It’s nice to be given something you didn’t know you deserved or needed, certainly. Funny enough I found this punk music as a young person too, albeit a decade and a half later.
Why arent there more Plugz live videos from this era? I first saw them in early '83 in Long Beach, Ca. and was blown away. Saw them a couple times after that and would sure like to see some of those early shows again.
There's very little video footage of that early scene floating around in general. A handful of punk fans bought cameras around 1984 and began filming shows, which is why you'll find a lot of sets from Fender's Ballroom and the Olympic Auditorium and some of those later venues on UA-cam. But documentation of the early scene is mostly comprised of live audio, news/documentary footage, and venue-operated cameras in a few rare cases. I know there was a house camera at the Starwood, as a few sets have filtered out - the Minutemen in 1980 is one, I think there's a Dickies video as well? - and there were a couple of sets at the Whisky that were filmed where the videos share many characteristics, so that may have been a club camera as well, but I'm not certain. The Flesheaters in 1981 is one... I can't recall the other videos off the top of my head but they are out there. In terms of documentary/tv footage, you could check out The Slog Movie (1982), Urban Struggle (1981), What's Up America (1979/80). Maybe you've already seen all of these, but if not, they're all worth a watch!
monday, november 8, 2021 is there anyone who could tell me where to really find the whole bunch of *the plugz* lyrics ? above all, the ones from the *electrify me* album. this is part of the *ENERGETIC MUSIC* I listened to when I was a teenager. and I still do it. many LP records from the past contained the lyrics: *suburban lawns,* *wire,* *the decline of the western civilization ( soundtrack ),* the canadian band *the diodes,* the first album by the mexican band *dangerous rhythm ...*
Plugz, Flyboys and the Crowd at Costa Mesa Boys Club rec room in '78. Historic 1st punk gig in Orange County, CA. Was blessed to be there!
RIP Charlie Quintana ... really good drummer and really nice person
He’s killing it during every performance I’ve ever seen him play. Definitely brings a lot of energy to the sound. RIP indeed Charlie
Best punk band ever
one of my all-time favorites from the entire New Wave Theatre days. This show was a lifeline for me as a teen in Billings, Montana in the early 80's
Same here but in Green Bay, WI!
same here: Casper WY ultra-dullard-ville

Thanks for that info. I have one Gun Club show on VHS thats great, Saw them in Newport Beach in 82 or 83. @@cftvdata
super the most soulful band ever to play.
kick ass song and performance. thanks for bringing back
The band that backed Bob Dylan on his 1984 Letterman Show appearance. Pretty cool!
One of the best Dylan performances with a band that perfectly matched his intensity. Dylan intended to call them again but it never happened.
I recognize the bass player and drummer from Letterman but the singer is different.
@@letsif Bob later called Charlie Quintana & travelled /played with him (he told me some hilarious stories!..which I’ll respectfully not tell RIP)

Who would of thought Titio would go on to be in Top Hollywood Films like Desperado and From Dusk til Dawn.
Tony Zeno Don’t forget the Patrick Swayze movie ROAD HOUSE. In the opening scene he’s playing at the bar that Patrick is about to quit working at! 😎
ahh !! You sure done Mexico proud
Hey, these guys played at my high school in 1980 during lunch and a food fight ensued to stop the show. Wow. Who woulda thunk it?
What high school?
