In 2007, a group of individuals came together to honor the Mexican heritage at a local event through dance. They performed authentic dances representing the different states of Mexico. Their performance gained an instant following and overwhelming support from the community. At the same time, the dancers were gaining a deeper understanding of their culture and enjoying every minute of it. This was their calling. The prestigious Ballet Folklórico Herencia Mexicana de Vail, CO dance company was formed.

@@aodar9640 Yes the first one was El Son De La Negra but that is from the state of Jalisco. Also I'm saying who knows what the dances are because rarely do people know these regions and songs.

@@kaylaa8092 Our group danced 26 different dances from Nayarit, Michoacan, Jalisco, Veracruz, Chiapas, Nuevo Leon, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, and a few more. You would be surprised how many regions a group can dance. But, most of ours was limited to one hour, so we had to keep it to polkas, Veracruz, Mixteco and Jalisco for the most part unless it was a two hour performance.
