his voice is great on record... live. oh boy. just like the rest of the band, they are pretty weak live. was super dissapointed the first time i saw them live.
@@amoredfist feels like one of those bands that are super tight on recordings and use a million takes to get the song perfect so it would be pretty hard to replicate live I guess. In contrast you have bands like Rammstein that sounds spot on both live and on record. Maybe even better live then on the record.
@@amoredfist don't know about that. I have seen them a couple of times and they always sounded great. Maybe you were just unlucky and saw them perform after a long tour which just naturally wears down a singers voice. Edit: Also don't know if you saw them recently but Serj is 50 now so obviously he's not gonna be able to perform the same way he was able to 20 years ago.
Listen, I’m 54 years old and I’ve been listening to rock for a very long time. System Of A Down is one of my favorite bands, they are brilliant. By the way, the way you’re talking about how you know this song makes me feel really fucking old, but it also makes me feel blessed that I grew up during the time where music was amazing.
Indeed.... I've you're in this style of music and even play in a band like these two..... Strange... It's a. Bym which belongs in the top 100 of metal/rock/heavy stuff list...
One of the greatest songs ever written, performed by one of the greatest bands to ever exist. 🤘🤘🙌🙌💕💕 Fun fact: All SoaD albums went platinum, and some went platinum in pre-release. Three of their albums debuted at No. 1 on US Billboard 200.
in the 00s this was on the radio a LOT. I remember when this came out shortly after they released the video for the song Chop Suey prior to the albums release (I think. It was a while back.). I was hyped for this album as I had seen them when they were new and nobody knew who they were touring on their first album a few months before they released their first ever single, Sugar, from their first album. So to see them go from playing in front of 30 people who were mostly like "Who even is this?" to becoming a huge worldwide hit with this song was awesome to see. They deserved it.
I still remember the first time I ever heard system of a down it was at the 99 ozzfest man that was a great concert the lineup was insane static x opened the main stage then system of a down, godsmack, primus, the deftones, rob zombie, slayer and ozzy
Bruh let them learn and discover. Music isn’t about “bruh how have you never heard this like you’re a metal band???” Music is an adventure, we don’t all take the same direction in it
As a grown man with ADD, this has been one of my favorite songs ever, and one of the best albums ever. The minute I heard this album in my teens I knew it was going to be legendary
5:32 - Yay, you caught it! If the lyrics say "eating seeds as a pastime activity", why not showing them doing exactly that in the video? :D They did something similar in Chop Suey, although not related to the lyrics: there's a point in the video where the band and some of the extras are eating take-out Chop Suey with chop sticks. : )
How old are u guys i'm 35 are u older than me i know this song and this band when i was 16 years old since 2002 what do u think and i'm not American i'm moroccan this song made me warm lot of years in winter all songs of system of a down made me warm in winter believe it or not
That is not correct. :) Toxicity is from their second album with the same name. Their first album was self-titled and their first released single was "Spiders" in February 1999 and the "Sugar" in May 1999 iirc.
Is that your boyfriend or husband? He really didn't know what to do, he just was vanilla bland barely caught a beat, you were rocking at the end and he's just there.
One of my favorite bands when I was younger. Serj has one of those voices you recognize anywhere.
Also one of my favorite bands when I was younger...and I'm now 67.

I also think the vocals are mixed extremely well on all their records but can easily get lost in the mix live.

I can’t believe that someone didn’t hear that )
