- Follow me on my trip to The Netherlands to compete in the Suzuka Doube Digital Race race weekend at SRC Eindhoven in Best, NL. Saturday would be comprised of two ninety minute races for DiSCA GT3 Euroseries specification cars, with Sunday being a six hour endurance for DiSCA WEC specification cars.
Together with English diver Dave Maddock and Slot.it company President Maurizio Ferrari, we took on both races in the new Slot.it Nissan Nismo GT-R GT3.

Excellent video. One of the best out there covering a slot event.
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO LOOKING FORWARD TO MANY MORE!!
Gary, I see I still have a lot to learn and this isn't just race related. Great video, nice complete story, great story board. Loved meeting you and hearing your story. We keep in touch about the H&B test Bench.
You got one more subscriber Gary, nice to see your GTR in action. Greetings from GDS Team
Wonderful professional coverage you bought me to a grate slot car event that I was able to understand the whole event and enjoy it from afar AU thank you
Nice cadence to the event and the video.
Just found your channel and ate up all your videos. Great!
Looking for tuneup and trick adjustments on cars themselves. I have Carrera cars but open to others if I see a reason.
So if you can post pit tuneup tips that make a difference that would be enjoyable. Thx
OMG That is an awesome track! Suzuka is the track I want to recreate. My poor bank account!
Great video, Gary! Excellent picture quality. I guess it was rather troublesome driving in the dark with so little lighting installed around the track. Also it seems that one end of the track is much darker than the other side. Great shots though!👍
Great video Gary!
BTW, Tamar's workbench seems to look a lot like mine 😂
Gary! Nice video for sure! Please come back for new videos!!
Great. Pls more videos like this! Thanks
Great job! Thank you!
Awesome job on the video!
Excellent job
Great video, Gary!
Hi Gary, as I said, digital Slot Racing in German Clubs are still very very rare. For bigger scale I created a rule set "MiniZ Super24 Competition Digital" (1:27) optimized for digital races on carrera tracks at home based on my experience on wooden tracks. Your DiSCA is super interesting. Could you please make a video about the different classes and how to set up a car? I would like to introduce these classes in Germany. For digital slot racing it's that kind of "standard" that's missing. Something that is well established in the analog world. So looking forward to the next video! Keep it up!
Thanks so much. I’ll see what I can do, making videos about the DiSCA categories is a great idea but there’s a lot to cover. And yes - a lack of standard was why DiSCA was created in the first place!
@@slotcarazing I am in contact with Leon from Eindhoven to get more details. Is there a specific forum to get more connection to drivers, events and so on?
Do you think that DiSCA would work in smaller scale on carrera tracks? They are very common in Germany. I know about the advantages of oxigen system - still I got the carrera system to work for 6 vehicles (power supply, new electronic etc.).
@@slotracing.digital Most of the larger events are announced and discussed via SlotForum. DiSCA racing is not exclusive to oXigen and there are several people running races using DiSCA standards on SSD, so there’d be no reason why you couldn’t do that for D132.
If you wanted a simpler formula for more standard cars then check out DiSCA GT4 Clubman for Carrera, which is aimed exactly at stock D132 Carrera cars and would be well suited for small Carrera tracks / clubs.
It might be best to discuss via email rather than YT comments, Leon could probably share our address with you. Thanks!
@@slotcarazing thank you! I'll get in touch with you ;-)
Nice video Gary. Looks like it was a great trip! What caused your car to stop working on Sunday?
It was a combination of electrical problems to do with the lighting system and the lap counting sensors. It’d take a lot of explaining to go in more depth than that 😅
@@slotcarazing No further details needed. Thanks Gary.
Looks fantastico 👍👌
Very nicely done video - I wish we had such events here in the US . What was the treadmill type device on the bench at time 02 15 and how can I purchase one ?
Thanks! The rolling road is an HB Test Bench made by Henri Ravensteijn of the Slipstream club near Amsterdam. Not sure if he has a website but you could try contacting him through the club, he does make them to order. www.slipstream-slotracing.nl/
so do you guys get paid by spondors to travel and do this? just wondering what its like in the background.
Do you think policar track will be something that club racing changes to in the future?
I think for clubs with plastic tracks it’ll be between Policar and the new Scaleauto track, but it won’t happen quickly. Club tracks are a huge investment and not just financial. I doubt any club will be in a hurry to decommission what they have unless there are pre-existing issues that would make building a new track from scratch a viable option.
Is the bracket on the front of the motor pod to convert to 3 point suspension ? Is this your own part or a slot.it prototype part.
This is a custom part. Thanks for watching!
Omg I live there
🏁🏁🏁🏁💪🏻🙌
Just wondering why you would not do your build at home before setting off and then just do final set up and minor tweaks when you get to Eindhoven. Or have I misinterpreted what you meant?
I would certainly have built at home if it were possible! In these particular circumstances it wasn’t. Thanks for watching
@@slotcarazing By the way, highly enjoyable viewing. Thanks.
Hello Gary ....im wondering if you have stopped your interest in Slotcars .your channel looks very interesting but no new posts since this one ....hope you are well and I gave you a subscription anyway in case you post anything new ...Greetings from Northern Europe 🤗...Harry
What is the wire mesh you have on the motor?
It’s a wire mesh 🙃
What track system are they using
Ninco track with Slot It oXigen digital control option. The track can operate in anlog mode for regular club racing, or digital racing for endurance events
Why are their gt cars faster then the prototypes ?
They’re not, always. In DiSCA racing LMP1 has a marked downforce advantage from the motor orientation, while LMP2 and GT are fairly well balanced against each other and trade advantages between weight and downforce. That being said certain tracks suit certain cars better, the twisty layout of Suzuka shown in this video will favour a sidewinder car which is only possible with a GT.
It also comes down to talent. This Suzuka layout is one of the most difficult tracks in the world and the fastest local drivers, who are more familiar with the layout, will have an advantage over visitors no matter what car they are driving. Thanks for watching!
1/32 scale?
Yep
