À la croisée des écoles italienne et française, Jean-Baptiste Senaillé et Jean-Marie Leclair (qu’une génération sépare également) furent en quelque sorte les Paganini du XVIIIe siècle français. Virtuoses autant que poétiques, toujours formidablement rythmées et dansantes, ces sonates encore injustement méconnues n’auraient pu trouver meilleurs défenseurs que le jeune violoniste prodige et le fondateur des Arts Florissants.

Poised at the convergence of 18th-century French and Italian schools, Jean-Marie Leclair and Jean-Baptiste Senaillé were the French Paganinis of their day. Technically challenging yet full of poetry, rhythmically varied and always dance-like, these unjustly neglected sonatas find two fervent advocates in the youthful violin prodigy and the founder of Les Arts Florissants

Krásná gavota, skvěle podaná, už jsem dlouho neslyšela tak hezkou… Zvláštně působí naprostý soulad věkově velmi vzdálených generací interpretů. Je vidět, že krásná hudba nezná hranic. Děkuji za nahrávku a zdravím z České republiky.

לדעתי הכל יפה והלואי עלי לבקר בבית הנפלא אבל הנגינה של הבחור כל כך דביקה כאילו שמדובר בקליידרמן שמנגן שופן ולא בלקלר בן תקופתו של באך וראמו. מזל שויליאם קריסטי מציל את המצב. כאמור, זו רק דעתי
