I am 38 now and this song hits for me on multitudes of levels. So much of my youth wasted and so much antics now I'm married with 2 spawn and 3 fur babies, this is crazy. Time flies, life is short, enjoy it while you can and don't let little things matter, just make it beautiful for you, God bless you all.
I always say things that bothered me when I was 19. Don't bother me now at 59 . I just wish my grandparents were still around for me to apologise for being a Ttwwaatt 🇬🇧 .
26 with my first on the way. It’s crazy how much life just changes in 1 year. A year ago I wasn’t even engaged. Just barely starting my relationship. I’m so happy and excited for the future though. ❤
@@Horsegirl2024this is how you should be, and I'm in the same situation, crazy to think there's real parents who think about "wasting" their youth raising children 😭
I listen to this song with tears in my eyes. I'm 67 years old, grew up in the States and was a wild thing in my youth. Smoked a lot of pot, did hallucigenics, hitch-hiked, would go dancing in Hollywood - had all kinds of adventures in the 70s. I know I used to be crazy, I know I used to be fun. I'm living in Ireland now. Thanks for the absolutely wonderful song.
I know right! Hannah Montana. Party in the USA. Wrecking ball. It's all her journey. And I'm so blessed she shared hers cause I know I am not alone!!!!!!!
I love how when she says crazy and fun it goes from up to down but when she says young...it always goes from down to top. Shows that she is not ashamed but proud of herself when she was young. What a beautiful sentiment and what a beautiful song.
Miley's growth as a person reflects a lot of the pitfalls everyone encounters, and she's come through the otherside seeming to be a "whole person," and YOU CAN HEAR IT IN THIS SONG.
I REALLY hope that this song is autobiographical - if it is, I'm so proud of her for being ready to be a responsible adult. I'm 45 now and listened to Achy Breaky Heart, but was a little too old for her Hannah Montana years. I never thought that I would end up liking her the way I do now
I can relate to the song. Now I'm 67 , used to be proud, crazy, wild. Outcomes were horrendous. Made lots of wrong choices and family members helped me come out of bad relationship. Didn't learn, made mistakes again and again. Faith n 🙏 education helped me grow. Can't judge others coz I was there. From time to time, I encourage others to get education so it's not hard to get up. Best of all, Love Our Maker, coz His unconditional Love is always waiting to welcome us back. Amen
I’m 54 and was a wild man in my youth. It’s been such a wild journey to go through all of that to end up realizing that my Shepard has brought one of His stray sheep back into His pasture. I love Jesus more than anything. He protected me all those crazy years. I count my blessings every day.
I listen to this, and just turning 59. I relate to past things, "When I use to be young". Miley went hard with this. And for her own personal reasons. "Hannah Montana", simply grew into a young woman. As she should have. And her video dressed in a Mickey Mouse Tshirt. I think, directly speaks to what she is singing about❤
Omg, this woman is soooo gifted. Her songs are so honest and moving. Anyone who doesn't recognize her worth is just not paying attention. ❤❤ Also, anyone who thinks this song is about how many years a person has lived is missing part of the message. This is about the evolution of a person from being innocent, unmarked by experience, naive and impulsive and optimistic, to someone who has learned from their mistakes, had their hopes failed and their heart really broken, but carries on with the aim of doing better. Respect.
Beautiful song from Miley Cyrus. I think she was always very good and talented, but she became even better by the years. She is about my age, and i feel this song so much. It's okay to become an adult, but sometimes i miss being young and stupid :)
I'm only 17 but this song just makes me remember my childhood, even if some would say I'm still living it. I guess I just wanted to say to anyone reading this, don't wait till your older to do what you want to, and even if you are older, don't let that stop you from living life how you want it. All of you, have a great morning/evening/night, and live your life how you want to
i know how u feel, im still 16 but will be turning 17 in a week. but god how i miss those days with my old friends just goofing around and doing dumb stuff. i got new friends and soon new adventures, so its all about enjoying them now :D
As a responsible adult I can’t recommend your advice wholeheartedly but I’d understand if you disregard my take on it altogether. We all make mistakes - just try to avoid the ones you can’t come back from. Have fun but not to the detriment of others. Chase your dreams while you can before responsibilities become your priority. Cherish your loved ones and the time spent with them because they may not always be there and learn to let them go if/when it’s time.
Why am I crying ???!!! Oh, cause, I RELATE!!! Miley did great with this one and I used to abhor her when she was young lol, but I am 10 yrs older than her. Beautiful song!!!💜
You spend all your years trying to figure out how to live and by the time you figure it out, there isn't much time left. Enjoy it, it's over before you know it.
For anyone who doesn't get the meaning of this song ,from what I can tell, this is Miley looking back at her life, all the decisions and mistakes she's made, how she can't take those back but she doesn't feel they were wasted either.
"those wasted nights are not wasted, I remember everyone", when your parents said their bad influence to you, but you have so much fun and happiness to those person who treated you like family even though your not related by blood, ❤️, I'm 29 now but i still can remember each one of them.. #sorry for my grammar 😂.

I never had fun in my teens & 20's. I was always working, going to school. Doing everything I was told to do to be successful. Now in my late 30's I find myself reflecting on what if's but hearing songs like this really sooth my heart. It makes me realize happiness is relative & I didn't miss out on as much as I thought. We just got to surrender our youth with grace & be present in the moments we do get later in life. No regrets, just love the life you were given. A beautiful song & person.
oh my, that song brings back memories from another time (like 5 to 15 years ago xD). Still this is the exact feeling I have becoming an adult in my late 30s. great song, love this woman. Miley is an amazing person, great singer and a role model
My school is singing this song during my middle school graduation this week. I won’t forget this song, it’s so meaningful. I hope everyone has a great day!❤️
I'm 33 now. No regrets. I soaked up all my youth while it lasted. Now I get to watch my kids discover the world and it's better than experiencing the things myself. Christmas lost it's magic until I had children 🎄so did a lot of things. Now there's magic again 🌠
“Take one pour it out it’s not worth crying about the things you can’t erase like tattoos and regrets words I never meant and those that got away.” I relate to this so much
Honestly the trauma i suffered was what led me to make bad choices. I dont regret my choices. They are what led me to where i am at. Sometimes i wonder what would happen if i chose the opposite of the choice i made. Im 22 now and i think ive grown up pretty well considering the circumstances i went through.
I feel like she doesn't necessarily mean this age-wise, but rather from what she's been through. Maturity comes with experience (especially pain), not just from getting older. I think she was talking about how her pain has changed her, and how when people say she hasn't changed, she sees it as them not really knowing her. Maybe it's my projecting myself into the song, but either way it's a beautiful piece of music
This song is definitely emotional, I am judged for things I did when I was 16...it's okay, ik who I was and ik why. I grew, we all do. This album is just so emotional in general.
Damn this song hits especially as I’m going through my life changes even though they’re nothing compared to what she’s gone through, the fact that most of us can relate to the lyrics
One of my absolute favorites. I love Miley Cyrus, much more as an adult than as Hannah Montana. And I am 71 years old. When she did the twerking thing, I was aghast. But if you really listen to her songs and follow the lyrics you will realize how brilliant and talented she is. Her songs tell a certain truth about relationships and life, and they are brilliantly crafted. Dolly Parton once said: don't you worry about Miley. She is gonna turn out all right. And she has.
Is it weird how much this song resonates with me when I'm only 29? Lol Like I'm not old but I'm also not young anymore. It's just a weird, complicated time for me I guess.
lmao I’m 28. You’re young until you hit 30. Once you hit 30 you’re not young but not old. Then when you hit 40 you’re middle aged. Anyway how in the world can you think your 20s isn’t young. 😂😂😂
Wait till you reach your 40's, to old to be young, to young to be old and you fit in no where. My Husband died young, I just got dropped off in the middle of my life, going "Well shit, now what do I do?"
@@mar-17905 I know me being in my 20's I'm not old but me turning 30 next year means I'm also not particularly young. Lol I'm older than a young adult.
18 year old here, I personally have never had a chance to be 'wild'. I hear about adults going to parties as teens, drinking, smoking. I've never had any of those experiences, I've always felt like my life has been crushing down on my shoulders since I was young. I feel like one small slip up will make everything fall down the drain.
When Miley says that she "used to be young" she actually learn from many experiences she had and that she became wiser. This song is not about getting phisically older.
I know the general public views her bangerz "crazy" era as a stain on her record, but honestly seeing her live through it and come out the other side with nothing but grace and love and forgiveness and acceptance for her and her past self has been so incredibly important to me. Shows us how even if everyone else wont forget and forgive and let you grow past your mistakes, it doesnt mean YOU have to keep yourself in that box.
The hardest part of life is moving through time 😮💨 i wish it was the early 00s again when i was in high school and had so many friends, i guess i took it all for granted back then
Can't listen to this song without shedding some tears, I'll be 58 this year I have a baby girl in treatment who's 17. When I turn 60 she'll be 19. When I hear this song I think of my only daughter Hailey Rose. ❤
I followed this women through all her stages, and supported her. I’m so glad I grew up with her and evolved into adults from our fucked up childhoods together.
I was 5 when Hannah Montana premiered, my parents laughed, I was 14 when my brother took me to see Miley live at her bangerz tour and she was beautiful, and now I'm in my 20's and I know everyone's gonna tell me I still am young but I've made a lot of mistakes along the way and that's a part of the beauty of life❤ you're all beautiful no matter what
The hardest part of getting old is losing family & friends. I miss so many relatives so badly on a daily basis. My friends were my family. Uncle Dave & Grandpa Mitt, i miss you both every day. It hurts. One day, i hope to see you again.
I will not listen to this and not cry. I'm only 13 but I've still had a life reminds me of all the mistakes I've made when I was young. And now because of bullying, drama etc in middle school this song is most relatable, because this period is the period I make the most mistakes
I am the same age as her Dad. She sings about how she "used to be young". I'll try not to feel like some kind of dinosaur as I listen a really good song.
Glad I’m not the only one who thought this. Listening to it had me thinking about my cousin. He passed last October from being fun, wild, and young. I wish he could have heard this song, he would have loved it.
I hope Miley's warning is heard. Her reckless behavior in the last decade has consequences that she has just begun to experience. When you are in your twenty's and "hawt" it is so easy to go wild as someone else's attention is so easy to get, but the older we get the more invisible we get and our past has lingering consequences that all too many young people do not pause to consider.
It's not a warning.... its about how life is just different when your young. Your care free and live in the moment (as you should at that age) but as you get older your priorities change . You realise what is important to you because of the figuring out you do in your teens/ early twenties ❤

Yall if you try singing the climb in its original key over the chorus it literally sounds perfect as if it was written to go with it
I will not listen to this and not cry. I'm only 13 but I've still had a life reminds me of all the mistakes I've made when I was young. And now because of bullying, drama etc in middle school this song is most relatable, because this period is the period I make the most mistakes
Don’t beat yourself up
There is still a million mistakes to make it never stops
You do you
I am the same age as her Dad. She sings about how she "used to be young". I'll try not to feel like some kind of dinosaur as I listen a really good song.
😂❤
❤
Miley Cyrus 🔛🔝
Used to be young > Flowers
"Turns out crowded rooms empty out as soon
There's somewhere else to go, oh"
damn.
The first time I heard this song I cried like a baby. I’m so proud of Miley 🥹💕
Never stop being wild, fun, and enjoying your life 💖
Lauren Spencer Smith may have the best wedding song with 'That Part', but Miley now has the top funeral song...
omg😂i was just thinking it wd make a lovely funeral song
Glad I’m not the only one who thought this. Listening to it had me thinking about my cousin. He passed last October from being fun, wild, and young. I wish he could have heard this song, he would have loved it.
used to be young is a good song. Respect.
A song about a woman wasting her best years and now has to live with the regret for the rest of her life.
wasting and regret can't be felt in the song
The song sounds like someone who's grown wise
I'm 36. First heard any of Miley songs and I love them Taylor's too
I hope Miley's warning is heard.
Yeah but what she’s basically saying is; meh, I was young
It's not a warning.... its about how life is just different when your young. Your care free and live in the moment (as you should at that age) but as you get older your priorities change . You realise what is important to you because of the figuring out you do in your teens/ early twenties ❤
I absolutely love this song 🎉
❤ who’s listening in 2024 🎉 happy life ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉😂
