    Great video! I just grabbed a Nikon D850 that I can't wait to pair with my 200-500 for more wildlife opportunities. Gotta love when the light is gorgeous and something sticks around for you to observe.

      Morning David,
      We’ve been quite lucky in Cambridgeshire recently as with had a good amount of mist, which always adds to a good sunrise shoot.
      Enjoy your Nikon and the 200- 500. But be aware that Wildlife photography is very addictive 😉
      Take care and have a good week. 👋

      Hi ya John,
      It was a shame I filmed the deer in the 1st clip as I think that could have been the best shot. Never mind, at least it added to the video.
      The owl was a nice bonus and they’re certainly up there with my best shots.
      Take it easy John and I hope you have a great weekend 🍺

    It must just be my brain...but throughout this vlog I was just expecting a clown to creep out of the bushes behind you.
    Nice shots of the deer/owl. Its difficult to do wildlife in a soft mist as everything tends to look a bit flat (I don't mean the Fens :-)

      Morning Iain,
      I hope you’re well.
      I was only talking about you to the guys on the Pubcast the other day.
      All very nice I hasten to add.
      Take care and stay safe bud 🍺

      @@DarrenKnightPhoto Long list of electrical breakdowns in the house over lockdown (so I couldn't get things fixed). Slowly catching up on pubcast as I've been somewhat off grid. Not helped by being out yesterday to shoot south east Loch Lomond and getting shunted by a Land Rover. I'm fine but boot of car is staved in. In body shop/coach works tomorrow morning. Back to wandering around the village with a camera this week......mmmmmmm, ironically shooting local.
      Is anyone monitoring/responding to comments on pubcast or can I get away with writing anything ??? ;-)

      That’s serious run of back luck you’ve had there Iain and I’m sorry to hear it.
      Apart from the car, hopefully you’re back on line now and when the car is returned you should be back to normal.......whatever normal is these days.
      With regards to the Pubcast. We all try and reply and monitor the comments but you know what life’s like. To much to do and not enough time etc.......

      Hi ya Ian
      I hope you’re well bud.
      You should share your images or make a wildlife video. I think you’d be great at that 👍

      @@DarrenKnightPhoto Hi Darren thank you buddy very nice of you to say, what camera system do you use, is it sony? I have Canon eosr but soon want the R6 when it comes out, it might re ignite my passion for wildlife again, I have the 100-400 mkii by canon also, that is a lovely sharp lens, hope your well too buddy It would be great to meet up one day, I live in Norwich myself how about yourself? do you have facebook?

    • @DarrenKnightPhoto
      @DarrenKnightPhoto  4 роки тому +1

      Morning Ian,
      Yeah I left Canon last year and moved over to Sony, purely because I sold my Astro kit and wanted to re invest in landscape equipment. Unfortunately at the time, Canon was lagging behind its competitors but the R6 looks fantastic.
      Having said that, I’m very happy with Sony and have no intentions of returning to Canon.
      I’m not really travelling at the moment but when I do it would be great to meet up. Perhaps a coastal shoot later on in the year.
      I’m on Facebook but never use it. I’m mainly on Twitter and then instagram but Twitter is my main social media outlet.
      Take care bud

      It’s always an enjoyable morning over at the fen, plus it’s only a 15 minute drive from home.

    How did you get permission to take photos on National trust land? Do you have to apply in advance? How much does it cost?

    Why do you whisper, green grass? Why tell the trees what ain't so? Whispering Grass, the trees don't have to know.....name that tune. I'm starting to get lens envy now which is worrying. I shot that deer I took at 200m FF and had to crop heavily. I really enjoyed the rush of taking it, not knowing when he/she would see me and run.....I get you know!! I must be due back to Wicken soon. Lovely vid mate, and well done on the Marsh Harrier

    What manfrotto tripod and head do you use?

    @BernardBrunet 4 роки тому +1

    Nice one Darren, you got the shot man, love the one with the deer laying down and you just see is head! Lovely. Question, why no tripod? Do you have ibis in camera? Cheers

    • @DarrenKnightPhoto
      @DarrenKnightPhoto  4 роки тому +2

      Morning Bernard,
      I hope you’re well my friend.
      The reason for no tripod is because I don’t need it to take stills. The shutter speed is always set to approximately 1/1000 for wildlife.
      The only time I need a tripod or mono pod is when shooting video, but that doesn’t happen very often.
      Just another thing to carry 😞
      Take care matey and stay safe 🍺

    Are you planning any landscape photography vlogs soon please. While I appreciate your dedication for the wildlife & you are getting some fantastic images as well as Vlogging. That takes great skill. However wildlife photography is not for me. Sorry Darren.

      Hi Nicky,
      No need to apologise, each to their own.
      I am starting to make landscape vlogs again and my next video is just that.
      But 2020 has been a crazy ride and so for the foreseeable future I’ll be staying local and mixing the 2 genres.
      Roll on 2021 when hopefully we can re-boot and get back to normality
      Best wishes
      Darren

    Why on earth do they make these long lenses White! Just get yourself some Camo, bandage style, tape and maybe a camo long sleeve jacket. Cheers

      @DarrenKnightPhoto  4 роки тому

      macmansfield I ordered the Camo sleeving shortly after buying the lens but it didn’t arrive in time for this video.
      To be honest I don’t think it would have made any difference in this instance as you’re totally exposed on the footpath.
      I have a Camo fishing coat but it was just to warm to wear.
