@SuperGuitaraddict Really? "Hand guns are made for killin', they ain't no good for nothin' else"! Hm... how come they never play this song live anymore? Cause it's all about God & Guns these days... I love their music and Johnny's voice but...
@BoromirGurl26 First of all: I Know RONNIE wrote this song. Me saying that I love Johnny's voice doesn't mean that he wrote this song! I'm just saying that I love Johnny's voice! That's it! Second of all: I'll say and think whatever I want to and if you are truly about "protecting our freedom" you should welcome a discussion! Don't live in a glass house and throw rocks at me! The best way to get your point across is NOT to tell people to shut up.
Ironic freaking WASP singing about gun control back in the 70's!!! We came a long way from cheap 38's and the fools are a plenty...coward video players with the access to the real thing WTF!!
+77slickrc I know its a year ago you posted this,,, but ignorance does deserve a reply. You my not friend are,is an idiot. Its music. Not a political statement. Its MUSIC YA DUMB ASS.
is it just me or is it very ironic that johnny van zant is singing this song considering the whole god and guns thing? seems to me that the message to this song and the message to god and guns are in complete contradiction. thats why ronnie van zant is the only true skynyrd front man for me.

I think its Randall Hall he played with Skynyrd when they got back together he also played on the The Last Rebel
Mike Estes replaced Randall Hall for Endangered Species CD
I guessed that alright yeah, thanks for the quick rely though
That played this song last night when i saw them! lern your facts!
Learn
@vodarklord Ronnie was actually talking about skynyrds songs to the charts not about guns and government
I don't think so, I'm not sure if there are any bootlegs though... They probably only played acoustic back then to promote the endangered species cd.
