Carlos Ortiz is such a class act, got the honor to meet him here in Tucson Arizona and really took the time to take a picture with me.

Carlos is a solid dude. It seems like all the tour golfer from Mexico are genuine , men and women. I've been saying it for years, Pebble Beach is horrible this time of year. Move it!

I met him at a golf tournament. I was a caddy in the ProAm and he was our pro. He was so nice. He talked with the amateurs and even their caddies like myself. He was just a genuinely nice guy.
I absolutely love the team part of golf. My wife who generally hates golf went to a LIV event with me last year and she adopted the range goats as her team. Now when I am watching, she always wants to come in and see how her team is doing. My son and daughter both will watch golf now (which they never would before despite being high school golfers), Torque is their team. Of course, I am a Crushers fan.

Zero people on earth can name anything on earth that happened in a team format at LIV. Nobody cares.
To each their own. I don’t like the team golf. It’s a solo sport. I don’t need the team. That’s what football American football, basketball, baseball, hockey. Tennis and golf are okay to be solo. And play Ryder and presidents for teams once a year. But people like it, so be it. Not for everyone
@@SqueezeFade It’s cool. The feeder tour needs fans too. Glad you enjoy it. Golf is a team sport at all levels through college. Some people have a problem with change. Now that Rahm is on LIV, they have the best players in the world, no doubt. 3 of last 5 major champions tee it up on LIV. 14 of last 26 major champions tee it up on LIV. If the merger doesn’t happen, that’s just going to continue to grow in the coming years. Old time golf will still be around for you guys. Enjoy it.
@@Jackielikeskillersmiles Golf is a team sport all the way through college. No reason it wouldn’t continue being a team sport in the professional ranks. But whatever you like. Enjoy it. I find the team game so much more fun and especially now where all four scores count in the final round. There’s nowhere for any player to hide if they are not playing well.

I’ve listened to every Sub Par. I think you guys do an amazing job. It amazes me how polarizing the PGA Tour has made players seem who go to LIV - more so than Colt’s overt disdain for the league - even when interviewing a friend.
I don’t hate anything more than the indiscreet, strong-arming anti-competitive manner the Tour has had this whole time. Can’t make Imperial hats on LIV tour? Tent and concession companies being told they have to choose?

I don’t agree with paying for the wedding. Families don’t live by that anymore from what I’ve seen. I see so many couples paying for their own weddings

Odd how LIV players state they should be able to play on the PGA tour when they want, but they won't allow PGA players to join their tournaments. Odd!!!
Difference between a league and a tour. LIV may create a path for other players to join in as individuals. They have started with 2 spots. Sponsors exemptions or opportunity to qualify. Then again, if the merger doesn’t go through, they may also use the spots to promote people from PGAT to LIV during a season.

I said months ago when announcers were getting cute with his name that he needs to stock with A.....berg. I mean, it has to be A.....berg just for the sake of reason and logic. Could be one of the best ever. Don't get stupid.
He told them all how to pronounce his name during Ryder cup he did many interviews before and they still fumbled it through the whole thing. It’s the announcers fault they can’t phonetically sound it out. After he says his own damn name lol. It’s supposed to sound like “ Oh- Bare “

Colt is in between a rock and a hard place because he does on the course reporting and when the pga tour is paying him he has to toe the party line and talk up the pga while at work. As a former card carrying tour player I'm certain that he has strong opinions about LIV and the pga. ( I intentionally don't capitalize the pga because I'm pissed at their attitude and direction and don't give them respect at the moment ) I've been watching pro golf since the mid 60's so I've got some credibility when I say that they have become self centered and arrogant, and if they don't wise up they are are seriously going to tank. If I can play 8 events and earn $500,000 finishing dead last in every LIV event with no cuts and playing 54 holes AND split $3 million if my team wins, or play 48 tour events ( a super fucking grind even for a single person) and earn around the same amount without winning, guess where I'm going to play.
He seems to be a nice guy,...but like the rest of the players who went to LIV he doesn't seem to understand why the majority of the fans don't support LIV. Let me explain it to him, LIVs sole goal was to poach the top 50 players from the PGA tour, if they where successful it would have been the end of the PGA tour. Ortiz and the rest of the players who left were well aware of the devastating effects this would have caused the PGA tour, but they didn't care, they were only looking out for themselves, no loyalty to the other tour players or the tour that allowed them to become millionaires...
The PGAT execs said it exactly correct during the public hearings. If they don’t merge, LIV will take a handful of top players every year and in time, PGAT becomes a pure feeder tour for LIV. There is nothing they can do to stop it because PIF has no timeframe.
There are some people who don’t understand the economics and it’s funny, they think a $1.5-$3B investment makes any difference. It doesn’t.
LIV could spend $10B next year just to bring in more players and it would have virtually 0 impact on PIF profitability. PIF could literally set every $ PGAT makes every year on fire…burn it…and it would make 0 difference for them financially.
In the end, they will come back together.
Colt had a miscommunication. Someone told him that nobody has won a LIV event other than on the 18th hole. That cannot possibly be correct. Zero chance. Even Carlos was taken aback by that nonsense.

@@LegolasFan69 Colt was told that every win came on the 18th, and the way he said it you could tell he was talking about 18th hole, not the last hole of the tournament. They were talking about shotgun starts when he brought it up, so he meant actual 18th hole every time, which there is zero chance of.

It’s true that it can happen where someone comes from way back in the field. But something like 90% of all tournament winners come out of the last 2-3 groups.

Because he is. He's a known LIV hater and he doesn't try to hide it, don't let this dickhead try to gaslight you into thinking you're being too sensitive. Colt hates LIV and has no positive feelings towards Ortiz, the civility he did show here was something he had to force.
Ortiz has a disarming and innocent personality, so Colt knows he can't treat him the way he wants to treat him without catching hell for himself. But, he does subtly condescend to and patronize Ortiz constantly throughout this interview, which is par for the course with someone emotionally insecure like Colt.
I tried to watch this but I just can’t stand the whole LIV “attitude”. We’re not greedy we just want what we want and we want the PGA tour let us have what we want - even though we’re trying to decimate it.!! No thanks.
The team part of liv isn’t working. They need to find a way to play as a team, as partners, at least in one event.

It sounds like you literally don't even know what LIV is, like all you know is that someone called it "team golf" once and that's all you know. They play as teams and partners in every single event on the schedule. Colt and Drew - when are jumping on bandwagon?
These LIV guys are complaining about the world ranking points, and they were told that in order to get those points the tournaments had to do certain things and LIV won't do it. To me LIV is 'Pro Golf Lite'. Last weekend I started out watching the LIV tournament and after about an hour I switched to the PGA tournament and I never went back to LIV. I just have a hard time taking it seriously
If they keep screwing around not allowing owgr points to LIV golf, they will go to 72 holes.
Bryson has said they have a backup plan and it won't be good for the pga tour. I think that's what it is.
@@truth.74 they are a start up so they can do whatever they want. They already have players locked in. So Liv can do what they want to change and conform if they have to. I can’t imagine players who originally left would be happy with many changes they make it look like any old tour again
You completely misunderstand why OWGR refuses to give points to LIV. LIV has met their stated requirements multiple times, they've made several changes specifically design to meet requirements that OWGR claimed were necessary. There are also literally 10+ other global events that have no cuts and only 54 holes that actually receive full OWGR ranking points. You're a total idiot for not understanding this and still saying what you said.
That misunderstanding formed your entire opinion about LIV, your idea that it's a lesser form of pro golf is based on literally nothing but your emotions. Here's some life advice, stop shooting off at the mouth on topics you know you haven't researched well enough to have a qualified opinion on it. If you have any brains at all, you know damn well you're just mad that LIV is winning the popularity contest. Your opinion on LIV is worthless because you never gave it a chance to begin with and you never will, so there's nothing you can say about it that anyone will take seriously.
In fairness, the number of holes has 0 to do with getting OWGR points. They already award points to other professional tours that play 54 holes. OWGR has one mission, to rate the best players in the world.
They failed.
There are other organizations that have accurate ratings and you also know the ratings are accurate because when LIV golfers are in the fields the betting odds will closely mirror the other rankings NOT OWGR rankings.
So, net/net, OWGR is meaningless if you want to see who the best golfers in the world really are. If you want to say, OWGR has the list for majors…that’s fine, today. That will change because it’s in the best interest of majors to make sure they have stronger fields than the normal PGAT elevated events.
LIV is just a bad reality TV show. Even the team names are so stupid.
