Hello everyone, for all of you who might be worried, I just want to say: I WILL NOT USE THIS FONT AGAIN :D. I chose it to emphasize the fairy tale theme. you also don't need to be worried that I will continue to expand my "poetry" on the channel in the future. I just wanted to do something fun & special for you for the start of the year. 👍
Nothing wrong with the poetry, the different style or the font. He who doesn't appreciate the artistic originality of this particular video needs a restoration of his own, which you may not be able to provide though.
Great work on this lock, but I think the gold leaf was a bit over the top. You did get it working again and overall the video was a pleasure to watch. Thanks for sharing. 😁👍🇺🇸
Hey Paul, When I edited the video I also thought to myself "The cover looked really good when it was just nickel plated". But it was done already and like I said: My hope is, that the gold rubs off on the higher parts of the pitting and reveals a lot of the nickel plating finish. See you on the next one ?!
Okay, the Amazing Dr. Beer is at it again! Firstly, your videos are absolutely mesmerizing. The editing and attention to detail is a work in itself. Love the added twists, like the treasure chest which makes it fun. So creative. The restoration challenges are varied but you always have a solution. The plastic mold in another video for the coffee grinder was on a new level. Who thought you could bring this lock would come back to life? Bravo Dr. Beer. I am hooked. I will have to buy you a beer 🍺
I think the gold would've been fine if you had coated all the body parts, except the rivets of course. Just looked off with the gold AND black. @@NTRprojects
Very nice work! I would not have thought it possible to restore that lock. I was impressed with the poetry! I lived in Germany for many years when I was young and learned German well; and it gave me an appreciation for how difficult English is by comparison. To write poetry in English is impressive! Also, that beer... we had Tucher in the Hunsrück too. But I preferred the Pilsner. Most often we had Königsbacher locally. Very good though. Thank you for your videos. Always a pleasure to watch.
Once in a while a storry was told, Of a lock in in lake whichs was old. I listened with joy to this little story, and thought by myself "a keyway full glory".
I showed the old padlock to my granddaughter (10) and wanted to show her immediately the renovated result. But she wanted to see the process. Her brothers (8 and 5) came to us and all three watched fascinated the video and were very very impressed. Just like me. Wonderful!
I was thinking this lock would be toast, but with a bit of hard work, this one would be to boast. Lovely work Dr. Beer. Another nice restoration done here.
Barely believable that that hunk of iron oxide could be turned into a functioning mechanism again. Doc, you are truly a miracle worker. Nice one and happy new year to you.
Nicely done! You worked a lot of neat components there - almost lost my supper when you started pouring the dirt back into the lock! 😂 Extra points for Japaning (I think @Hand Tool Rescue will appreciate this) and also for gold leafed, nick plated, tinned pitted metal plates! I never realized you could plate on solder - that is pretty cool. Great video!
This was a beautiful restoration for a piece that I am sure holds a secret history that is begging to be told. Thank you for being conscientious of that.
Happy New Year To Herr Doktor Beer I'm disappointed a Nurnburger beer didn't score higher as I've actually been there at least twice, but I was too young to sample their beers. Nice restoration, I never thought you would do it when I first saw the padlock. Well done, nice to read your rhyming couplets too!
A great restoration with retention of the patina caused by rusting. Personally, I would not have used gold leaf or gold paint, but would have left it nickel plated. But of course, that's a matter of taste.
Now this is beyond restoration, this is pure art. Thank you, sir, for this masterpiece. I am truly astounded and moved buy your techniques and result at the same time. Poetry, on the other hand... is ok =)
That was really a joy to watch! I didn’t think that this lock would’ve come out that nice, since it was in a pretty horrible state before! The story telling is so out of the box, I really liked it 🙏🏼 thanks for sharing!
🎉. Nice work! You definitely locked the story in time! You should send your video to Lock Picking Lawyer! That lock has some great history to it, and you put it a tuxedo for its retirement years!!
@@NTRprojects I completely agree!!! The video he will enjoy. The lock you put ALOT of time and $ into making it work and look really nice again. Keep your work to enjoy for yourself! Its these kinds of things we all would love to get as a heirloom from our dad’s! Keep it and enjoy it!
Excellent video mate. I didn’t think I would be interested but yet again your attention to detail just keeps bringing me back. Happy New year to you too.

Chapter 12… And there among the appraising crowd stood a woman who badly needed a sign that angels of peace and war were watching over her beloved Knight and that she could find a fairy godmother to heal her father and fight off the evil sister-in-law having almost brought him to his death. A fairy godmother there might not be, but here between a pot of gold and a red beer, she saw a fairy smith. Could this Nibelung offspring be the Irish Goibniu in disguise?” Thank you for the moment of relative solace watching your great contribution.
Nice one Doc, this video is going to be a hit. Saving a padlock that is completely.... Going to be hard work, but ultimately satisfying for all that watch. Keep up the good work.

Nice project.... not the biggest fan of the gold. Great work. thank you.

Awesome comment. Thank you so so much Bryce
Erstklassige Arbeit, mein Guter.....das war mal was anderes und sehr interessant. TOP.
Loved the fireworks, nice touch. Beautiful job!
This is not a restoration, this is art !
Now THIS is what I call a restoration! Not like so many others that does a quick clean and slaps on a half ass paint job and calls it done
Hey Dahlmasen. Thank you so much. Such a feedback makes my day and is worth all the work
As for rivets, he never once panics,
He makes new ones, like Swiss 'my mechanics'!
Thank you for picking up the spirit 👍👍👍
Fantastic job!!
And best whises for this year.

Great restoration
Thank you very much Bing
