Have had this Garmin for nearly 2 years now issue free and 💯 love it. Also when you connect your phone you can disable calls and messages, but still work with Google maps for real-time traffic updates. Sometimes it will offer alternative routes around accidents etc. This feature has helped me stay rolling vs parked on the highway for hours. Also learned from JJ the trucker that you can send locations from Google maps from your phone to the Garmin. Sometimes Garmin won't pick up an address for some reason. I can go on Google maps and use the share button.

Good review. Thanks I just bought one. I used Rand McNally for years I've always loved the interface on the Rand they just don't last. And customer service sucks. I feel like I made the right decision going with Garmin
I’ve talked to so many people who say the exact same thing you say. The interface and also a couple extra features they had on the Rand - but like you said, they just couldn’t get life out of it. If Garmin was smart, they’d put their own spin on some of the Rand features.

Garmin is done. I won’t waste any more money on them. If you have one, just use it as an emergency backup, then get an accurate online one.
I’ve been using mine daily for months and have no issue with accuracy. I also check for updates bi-weekly and update my maps. 🤷🏾♂️ No problems here. 👌🏾

Can't decide if I should get this one or the OTR800. I like the screen more on the OTR800, along with it being newer technology but the 785 has a built in dash cam, which is a huge advantage. Fml, life choices.
Yeah - the 800 has a few more features but this has been working just fine for me. 🤷🏾♂️ I’m generally a frugal person so it’s highly unlikely you’ll ever catch me with the nicer version of anything unless it’s a motorcycle.
I 40 is down South thru TN, NC that area. The Interstates around St Louis are I 70, I 64 and I 55. 😂😂😂

I have the same Garmin, in your settings you can set it for fastest time or shortest distance...this is usually the reason for the difference with your QC!!
Yeah - I remember that setting. I probably set it for shortest distance. Going to check that!
@@TravisKinley shorter distance will send you down side streets, which isn't optimal. faster time will keep you on main roads, in general more efficient
@@Gruxxan Yeah - I've figured out a lot since making this video. I still use my Omnitracs in addition to this. Not to mention a little common sense. ;)

Yes, it will give other reasonable options depending on your settings. I really enjoy mine.
@@TravisKinley every time I put an address it only giving one option, I’ve been going through the settings but I can’t find where is the set up for route options.
@@hectorarnau2634 sometimes any other route just doesn’t seem reasonable. If you’re interested in going another way, you can input another route manually and see what the difference would be.

I think the max size memory card is a 32 isn’t it? Thought that’s what my directions said. Maybe I’m wrong. I’d prolly have to take a look at it. Is it rewriting the same file?

That’s a great question. I haven’t read anything that says so. I think it just operates the built in camera.
Yes you can connect a wireless Garmin BC 35. They are currently around $170 on the Garmin web site.
You could shorten the video by 3 minutes if there wasn’t all that extra crap at the beginning.
