  • In this video I take a look at some of the recurve sight pins that are currently on the market. I look at and review the Decut Tawant, Cartel sight pin, SF sight pin and the Spigarelli Light Pin.

Great review, i watch this post a while back an went straight to the bay and bought the same Decut. It works brilliant extended 9 inches out in front.

Several variations are possible: I have used an open ring made of a fluorescent green plastic. I plan to try a hooded ring like the Tawant. An optical fiber in another color (green for FITA to contrast with the yellow and red) could help. The pin should be easier to use when you are aiming off due to wind, where the open ring is better for centering on the face indoors. The square aperture allows you to line up with an edge of a target if it is square as indoor targets usually are, avoiding canting. You can also try painting the edge of the black ring sights to see if that gives you better contrast (using white-out or silver maker).

I have tried many different sight pins, but the absolute best for me is Shrewd recurve scope with about 2mm black dot taped to the glass.

I use the Shrewd too but with a 1mm black dot

One thing to watch with the Decut Scope, is that the screw in retaining ring can easily vibrate loose so that the glass falls out!

I love the Spiragelli sight aperture (light) so far for indoor. I haven't tried it outside yet.

I loved mine, until I dropped it and bent the metal thread. I did see some archers shooting them at the Nimes competition the other week on UA-cam.

Thank for the review. Have you yet tested these pins in outdoors?

I shot the SF Basic sight for a couple of years outside. I shot the Spigarelli outside all last year. It's really good. The black outer sticker has come off now. I actually also dropped it the other week and the bolt is now bent so I changed over to the Decut Tawant.
The Decut is great indoors, although I am yet to try it outdoors. I am a little worried about it fogging up and what will happen in the rain. But I will have to wait and see. My Decut came with an orange/red fibre but I do see now they are pictured with a green one. I actually want to try a green one.

I just received a Decut Honor sight and a Tawant aperture. To change the aperture, is it as simple as unscrewing the threads of the old aperture and screwing in the Tawant aperture, or is other disassembly/assembly required?

I know on the decut tawant you can just unscrew the bezel and remove the lens.

What kind of diameter the Spiga-sightpin-bodyblock is made of ? ... sorry for my bad spokenote ):p

The square part holding the sight pin is a semi clear type of acrylic plastic. It is 1cm on each side. Inside there is a really thin almost hair like set of 4 strands holding the centre dot in place.

      @@ArcheryblogUk thx 4 reply !! So this is a 8mm regular sightpin & not a 12mm one? Thx again!

@@11SoG11 yes it's reasonably small with a 8/32 thread. It did originally have a black sticker covering the front square, but that came off.

Hi archery blog, avalon has come out a new product called avalon Tec One 14mm recurve scope, personally I think it look like a downgrade version of axcel RX, but I would like to view your review on this product and hear about what you have to say about this recurve scope. I hope you can consider my request on this one, thank you

@@ArcheryblogUk Thanks. Me Tawant will arrive in two weeks. I would like to make an extra lens to accommodate a different diameter fiber optic wire.
