Dag Simon. Bedankt voor de terugkoppeling hierover. We wisten niet dat handmatig aanpassen kon. Dit hebben we nu gedaan. Weer iets nieuws geleerd. Tot gauw

Hi, I could be wrong but I was told the way you tie the excess himo (at the end) is only used for Japanese funeral rites. Ideally the butterfly knot at the end should have a "cross" type of shape.
Just as a caveat, I could be wrong and you should do whatever your sensei deems appropriate.

Hi, The knot we use is fine. As far as we have been told it is a semi formal way of tying the himo. It is how we were taught. Maybe something of a sensei preference as we have seen several versions worn by different Japanese sensei. Thank you for your question

@@josephbevacqua9217 iaido is a Japanese traditional martial art. It is practiced by performing kata. You perform "fights" against an imaginary opponent through a described scenario. Typically this will be a response to an attack where you respond by drawing your sword an perform a cutting action in one motion(there are variations) This this can be followed up by a second cutting motion or stabbing, depending on the kata and the amount of opponents that the kata discribes.
