There's going to be stiff competition but they're definitely capable. This isn't a squad being built to win the league this season, but you can see the beginnings of a spine with Colwill, Cucurella, Caicedo, Palmer etc plus they have the two South American wonder kids to join next summer. As a rival fan, the fact they're ahead of schedule is worrying because their best players are all 21-22 so who knows how good they could be in 2-3 years time
Thank you for being objective. People forget that this team finished I think 5 points off top 4 place in a poor season and having an average of 12-14 injuries at a time last season and like you said they’re super young so it’s definitely a scary prospect if they continue this trajectory. I expect a bit more inconsistency this year from them, just not as much as last year but I think if they came that close last year in a poor season and now they’ve improved their depth, top 4 is a must this season and I think they’re capable and I don’t even think they need to but more players lol these guys are only gonna get better

I am not comfortable when the media starts to speak well of Chelsea's performance. Might be a bad omen for Chelsea. They are criminally sentimental and flip-flop with their analysis and predictions quite often

I have a theory:
Everyone Secretly loves Chelsea because CFC dethroned a Sir Alex Led Man United who dominated everyone.
The problem is Chelsea kept it going too long and now dominated everyone and now became villains.
Just like when Leicester won the league. Everyone loves new Champions but hate a team that wins too much🤷♂️
This isn't a theory. It's a fact. Chelsea became too big too quick

Top 6 is my ideal target with a trophy any trophy because our defense is not good we want to see the growth but if we get top 4 it will be greatly appreciated
Sorry but top 4 is a must for me. We finished 5 points off 4th last season averaging 12 to 14 injuries all season in what was a poor underperforming season and a newly assembled squad. With the players now knowing each other better and improvement in squad depth, top 4 has to be the minimum and I think the defence conversation is not as big as we’ve made it, we’re definitely gonna have better defence this year than previous year cos defence isn’t just about the defenders, it’s about the whole team and the structure and so far we’re seeing improvement game by game on this aspects so this team is definitely top 4 ready
I don’t think it’s that the defence is bad, just that the way the defence works in enzo’s system is unlike anything they’ve played with so it might take 5-10 games for them to get the hang of it and build chemistry and understanding with each other
The defensive personnel is there in terms of talent and quality I think we have one of the best defense in the league. We just need to properly organize, once that's sorted we'll be top 3 defensively.
We are talking Chelsea, not ArseNIL. Top 3 else it is bad season
Yes this man is spot on there still a lot of work to do with the defence but staying that I expect top 4 this season and to challenge in the next 2 years
The new UCL format means England has very real potential to have 5 UCL slots next (and every) season, so top 5 sounds like a good and realistic target this season. Maybe a title challenge in the next 3 seasons.

being a chelsea fan, tbh, i need a rest after all the trophy celebrations over the last 2 decades, my legs are tired after jumping up and down for 20 years. not really bothered about 4th 5th 10th etc, after the diabolical 70s 80s and early 90s, im happy with anything, like a drunk teenager at last knockings in a nightclub!!!!!! lol

My question goes to Darren Bent... What do you have to say about Leicester City who promoted and won the league the second year in EPL as compared to Chelsea team who have been around despite not performing very well?
A lot of the top teams massively underperformed when Leicester won the league.
So far, it doesn’t look like the top teams will drop off as much this year, for an underdog to spring a surprise by winning the league

Allow me to add a little context , the 5-nil loss to Arsenal came on a tue. away after losing to ManCity on the previous Sat. night in a cup semi-final.

I dont think we have any chance of winning the league. No real Chelsea fan should think we stand a chance. However, if Arsenal continue the way they are with all these petulant red cards and Liverpool hit a downward slump then we could be talking. Cos that Rodri injury has blown the title race wideee open IMO

It’s gonna be hard to finish in the top 4……that’s around 75+ points these days, to win the title you need to be around the 90/95 point mark, there abouts. I just can’t see us getting 75+ points and that’s top 4 standard nowadays!
This team, just before they play, nothing wrong, ( other than, my opinion - I think it should be true 2nd or 3rd team preferably against Barrow .... If we don't win ... Players gotta go or need a Roy Keane talking to ... I'm Chelsea tru & tru but some players ( Fofana & Colwill ) I want to go ... We could fill in easily
