If i recall they almost fell once, they could've had a brutal downfall if it wasn't for the release of The Great Detective Mouse I guess once Disney realized how thin of an ice they were walking on, especially few years later with Pixar showing up, they decided the best plan was to buy their competitors.

I think this is the best way to describe it. Once they become too big, administration and pleasing elites take priority over ensuring an empire and its populace are well and *capable* of surviving. It's wishful thinking, but I'm hoping this is the way the Disney monopoly dies: By becoming so big, it collapses under its own weight, finally allowing new studios and competition to form.

11:50 To be fair, the lockdowns were starting right around the same time when Onward was released, and Soul, Luca, & Turning Red were all released straight to Disney+ instead of having traditional theatrical releases.
The downfall of Disney is primarily due to mismanagement, they acquire things and then under them they devalue to the point that nobody wants them anymore. Couple that with providing their loyal audience with entertainment products that they didn’t ask for and a number of theme park blunders (Galaxy’s Edge, closing Splash Mountain) their audience has started to question their loyalty and close their wallets.
I'm really sad that this happened to Disney It was such a great studio with respectable minds behind it always making entertainment suited for everyone Nowadays it feels like the heads of Disney don't want to entertain their core audience anymore We need someone with Walt Disney's vision on entertainment back... or whoever was the head of the renaissance era T_T
Say what you will about him but to his credit, Jeffery Katzenburg was the chairmen of Disney (not to be confused with CEO Micheal Eisner) and partially if not mostly responsible for saving Disney in the 80s and especially early 90s. He has long left Disney since in favor of his baby DreamWorks Animation……….until a year after Universal bought it (for unknown reasons)
Well, guess what? Josh D'Amaro is going to step in as Disney's new CEO. Once he does, positive changes are going to happen at Disney. Disney will regain its good reputation again. And I'm also planning on starting a new second Renaissance era at Disney. I'll create new movies that are fantastic and non-political.
It's actually sad, not impressive. But it's not going to be that way for long. Big, positive changes are going to happen at Disney, and I'm going to take part in those positive changes by making anti-woke animated movies at Disney. You'll see, you'll become a huge fan of Disney again once you've seen the masterpieces I've made.
Even before Disney went woke? I still hated them due to rough High School life. Not because what my stupid teachers did to me but also how poor I was and Disney didn't care about us. They are brainwasing our kids to make everyone think that European Countries are better than American Countries. Today they can't blame everyone else but themselves for the choices they made?
@sambonbon755 not saying he was perfect, far from it, but he at least cared about his company and what it did. I just feel it's strayed very far from what he would have wanted.

Disney’s recent movies being mostly misses is because of lack of creativity and ambition; stop blaming the gays
@@DORAisD34Dactually them using inclusion made it a lot worse because it also further pushes the message that anything with inclusion will not be good. Being one of the gays i blame them for making the LBGTQ+/females look like we need to be coddled or turned into marry sues or garry sues who have no faults. I also blame my side eg the gays for accepting this level of inclusion lukewarm inclusion. Its extremely reductive to acceptance and normalization.
@@NoahGooder yeah, yeah. But still, any bad movie with a gay character or poorly written female lead always gets called woke, as if inclusion can only be in good movies. Like Nimona was a good movie with gay, but since Strange World is a bad movie with gay, some people use it an excuse to be homophobic and make that their main critique. I’m already seeing “forced inclusion” be said for Inside Out 2 because they think Riley will be lesbian, when she’s just making friends for all we know
What are you talking about? Disney's always done this. Walt couldn't sell a movie where the heroine gets piss-ass drunk or tortures the villain to death, so he cut up Snow White to make his version. Because modern audiences (of the 1950s) wouldn't like that.
@DORAisD34D incorrect, it does have to do with disney focussing on inclusion over quality. It's much deeper than just what they focus on writing in the movie. Disney now has famously added a 50% DEI metric in their hiring process. That's 50% of people they hire must be from diverse groups, minorities, etc. That means they now out a huge focus on hiring people to meet their DEI metric rather than just picking people based on talent. This in turn leads to poorer quality movies, as we can evidently see
The renaissance is only a time range. They weren’t going strong for the 60 years before that. But to be fair, Bob Iger probably won’t pull the same strings like Walt did to save the company
No, it WON'T fall apart, and it NEVER will, not while I'm still around. I'm NOT going to let Disney fall apart like this! I'm going to get Disney back on its feet! You'll be respecting Disney again once you've seen the changes I've made there.
Actually it was not Kevin Feigi that makes MCU great, it was actually Ike Perlmutter who constantly monitoring & guiding Kevin Feigi during the earlier times / golden years of MCU movies, after he’s gone (fired) from Marvel, that’s when the downward trend of M-She-U begins even though it is still Feigi at the helms.
I spent some time working for WDW Magic Kingdom in the early 2000s. Seeing them crash like this hurts. Maybe they need to go back to basics. Find some new fairytales, myths and legends to adapt. Maybe take a risk with 2D again.
They can do without fairytales as proven by movies like Meet the Robinsons, Wreck it Ralph, and Encanto. But the thing is that most of their recent movies like Strange World and Wish play it safe
@Dora-xi5ob of course, but fairy tales, myths and such were the corner stones of Disney Renaissance in the 90s. I'm thinking that going back can help rebuild the brand.

There is actually a chance Disney will go bankrupt, but that doesn’t mean it will cease. In the past when threatened with bankruptcy, Disney often innovated in response
I want to believe that could happen, but considering how far the creative writers and artists are from having the final say in the stories, I don't really have any hope...

Just a heads up anastasia was not made, produced, funded or had in anyway shape or form had anything to do with disney. It was 20th century fox's disney-esque film. But they made it so much like a Disney style film that even Disney at one point tried to sue 20th century fox because they mistook it for their own film and thought 20th century stole it.
I don’t see how they turn this around. They’ve gone so far off track and it only gets worse each year. They got rid of all their talent and replaced them with DEI hires. You can’t make great art without great talent, I don’t know why they think they can just plug in any person behind or in front of the screen, and it will work
Not for long! I'm going to create fabulous, musical Disney classics that are 100% anti-woke! Just you wait! Disney WILL gain back its musical-loving audience! I'll make sure that they WILL!
Next month there’s going to be a shareholder meeting, and Nelson Peltz and former Disney CFO Jason Resulo are trying to get board seats, and depending on whether they get on or not will either bring on a attempt to put Disney on the right track, or leave them squandering for another year cause the current board are a not share holders, and b just yes man to Bob Iger whose has lead Disney to down this path (yes even while Bob Chapek was the CEO at the time, for Iger was still in charge of the creative decisions)

No them buying it was what led to the downfall, instead of coming up with original content they fell to relying on others. Nice that you are wrong though.
If i recall they almost fell once, they could've had a brutal downfall if it wasn't for the release of The Great Detective Mouse
I guess once Disney realized how thin of an ice they were walking on, especially few years later with Pixar showing up, they decided the best plan was to buy their competitors.
Disney needs to stop making low budget ice age movies on Disney+ stop! blue sky studios is already dead
The fox buyout was the beginning of the end of the downfall
You’ve got it backwards. Disney animation has always had ups and downs. But buying all this other stuff has lead led to their demise
The Era that I respect Disney the most is Renaissance
Disney in just the 2020 decade is like the new disney dark age except with out any of the charm and creativity the actual 2 Disney dark age had during those years

Disney decline is starting to feel like the Roman empire in its final years of existence
Disney will NEVER decline because Josh D'Amaro is going to step in as Disney's new CEO! So, there's still hope for Disney! I'm also going to step in as a storyboard artist at Disney and I'm planning to create many anti-woke animated films that'll become surefire blockbusters! Disney is NOT done!✊🏻

To be fair, the lockdowns were starting right around the same time when Onward was released, and Soul, Luca, & Turning Red were all released straight to Disney+ instead of having traditional theatrical releases.
Also going woke
I'm really sad that this happened to Disney
It was such a great studio with respectable minds behind it always making entertainment suited for everyone
Nowadays it feels like the heads of Disney don't want to entertain their core audience anymore
We need someone with Walt Disney's vision on entertainment back... or whoever was the head of the renaissance era T_T
It's like if you don't write a good story you don't get the good money.
Got that right. That's why I'm planning to write good, captivating stories with valuable morals at Disney.
How they turned me, a die hard fan of Disney, into a hater of Disney in only 5 years is nothing short of impressive.
Im fairly certain Walt Disney is rolling in his grave right now and probably has done so quite a few times before this point
You say that like if Walt wasnt a cubt
@sambonbon755 not saying he was perfect, far from it, but he at least cared about his company and what it did. I just feel it's strayed very far from what he would have wanted.

“Disney is focused on inclusion rather than making good stories” is an invalid argument. The gay romance in Strange World was just like any other awkward couple. Writing one of the characters to be a girl would have required the same effort. Replacing it with a straight romance would not have improved the movie. Same goes for Lightyear- Disney didn’t spend 99% of their time animating & writing a 2 second lesbian kiss.
This in turn leads to poorer quality movies, as we can evidently see
I respect Disney in the renaissance era, but now it just fall apart like a house if cards.
Folks that work in that era is all gone
Seriously, there are tons of thousands of mythologies and folklore in this world, yet they really choose to ignore them. It sucks!

@@JUST-A-ROBOT-AKA-Jar the allegations were for hugging people. He was a known hugger. It was normal. He pissed people off by criticizing their ideas and being a perfectionist. He was a truly great genius destroyed in the media because iger didn't like his popularity and mediocrities didn't like his criticism. He "sexually assaulted" nobody. It was a known thing for him to hug people. That's the true story.
@@qwertyuiop-ke7fs it was more than just hugging people man. I also didn't say if they were true or not becuase this video isn't really about him.
Oh they are pushing for it, it's just getting a rebranding. Meaning Blackrock

For the blind, he's light 💡
For me, he's my everything 🥰😍❤💖💕
Even if it's not Disney's fault for going woke? It dosen't change the fact the fact Disney made that choice. They got what they deserve.
It's like if I offer you a smoke? If you choose to take it and smoke? That's your fault. They could've least told Blackrock no and f off. They chose that dark path. They can't blame anybody else.
I wish Disney would get good again they went from the most beloved entertainment company to the most Despised also i though Pixar was always owned by Disney
It WILL! Disney will become beloved again once I get a job there. I'll create fantastic, amazing animated movies that are entirely non-political. Just wait and see. Disney won't be despised for long.
Disney owns Lucasfilm and Marvel. They also own Pixar. Some great writing and a few talented voice actors (and live actors who are good at voice work), and the money prints itself.
Oh, wait. This isn't the 90s/2000s? This is 2024? Oh. Well, nevermind. Disney would just fuck it up anyway nowadays.
🙄What a stupid thing to say. Once I get a job at Disney, I'm going to make some positive changes there. I'm going to create brilliant, wonderful animated masterpieces that are entirely ANTI-WOKE!!! Just you wait and watch! I'll make it happen!

i got 2008-2010s of mcu and some old disney blu-ray HA stay mad about it anti disney hater
They can change
But I doubt it
Don't EVER doubt that Disney will change. Positive changes are going to happen at Disney, and I'm going to help make those positive changes come true.
They wont. We people as species will never change, there will always be someone evill and greedy and people will always be to lazy and naive to act. Thats it.
@@racingraptor4758 🙄That's something a pessimistic would say, and I don't like pessimism. People CAN change if they're absolutely willing to. I'm willing to change for the better, and so can they.
