    This is great! Thank you so much!!! Just some more information so you know. I aim to have the expander available in June.

      Also there is no need to put the firmware into the video expander. That was only a one time operation with this beta device. Updates can be easily done from the NerdSEQ.

      Thank you so much for making the video expander so exciting and with more ports.
      I really hope I get one at some point. Finally got the MIDI/pad working again with a rehouse. :O

      @@scam_dnb 👍It's the USB Input on the MORE VIDEO IO you see in this video. So this MORE VIDEO module will allow you to use an external screen and USB keyboard

    I own all of the Nerdseq expanders including the More Video-IO module (won it from XOR) and can say the Video expander with a qwerty keyboard rocks!!!

    Really enjoy your videos, you seem to show off the gear that I'm into! If you could only keep one, Eloquencer or Nerdseq?

    • @SonicVoltage
      @SonicVoltage  2 роки тому

      Thank you. Mmmm... tough one. Especially without context. Also, it goes without saying (but I am saying it LOL) they are different propositions with different workflows, although both offer multitrack sequencing and at least MIDI expanders for both. Maybe, if I could only take one on a deserted island, and if that island had at least one power socket :), it would have to be the Nerdseq. That's because even without any other module, the Nerdseq would give you synth voice and sample playback, so you could at least make some minimal techno just with the Nerdseq alone.
      In the case of a 'small' eurorack system, again, the sample playback from SD Card and/or built-in synth voice features will help more than any other sequencer without these two sound sources.
      If you move towards a medium or large eurorack set-up it becomes a subjective choice. In this case, you can expand both with additional modules to cover any feature lacking on this or that sequencer. Clock/Trigger modules, slave gate/cv modules, arp modules, trigger delays for hands-on off-beat stuff, glide modules... At that point, it may be more down to your preference of workflow, tracker or grid-based, built-in button-keyboard or not, a specific way of putting together a track from parts/patterns.
      I hope this answer helps a bit, maybe.

      @@SonicVoltage That definitely helps and thank you for your thoughts. I've never used a tracker and I'm a little intimidated by the workflow (though I feel like that would force me to get better at music theory..). I am using the Behringer Go case which has a total of 280hp so I guess that's a medium size case? It's such a hard decision but I think the Eloquencer might be more immediate and easier to use for a newb like me haha.
      I currently have the Erica Synth Black Sequencer and while I absolutely love it, the lack of dedicated drum gates means I need a gate sequencer so I was thinking of replacing them with the Nerdseq or Elopquencer.
      In any case, thanks for all your videos!

      Yes. Actually setting up a new video room for shooting more videos, more quickly, some updates on my Instagram instagram.com/sonicvoltagecom/ Actully a video of the room should be coming up in the next few days and videos will resume from then. Thanks for asking 👍 Will cover all the expanders and newer features recently added to the NerdSeq

    There is something I have no clear about the video expander. What is the meaning of assigning it to a track? Do you loss a track? just like the Trigger expander.

    • @SonicVoltage
      @SonicVoltage  2 роки тому +2

      Hi, no, well it depends... If you simply set the Video Expander to CLONE the screen (and USB) then you get both USB Keyboard Control and NERDSEQ Screen duplicated on your HDMI Monitor. Use the Nerdseq as usual + Nerdseq Screen/sequencer/etc... all visible on your bigger HDMI monitor... BUT there is an experimental feature I have just started messing around with (available on the lastest firmware or maybe from 1.25) which allows you to output Video Synthesis to your HDMI screen. XOR has released this as experiemntal, may/may not be improved, just some cool fun for now... draw squares, circles, screen color, text... so you can sequence some graphics. To use the Video Sequencer then YES you need to set one of the available tracks to Visual-Beta and that track will then show the Video Sequencer Pattern Screen and I am pretty sure you cannot use that specific track to sequence CV/TRIG/MOD for now. But not sure in the future, because XOR recently added the feature where you can still use CV/MOD outputs on Tracks you have set as MIDI tracks... so who knows in the future. I hope this helps, this is what I understand of it so far :)

      Hi. Not at the computer right now but if you go to XOR main site xor-electronics.com there should be firmware links from product page. Or maybe even better go to their forum (link from main site), Nerdseq section, firmware section. You should find what you need in the forum
