The small time high quality content creators I follow always had a feeling Darnold had way more promise than he was able to match in NY. Glad he's finally getting a real chance.
Vikes have the offense coaching, defense coaching and ability to take talent QB who did not get the training and experience from other franchises. Darnold is a high quality QB coming in but the Jets didn't know sh*t about mentoring a rookie QB so they didn't develop him right
When I think of Sam Darnold I automatically think of the New York media that can be pretty toxic and not just a sports level. So many of us would love to be able to ignore it completely.
They will toss Karl Anthony Towns into a woodchipper after seconds during a questionable performance. Then they will shovel those scraps into a meat grinder and spit on the goop that remains. NY media can be beyond cruel. If Mahomes was drafted to the Jets or a similarly poor team he would have zero superbowls and we would all be calling him a certified backup BUM.
I don't agree, he was in prior circumstances because of play design, receivers, poor offensive line etc. it's a team sport and he and most need a good team to look good. Baker Mayfield is an example of the same thing
@@tuminatr Of his 3 picks one was a tipped ball by his own WR, the McKinney pick last week should've been overturned and was confirmed by the league's head official. Great points. Sometimes the best information doesn’t have a metric; I’d argue this is true more often than not. Kinda like in music when people measure the best band by who sold the most albums, or the best at their instrument by who was with the most famous band. Sam Darnold needed the right situation; his time in San Francisco helped him land running when he arrived in Minnesota.
I believe that if Sam leads the Vikings to the playoffs and win one or two games and look good doing it the Vikings will offer him a 2 year deal with a 3rd season option. I think Sam would sign a 2 year deal for 60-70 million with 50 million guaranteed.
If things keep going like this, do the Vikings keep Darnold and deal J.J.? If not, where is the best landing spot for Sam? I'm super happy for him, and would love to see him continue to succeed.
Unless Sam is afraid of leaving the Vikings and takes a very cheap contract, he's going to get his bag while his stock is at an all time high. The Vikings plan is to have JJ take over and they should stick to it. There's no need to pay a ton of money to Sam Darnold.
Sam Darnold came in to be the bridge starting quarterback. JJ McCarthy wasn’t going to start the season even if he was healthy. The media threw around the narrative that JJ McCarthy was a day one starter. Smh
He has a great arm and can scramble well. He played very well at SC but also did some reckless things. I think he’s outgrown that and he can actually play smart now to match the physical talent. The Jets were just ran and coached so poorly especially when he was there, he never really got a chance to grow and learn.
Fluke wins? They beat 3 straight playoff teams that each won at least one playoff game last season. 1st team in NFL history to do that. That is definitely not a fluke.
Not one mention about Kevin O'Connell influence. Yeah it's awesome that Sam Darnold got to be under Kyle Shannan for a year but what KOC is doing is nothing short of amazing. KOC owns Kyle Shannan. Oh and by the way Kyle Shannan has proven multiple times he can't win in the big game.
Media are the worst man. They don't watch the games and they don't know the teams. I can't even count how many of them said Sam was the back up to Jj before JJ got injured. They are clueless.

The average “Die Hard” fan sure. But the average fan period idk. My Wife said “Can I name 10 Players on the Chiefs ?” And I’m like well at RB you got Samje Perin, Clyde Edwards Helaire, Kareem Hunt, Carson Steel and Isiah Pacheco that’s 5 right there. I can get to 10 just of RBs and WRs. Juju, Rashee, Xavier, Macole and Kelce and Justin Watson and Skyy Moore. But I don’t think the average fan can name 10 players off their favorite team. Probably start turning red and saying uhm a bunch and naming players that are no longer on the team.
What i see out of sam darnold is an average QB beating up on injured teams and getting lucky with penalties and blown coverages. Sam Darnold will not win a playoff game. Hes not your future minnesota, and hes definitely not a Jordan Love or Patrick Mahomes. Enjoy your fluke wins tho
Jordan Love doesn't even belong in the same sentence as Darnold lol. Have fun watching your overpaid QB stay mediocre year after year, thanks Packs fans, we love your mediocrity 😂😂😂

Anyone who gets drafted by the New York Jets is signing their own death sentence. I would refuse to play for them.😢
Playing for them is still working out for Sam in the long run. Holding out is a pretty radical decision.
Zach Wilson incoming above average Starting Qb.

Sam Darnold would be great in Miami
eh, idk Mike is such a bad coach
I agree
We have 13 games left . As a Vikings fan im very worried about whose behind Darnold. This season could turn in a dime if Darnold gets hurt.
Ik we just gotta pray that he stays healthy. I don’t know what I’d do if I have to watch Brett Rypien take a single snap for the Vikings lmao.

Darnold might end up pricing himself out of Minnesota, with how how great he’s playing.
Depends how much he wants. If they win a playoff game I would offer him like 3 years $120 million fully guaranteed and just keep rolling.
