Hell yeah! I'm sooo annoying when it comes to Detail~ Thinking of redoing this Video better~ What do you thing Andris? I gained a few kilos from then and maybe the isolations would look more~ ;)
@@salsaandbachatalessons well, what I just realized trying to repeat after you is that - maybe the video should be mirrored? Because when you step forward with your left leg, moving hip to your left, it is on my right, so it is hard for me to mimic what I see because I need to do everything to the opposite side, to my left for example. What I did was put my laptop facing a mirror, then mimic looking at the reflection in the mirror, then we move the same way :D Also, for a very dumb like me, maybe you can also break it down to the level of, on each beat in music, what direction each part of body moves (hips, ribs, arms, shoulders: left or right / back or forward). I dance salsa periodically for 15 years now, but in my region nobody really teaches man body moves; every school has weekly lady styling, but nothing for the boys. I want to be better and dance with my entire body, with my entire soul, but looking good, not awkward and clumsy. So tnx again!
Also, in the beginning about the hips - maybe you can explain better the weight, on which leg what % is. Stamping on my front left foot going forward with hip is easy, but it feels awkward when going back with my right leg - is that normal?
@@Vepris123 Yes YES! you are sooo right~ The hips are a LOT more complicated and need more time and arrows in editing to help more! Love your ideas, will surly apply them Andris my friend!!!! :D :D And... YES, going BACK with opposite hips is NOT suppose to "feel" normal AT FIRST but through constant repetitions you will feel it as if its second nature to you~ + Usually if a move/step etc feels too easy it's not a Dance step~ ;) PS: when you step back: that exact step you do *already'! when you step forward 1 on the second beat (&step) STOP in that position!! It's exactly the same as the back step~ Hope this helps and again thank you so for your ideas, will use them all and not start from the hips as it will take longer and divide them into Numbered chapters~ It's one thing being a Dancer, another a UA-camr... LOL~
@@salsaandbachatalessons OK, I got how to step backwards, thank you for the tip!! Also, for me, maybe the bet starting point was actually ribcage - when I move it to the left on 1, my hip automatically moves to the right to keep the balance; also, left hand elbow automatically moves to the direction of chest, and a "cherry" is sholder going in circular motion backwards. It felt natural, and more or less the entire body felt good. Now it is just repetition to perfection. TNX for video!
@@salsaandbachatalessons it's much easier for to understand than Cap'n. Salsa. He has nice movement but oft times makes my head explode scanners style. I've noticed that if I keep my arms out, backwards roll feels natural. If I do the point to each shoulder, arms in, forward roll is less awkward. Thoughts? Maybe I'll apply each to what ever song dictates me to do.
