- Girls on Games got the chance to speak with BABYMETAL after their performance at Heavy Montreal 2014. We spoke about touring with Lady Gaga, meeting Yoshiki of X-Japan, what the girls do in their down time and who they would like to collaborate with.

At the end of the vid, the girls bowed lower than the interviewer's bow to show respect.......Such well-mannered young ladies ;)
SamCrusader1 Yes it is respect they show but it is also 100/s of years of tradition added. Even though they hate foreigners I have the utmost respect for them and their culture. If only my country can have such culture. Only thing my country thinks of is "Lets get rid of all the whites and chase away all the foreigners so we can take back the country they "stole" from us." The UK banned us from migrating to their country since they say we drink to much. which is kinda true.

SamCrusader1 Lol. Nah hate this country power outages cause the government thought it would be awesome to share 70% of the countries power to a neighbouring country that is like a 1/10 of ours in size and with the 2010 soccer world cup has also cause an 80% increase of unemployment..

Péter Kovács I don't think anyone can ever decide who is the cutest but I kind of thing as Su as more of the mother figure of the group, don't get me wrong she's still cute but you know.
+Chloe Boulter She was the president of the idol studio the three girls come from. In each studio one girl is assigned the task of being strong for the other girls and always offering encouragement, so yes, the other girls do look up to Su, and she in turn looks after them. It's probably why she did all the talking as the other 2 girls would defer to her as their leader.
shadowheart52 Actually, Su was the member-leader of just 1 Idol group (Sakura Gakuin) from Amuse, Inc. And only during her last year in the group. The group "Concept" is that of a girls school (Cherry Blossom Academy). Moa was the "Student Council President" 2 years later, being her and Yui's last year in the group. Su is 1½ years older. Babymetal was formed as a sub-group of Sakura Gakuin during its first year in 2010, but because of its popularity became its own group upon Su's "graduation" from SG in March of 2013.
Interestingly, in a previous interview (for a Japanese channel) they revealed how their entire kitsune mythology came about: right back when they started, they were doing a photoshoot and the photographer tried to make them do the standard metal horns. One of the girls said something to the effect of "That looks like a fox!", the photographer said something to the effect of "I can work with that", and so some bright spark in the creative team came up with the kitsune mythology backstory, which understandably ties heavily into Japanese kitsune folklore.

I don't have any problem with color or sexuality, only thing that bugs me is religion, I wish I could burn every goddamn church, I lived in the US for a long time, after I graduated in college, I never had any problem with people, actually I made good friends, maybe because I'm white with a Texan accent LOL the only thing that I didn't like was paying 20 bucks for a theater ticket in LA, highway robbery.

They've actually told the real story behind the genesis of the fox sign in an early Japanese interview, they were being shown metal videos and were told to copy the sign and they did it wrong because that's how you do a fox in shadow play, and the management realized, hey let's run with this.

it is so awesome how far these young ladies have come and grown i give the interviewer credit for knowing the band and for how professional and welcoming she was with the girls. with all the division there is now of days it is good to see they are welcomed into the metal community and accepted after all the nay sayers on how what they play isnt real metal or that they wouldnt last, i am glad they are proving all them wrong for it is hard to get into music let alone a music deal and be female and from another country

If you haven't seen it, look up "Babymetal guess what is inside", and the behind the scenes too. It's one of the few times (heck probably the only time now that I think about it lol) that Yui and Moa are the centre of attention, which is good for a change!

For people keep questioning why Moa-Tama and Yui-Tan didn't speak, it's because Suzuka-Senpai would be what is called the representative of the group. Therefore, she speaks for BabyMetal. If any interviewer ask directly to either girls, then they would speak. Unless it was noted that they are general questions beforehand.

Secondly, Suzuka-senpai is definitely the representative of the group. in Japan, it's more often that in any group, the Eldest of the group is to speak out.
Lastly, it's not uncool to say chan, tan, san, senpai, sama, tama, etc. that's totally your idea.it's adorable to call Moa-sama, my sama, to me. it's not disrespectful AT ALL. who the hell is your friend man. saying Moa-sama merely mean i look up to her. Yui-tan, is merely the cute way to say Yui-san, she's not my san, but i didn't want to say chan, as it cannot be used with a "t". and i already explained why i say suzuka-senpai.
Yes if you know the person then yes its not. But if you know nothing then it is. Add-ons are considered a friendly add-on for close personal friends or relationships.

If you mean legal sex age with "that age", no, only Su has been over that age for more than 1 year. The legal age there is the same as it's here in Germany, 14 years.

0:29 For those wondering what the REAL answer to this is... The girls were supposed to do a traditional metal sign but inadvertently did the Kitsune sign. Someone (I'm guessing the creator of Babymetal) liked the sign and decided they should keep it. I'm not sure if that's how they came up with the Fox God mythology or if that was already planned and the Fox sign happened later. Either way, cute story. :)

The subtitles don't really convey how polite Su is. It is hard to translate, though. For instance, when she talks about people wearing Babymetal T-shirts in the Lady Gaga crowd, she uses a phrase that would translate something like: "kindly gave us the wearing of Babymetal T-shirts".

My first thought was WTF. When I checked out the members of KAMI band, they really have some talented musicians backing them up. On their own the girls would be just like any average jpop group. I would rather see the guys do their own show without the girls.

I just have a quick question: What religion is the Fox God (I feel like this should be capitalized.. idk) because the girls have just started talking about it in their more recent interviews (i.e. in their hot wave interview they say "it's because they couldn't do the original horns when they first started,") I'm not making any fun of it, I'm just curious.

I believe the Fox god, or Kitsune, is one of the characters of Shinto, the traditional religion of Japan. Also, the "Kami' name for the Babymetal band means "God" in the Shinto religion. I'm pretty sure it's all a part of the parody that is Babymetal's "backstory".
