to shut them down is to refuse to talk to them. Bless you. I know it's frustrating to read the foolish/provocative things they say, but that's how they draw you in to waste your time. 🙏🤍🕊
"I'm pretty sure He's God, and I'm 100% sure He just winked at me". - What I imagine John's followers were thinking when Jesus was encouraging them to ask their questions, lol!! Also, I don't know why but Jairus pretending to count the crowd at the end to get everyone to peacefully disperse just melted my heart!! 😍😍😂😂
This scene was powerful. I read through the gospels more than once, but previously missed that John the baptist - the one who prepared the way - lost faith while imprisoned. And that Jesus praises a man who is doubting.
@@zebrachair2264 Matthew 11 (Also: quick clarification, "lost faith" did not mean John the Baptizer became an atheist, it means he had to ask if Jesus is The One, while previously proclaiming that message.)

To watch the episodes inspired me to play scenes together with others. Just for the experience to dive deeper into the story. Thank you for your service. 💚
Got to say one more thing… Let’s pray for the skeptics please. I pray that Jesus opens the eyes, and the hearts of people who do not know Him. I pray the people with preconceived notions, let go and open up their hearts and minds, and watch this with no negativities. I am so grateful that I have fallen in love with Jesus and there’s so many others that have, including Jonathan and Dallas and the others who bring him to us visually. Sort of like this scene because these were unbelievers, and they were hard hearted and built up walls and blocked Jesus from their hearts. I wish that people would realize the joy and the beauty they get when they trust in Jesus. 🙏🙏🙏
I loved this moment for Ze. Seeing him accept his true role as a follower of Jesus by abandoning his violent ways, and helping bring his past brothers to the same realization was so powerful.
I love that also. He didn't say anything to excuse or defend John cause he was right about them from the beginning. And he didn't tell the man he wasn't a viper just cause his wounded ego needed to hear it. It was: "Yeah, he sure did say that."
My favourite scene was the foreshadowing of Matthew's death. This series is such a blessing but also so painful to watch because we all know very well what would happen to 11 of them.
Some say Matthew was executed by the Sanhedrin, others say he was killed by a King's bodyguard in a church in Ethiopia. Which one are you talking about?
Having had watched The Chosen & rewatched it, I crave knowing God more deeply. Thank you to all for this amazing blessing to everyone who see's & worked on it.

Maybe as a means to deflect from answering the question... Do you read the Bible? Who's the accuser in the Bible? So why are you accusing me?
Well, like everyone else in Israel, not named Isaiah, he didn't yet understand what the Messiah was there to do. Wasn't a matter of being wrong. It was a matter of lacking information.
It is wonderful that so many love this show. How much more wonderful it would be if we who love it would share it with those who have not seen it! We would bring many to repentance and inspire them to read the scriptures and see for themselves!
I too am looking forward to the completion of Judgment. For, it shall be wonderfull for us, for those who remain. But, I think we're focusing on Happy Jesus, for now. It's interesting the scene where Jesus walks by a man on the cross, , , In this early part of the show, I feel in his face it isn't countenanced any sort of premonition (Some may deem need for use term "Prophecy" here, but I consider this incredibly arguable) of what is commonly deemed Jesus as Jesus biblical crucifiction. . . But I wonder how bad things will become for Jesus (In show series, in a person's life...) whilst becomming A Deeper Jesus(from a "self" and first person perspective) , concerning Judgments (stated most broadly). For, I *FEEL* like the Jesus Story is ABOUT Jesus being all... you know.... : Compassion and general abstaining from judgments (Read therefore as in any concepts of Permanance including potential permanance) till they (JUDGMENTS) are ultimately neccessitated. .. I'm "guessing" Jesus has to go all "capitol 'J' here... " Get what I mean...? [Spell J-udgments] What a story of transformation...! . . . I hear it'll be "Of Biblical Proportions..." ...! ... | I interchange Spirit and Flesh so we can Track an Idea," here..
This series has been fantastic since day one. This trailer shows that integrity and accuracy continue to be maintained. This is extremely important to me and must be as well for any viewers telling the story and the gospel of Christ!
Can anyone imagine being baptized by John? I would have loved to been one of his followers during the day of Jesus preaching but now im allowed to do this because of him being crucified for all of us sinners, an one day i wish to be at his feet an praising him through eternity 🙏
I loved this video. It is so sad to know that some people don't believe in Jesus. I believe in God. He sent his one and only son to die on the cross for my sins. Thank you Jesus for shedding your precious blood for my sins.❤❤😊

I love how The Chosen has put us in the midst of Jesus ministry and the campaign he was moving in his time and how difficult his job was given the constant expectations of what a Messiah is to the people of Israel, The Pharisees, The Romans and even the Disciples and John the Baptist and his disciples..and how easy it was to be considered even a sorcerer..or everything but..The Messiah..Jesus walked a very thin line and this has given me a new appreciation for Jesus - My Messiah and One True King. Thank you Father 😔🤚🏾
2:27 i LOVE how it immediately cuts to Gaius when asked about if Jesus will start overthrowing Rome at the Decapolis. He's like, "Wait what? What do you mean by THAT?!"
6:34 I didn't know until watching the show that Jesus was quoting Aesop's Fables with this. It's a great detail, like Paul quoting Greek philosophers in his Areopagus speech.
It was a neat detail for the show, but I'm not sure Jesus was really quoting anything at the time. The Aesop's fable would be "The fisherman and his pipe," if you want to compare it. Still, it was a fun bit of worldbuilding!
@@BrianJohnson-lx3zd"Did Jesus Quote From Aesop's Fables? Solomon (970-931 BC) "spake three thousand proverbs ... of trees, from the cedar tree, that is in Lebanon, even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall; he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes" (1 Ki. 4;32-33). Aesop's Fables came next (620-564 BC). Aesop’s "THE MISER", who buried rather than increase his wealth, can be seen in Christ's Parable of the Talents; "Aesop's "THE EAGLE AND THE FOX" has the important moral: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" which is also found in Matthew 7;12 and Luke 6;31. "Pride goeth before a fall" is found in Aesop's "THE FIGHTING COCKS AND THE EAGLE" as well as Proverbs 16;18: "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." "Physician, heal thyself" is found in Aesop's "THE QUACK FROG" as well as Luke 4;23. "THE WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING" is referred to by our Lord: "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves" (Matt. 7;15). Paul also said: "I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock" (Acts 20;29)."
2:41 "Careful. Careful." One of my favorite lines in the series so far. He knew that Jesus was just then put in an extremely dangerous situation where the words he next spoke had to be no less than perfect.
Everybody loves a Jesus that requires little or nothing to follow Him. But that's not the true Jesus, Who clearly stated that anyone who doesn't deny Himself, take up his cross and follow Him is not worthy of Him. This work of fiction preaches a gospel of self, not self denial, which will quickly fail, like the house built on sand, in the coming tribulations which will purify the true Church.
Even his cousin does not understand Jesus what his role on Earth is. After all those miracles he is not sure anymore cause he was jailed and expect to be rescued by Jesus. Yahusha would not be crucified and the prophecy will not be realized. The same with John he must die for what he believe!

The Baptizer did have some issues. He even said, "I must decrease so that He can increase". In other words, it is right that I move aside to not hinder Jesus' ministry - like Elijah was swept away as Elisha rose to take his place. But, John still kept his disciples and he continued to accuse public officials - he did not disappear, until the enemy removed his head. I don't think he needed to die, he just couldn't stop himself - but he move out from God's protection.

Thus, leading Openly and Honestly to the painful Truth of Question:
"Whose the Messiah?," And perhaps =>
"How to judge, determine messiahship." : Yes there are cautions about this (Judging Jesus and all.... Note "j" use MA be capitolized depending on how pretentious-- or NOT!-- we are!
YET, For Example:
What if I Identified Christ CORRECTLY vs. INCORRECT?:

"Whose Who?" vs. "Who IS" AND "Whose NOT"
[For Instance: WHO CANNOT be Christ. What Principles ARE Allegable]
Note: This is different from ACCUSATIONS, especially when paired with questions never ever EVER intended to be aswered to by Christ.
Therefore, we SHOULD ask: "What would a rational GOD NEED?""
Should PERHAPS more or less "SILLY words" on a PAGE matter or be the defining thing?
Should CHARACTER matter [For Example: I'll make it simple: Who is Good here v WHO is Bad there? Who is "Christ-ier" ] ?! . . . Should POWER matter OR be the defining feature?! !!! . . . ?
It seems obvious to me that one or more who "may" *appear,* YES "appear," as "judgeably" messionic (ASK: *appear* to be messionic, how? In what way, mesisionic[Del: Messionic Jew]?:), may be minimizingly labeled as MERELY or ONLY "In LIKENESS to HIM" [Yet, impossibly* HIM]".
Note: I wish to state that it is NOT a healthy belief, in my opinion, that POWER should be a basis for in believing that Jesus is Jesus. I feel it should be CHARACTER that counts!

I say this because John (Ian in Nordic countries) is argueably Jesus-ionic (Note use of -ionic, suffix-able to "Mess-ionic"; [Del] I(C)onic, I(R)onic].

Chrit-Ian can be taken to be a declaration of Ian, meaning John, as The Christ or Chryst (For Chryst, the Spirit, contains the body of a Human, if I am not mistaken in Spirituality). Talk about your Coded Systems....

I know some people have taken an issue with the fact that they've decided to depict this moment in scripture in a way that makes John the Baptist a doubter in his belief in Christ. Have you told your mother that you hate her and have you abandoned all of your possessions as your savior has commanded you to do?
Jesus will only grant you everlasting life if you hate your mother, abandon your family, and give up all of your possessions-
Luke 14:26-27
“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters - yes, even his own life - he cannot be my disciple."
Matthew 10:34-37
"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law - a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household."
Matthew 19:29
"And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life."
Luke 14:33
“…therefore, none of you can become my disciple if you do not give up all your possessions."
Jesus wants anyone who doesn’t want to be ruled by him to be slain in front of him:
Luke 19:27
"Those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them, bring them here and kill them in front of me."
Jesus' sheep who gave up their lives and families to follow their cult leader must say they are worthless slaves:
Luke 17:10
"So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty."
Jesus calls non-Jews "dogs":
Matthew 15:21-28
"It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs."
Jesus also says disobedient children must be killed as required by Old Testament law:
Mark 7:9-10
"And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition! For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’, and ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’"
(See Ex 21:15, Lev 20:9, Dt 21:18-21)
Matthew 5:40
Do not defend yourself in court-
"And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well."
Cannibalism is an integral part of Christianity.
John 6:53
"Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Who can accept it?" From this time, many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him."
Jesus approves of slavery too-
Matthew 8:5
"When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. “Lord,” he said, my servant lies at home paralyzed, suffering terribly.” Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal him?” The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed."
Jesus' parables approving of slavery and beating slaves.
Luke 12:46-47
"The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes."
Luke 17:7-9
"But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat? And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink? Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not."
Look up the Lectio Divina!
Not until you practice truth by coming to the light do your deeds ever manifest from the works of God in your flesh to be like Him. John 3:21
This is so very powerful in presenting Jesus in a way that lets us understand how patient he was towards those he so desperately desired to reach. It’s heart wrenching.

Even the government is trying to take our rights away in schools to worship the Lord. We must fight back and keep spreading the word. Go is our savory and holly ghost. Hi Dear Christy a letter for you below: Allah (God) says (Quran: 5:14) And from those who say, "We are Christians" We took their covenant; but they forgot a portion of that of which they were reminded. So We caused among them animosity and hatred until the Day of Resurrection. And Allah is going to inform them about what they used to do.
(Quran: 5:15) O People of the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger making clear to you much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture and overlooking much. There has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book (i.e. the Quran). [note: the religious power group has historically been modifying/corrupting the Bible or teachings of Moses & Jesus, to the point that there is no pure teaching exists of these two great messengers.)
(Quran: 5:19) O People of the Scripture (Jews & Christians), there has come to you Our Messenger (Muhammad) to make clear to you [the religion] after a period [of suspension] of messengers (after Moses & Jesus), lest you say, "There came not to us any bringer of good tidings or a warner." But there has come to you a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And Allah is over all things competent. {Note: after Moses & Jesus who were messengers of Allah, the Jews and Christians changed the scriptures and corrupted it. So Allah sent the final messenger i.e Muhammad to clarify belief in one God. The Quran is the word of God (Allah). Allah is the God of all universe and human beings. Jesus is a human being and a messenger of God(Allah). }
my guess is, John’s disciples were asking John those same questions, and so he sent them to ask Jesus and see Him in action. A teaching moment. Even Simon Peter was excited for them to see and learn.

I love how Jairus breaks the tension in this scene. Beautiful!
Yeah. And in a way, it gave a way to help Gaius do his job at keeping the people under control.
The kingdom of heaven is at hand…do not miss it. This is our primary mission until His return, to share the gospel.

This series helped connect me to god just when I needed it. When I finally started letting god in and looking at the Bible. This show came as a way of showing his miracles in life. I’m grateful to everyone who works on this show you have moved millions.
I loved the beginning when Jesus clapped for John’s disciples. I didn’t even think about that and now I’ve seen it, it’s definitely in character. I can imagine Him doing this when we arrive in Heaven.
John the Baptist never once doubted in Jesus😇. I'm still surprised people don't pay close attention to that. He was directing his apostles to ask Jesus if he was the one because he wanted them, to know for him, for themselves. He wanted them to be able to identify him with their own eyes and hearts.
Before he went to prison, he straight up told them all who Jesus was, though.
Interesting thank you for sharing 👍🏼😁🙏🕊🔥
@@sebastiancooper7792 Yes😊. But the difference in "telling" someone something vs being a personal witness is where the difference is. We can tell people all the time that Jesus is real but they'll never be convinced until they have had their own witness by feeling the spirit, witnessing a miracle, being aware with their own eyes and hearts what Christ does for us on a daily basis. John wanted his apostles to know for themselves and not just go off the words from his mouth. Hope that makes sense😇😊🙏

Oh my gosh. I didn’t even realize that!
❤this scene shows how strong faith in God our father can really be if we stand strong and hold fast to our faith
I Always feel like I ought to choose my favorite Jesus movie, but I choose this show.
There was one on Broadway, though...
May a few of the "bubbles" burst upon my heart and give me reassurance and joy that Jesus is Lord of all creation.
Thanks for sharing.
I say since I started watching the chosen I can understand what he is saying. I love this movie we need his message now. With the world it is. ❤
Shalom
The END Times were 2,000+ yrs ago. Both heaven and hell are not a geographical place, but a state of mind.
Read "the gospel as it was revealed to me " by Maria Valtorta . It's a gem !

But watching clips and snippets of this show just makes me more and more interested in finding more
What have you got to lose? I’d say start with the gospels and read the New Testament.
Go and buy a Bible brother. That’s the Holy Spirit guiding you.
Jesus is the truth. Open his word, and he will show you the way.

And that Jesus praises a man who is doubting.
quick question what chapter and book was that in again i seen the scene and it made me want to read it myself too

I just love this scene. Very powerful. Touches the heart in many ways. ❤
I loved this moment for Ze. Seeing him accept his true role as a follower of Jesus by abandoning his violent ways, and helping bring his past brothers to the same realization was so powerful.
5:19 love this part, the way Jesus said nothing and how Simon said I think his silence is response.
I love that also. He didn't say anything to excuse or defend John cause he was right about them from the beginning. And he didn't tell the man he wasn't a viper just cause his wounded ego needed to hear it. It was: "Yeah, he sure did say that."

Read Paul's Epistles as God chose Paul to minister to the Gentiles. The saving gospel is that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the 3rd day, 1 Corinthians 15 1-4kjv.

If you have evidence that the Bible figure known as Jesus existed, provide it.
@@connie3632
The only Bible author who claimed to have seen Jesus is Paul who asserted that he met him in a vision and described Jesus as being only a bright light. Paul actually stated that his sources were non-human, "...the gospel I preached is not of human origin." (Galatians 1:11-12). Paul further asserted that Jesus selected him alone to speak for him (Acts 9:15): "Paul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings as well as to the people of Israel." In Romans 1:16 Paul reveals that no other gospels existed at the time, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ."
The Jesus story began in 48 AD with the first of the Pauline Epistles (which comprise nearly half of the New Testament books) when Paul realized the Daniel 9:25 prophesy of a messiah expired without fulfilling so he made one up decades later and set the story decades in the past matching Jewish expectations of the messiah to make the prophesy seem true.

Ikr! How wonderful would it be if people didn’t complain and spam the chats with hate comments 😢
Even *I* love this show!
Think how wonderful it will be when we meet the real Jesus. I think I will fall on my face.
I’m a new believer. I never realized how significant this dialogue is until I read the Book of Matthew.
Praise Jesus Christ!😊🙏🏻

He has a sense of humor😊. I can’t wait to go back home to Heaven to be with Father and our Lord. The feelings of there love are beyond measure here….you can’t find it here. It’s the most euphoric feeling ever❤️🙏 Pray to receive God’s love, if you receive it, you won’t regret it❤️❤️❤️🙏😊 Much respect to my brothers and sisters here❤️
The Baptizer did have some issues.
John was not dealing with his own doubts of those of his disciples. The best teacher would send his students to the source to answer their questions.
