I was looking at these bullets on the shelf and wondered how they would perform hunting. After watching this video I’m sure they would be a top notch big game bullet.
@@frontlinerejects8029 the norma factory 243 oryx ammo really helps it punch well above what most people expect from a 243 and since its mostly out to 300 yards gun anyway the B.C doesn't matter too much.
Great channel! Would you consider testing the Speer range in the 150 WSM ? Hotcore (semi bonded) and/or Grand Slam (not sure if the GS is semi bonded but they seam to be based on samd the design than the Hornady Interlock). I am curious to know how they compare against more premium offer!
What was the MV? I shoot a 308 Win, so I speculate that this test only becomes relevant to me at about 400 yards. That said, thank you for your hard work!
@@frontlinerejects8029 Awesome, thank you again! Btw, I was wrong. Your 200 yard velocity is about 2494 fps, which would be approximately the muzzle velocity produced by my 308 Winchester. Probably meaningless info for most people, but very valuable to me! Cheers
To be honest, I don't give a damn about the BC on a bullet. I give a damn what the bullet does when it gets on target. That's why I like the Oryx bullets. Just wish they were more available in stores.
Could you do the norma alaska bullet as well? I took a deer with a 6.5 caliber norma alaska (6.5 carcano 156gr rnsp to be exact) and though I did not recover the projectile, it broke through bone on both sides of the deer, and there was a quarter sized hole on both sides of the ribcage. Would like to see if it was a fluke caused by a bone hit upon entrance or if it is a good all round performer.
Awesome stuff and great information. Now lets see the 139gr Evo bullet in the 300 win mag Norma makes.
That is extremely impressive performance. Three times calibre expansion average is exceptional, especially considering the ranges.
We agree! Very Impressed with the Oryx!

I don't think you could go wrong purchasing these.

Norma oryx is one of my favorite hunting bullets. Would love to see you test the Norma Bondstrike!
We've got it on the list - that's one I'm very excited to get my hands on!
Hi from Spain. Thanks for sharing.
Holy crap bat man. You actually had a calm wind shoot
I would like to get some Oryx for my 338 Win Mag. I would like to use these in Big timber for Elk hunting.
Good looking bullet. Great content!
Thanks!
ive used the 196 norma oryx out of a 8x57 mauser on elk and bear ,, fantastic performance , probably the best bullet for the 8mm I've hunted with
That's awesome, thanks for commenting!
Thank you Sir! Great job 👍💯

Is this the factory load or handloads?

We'd love to test it out, I have added it to the list - we may be able to do that exact bullet, stay tuned!
Skip the elevator music.
