By now, anyone planning on opening a mini PC case should know to do it carefully so as not to mess up the wifi and/or sata cable, and it's workable. But there's no excuse for the length of that camera ribbon cable - especially as they sell a barebones version of this. What surprised me is how much I like that display, when I never like those kinds of things but this one seems to work well, but not enough to justify the price. Still, I've been looking forward to this review!
Can never understand a manufacturer making a barebones unit that is so hard to access internals, when knowing the very first thing you are going to need to do is take it apart to get it to function?. I have been looking at the MS-01 and MS-A1 and whilst the 01 is really easy to access, with just a basic button press to remove the outer casing, the A1 requires multi screw removal, and the A1 comes as a complete barebones without even a CPU!. As i don't really need a graphics for its purpose, i'm favouring the MS-01, which also has the bonus of an internal pcie gen 4x8 slot. Minisforum are not he only manufacturer that requires you to remove rubber feet to access the case screws, but selling a unit as barebones would surely make internal access a priority of design, as they have managed to do with the MS-01?.
Huge fan of your videos but still been on the fence, looking for a great option for video editing up to 6k files? Would you have any suggestions that come to mind?
@@Robtech So out of all the reviews so far this was the most responsive with edits? Thank you?! Would it be worth waiting a bit to see what the new year brings as well?
97C in Australia during the Winter there and with new thermal paste application? Tsk tsk tsk. Too bad as I actually liked everything else, other than the disassembly of course.

5:42 Best Review Part
Thanks for the review. For me the Cons outweigh the Pros on this one.

This CPU will be the best editing experience for a mini PC this size. I haven't tried 6K though, but a much weaker Intel chip can handle 4K.

Intel's new Lunar Lake shouldn't be far away. I assume it will be the first quarter of 2025.

The stand is included?
One thing Apple has taught me is that if a stand does not cost at least an extra $999.
It's no good.

Yes
Why wouldn't they make the screen work off the bios and regardless of OS? That is 100% failure IMO. Linux is more and more sensible for these mini's.
That screen is useless. And a fingerprint magnet
gimmicky at its finest
