From Miami Vice Season 5 Episode 17 “Freefall”: Crockett and Tubbs, figuring they're on their way out, are recruited by the government to help a dictator escape from his war-torn country - with double-crosses at every turn.

Miami Vice is known for its flash. But us die hard fans know that the acting by Sonny, Rico, Switeck, & especially Castillo is all top tier.
Crockett just looks and sounds pushed to the limit here.
Kinda sounded like Michael Douglas....
"And if you don't tell me where those boys have my partner, I'm going to turn that wall into an expressionist painting." Sonny didn't play especially when it came to Rico.
I watched a lot of these series, to be honest. They never will get boring
love MV
This show is such a masterpiece.
You know I was trying to think of a comment to write, and here you are saying it so eloquently, I couldn't have said it better myself! Nicely put......
you got that right
NOTHING COMPARED TO MIAMI VICE!!!
Don's acting in this scene is more than enough to send chills up your spine.
It is So Awesome and Badass! Compelling stuff...not to mention intimidating...
Great scene!
I might add, Crocket's hair game was amazing here! 🔥
"His hair was perfect" . . .
He had the best hair in TV history😊
His hair was always gorgeous !
Never missed an episode. Crockett is the best TV cop of all time. Spine chilling how good this scene is.
Yes!!! Spine chilling is an excellent adjective...notice here how when he smiles in response to his captain and chuckles, his eyes aren't really smiling but are on fire...Intimidating and Dangerous 2:06-2:09
I hate when you people diss Tubbs like that
Best cop show ever, no contest!
Crockett looks like he's getting ready to be the next lead singer of Whitesnake....
Crockett here was die trying. He’d do anything to make sure Rico was safe and sound. A true friend and partner.
and like brother
Racism would be dead if we lived like Crockett and Tubbs. I’m white and gen X we had less racism then.
@@normantrapp9689 most definitely, or like Riggs and Murtaugh from Lethal Weapon. I had a friend named John, I looked at him like a younger brother. He had my back, I had his. May god rest his soul. Me and him were like Crockett & Tubbs in middle school.
@@floridaloveclifton5175 Sorry for your loss, man. 🙏🏻♥️
@@fever_spike Ik I’m late but thank you
One of Don's best moments in the series - he's truly intense here and it puts paid to those who say Season 5 didn't have good moments.
Love these scenes from "Freefall"! Keep them coming!
if you compare the Sonny Crockett of season 1 with the one of season 5, he really is burned out. Sometimes i think that even Don Johnson was burned out by season 5. We were all sad when MV came to an end but realistically there was no way that the show could have continued.
Not really, the writing just sucked season 4-5.
The 80's had come to and end... Just like all good things!
@@fowchiiiliedpuppiesdied It did not.
After the death of Caitlin, he lost the meaning of life, and the love for this work.
Yes - and even if we were to keep to just the character of Sonny Crockett - it becomes the cautionary tale told over and over again about the vice cop rolling that rock uphill in a Sisyphus act of justice, only to watch crimelords and slime buckets get off on technicalities while innocent people get trampled in the process. It is a cautionary tale of the vice cop blues...
Tim Truman made a Masterpiece with his music in the 5 season. By a tone thriller in this scene. Freefall amazing episode. 🔝❤️
Bewildering comment
Crockett, yep he's burnt out by all his years on Vice and working undercover. By this Season he's sporting a mullet (something that was popular with action stars on Film & TV in the 80's from Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon to Don Johnson here in Miami Vice).
Don't forget Swayze in Roadhouse.
Pretty sure that's not a mullet.
Especially in season 5, they built up the stress and helplessness of being a vice cop - especially good ones that see the reality - until it became inevitable that Crockett and Tubbs would quit.
Roddy piper in they live (1988) had the same hair, Stallone in rambo 3 as well.
It's not a mullet. A mullet is long in the back, short in front. Crockett is sporting long hair.
The DP did a masterful job of hitting the long close ups for Johnson and Thomas
I love the "Freefall" ♥️
Jan hammer background music is awesome sets the tone. Best show ever
Tim Truman took over the score in S-5.
Not Hammer, Truman in season 5
@@robingp I just said that.
Hope they upload the “bad attitude” clip.
I recorded every episode for all 5 seasons on Beta lol. then some time in the 90’s bought the entire BOX set!! I was Sonny Crockett for gods sake… lol. Amazing TV show and I miss those days
0:02 "I am too old for this sh..."
Τhank you!!
We 💟 miami Vice💟
I’m no burnout, pal.
You got that right pal
Miami Vice for ever !! Η σειρά ήταν τέλεια και πολύ μπροστά για εκείνη την εποχή γι αυτό έχει φανατικούς οπαδούς σε ολο τον κόσμο!!❤️
Incredible episode!😊💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙😎👍
People say 3, 4 and 5 are bad…I highly disagree.
Agreed. Season 5 was off the charts.
I agree...things change, people change and the show developed...like humans do. The music was reflective of the darkness and reality of what this line of work can do to people. It might have been able to go a few more seasons, but because it didn't...it locked itself into being a quintessential part of the 2nd half of the 80s. Great show
i love then all.
Maybe season 4 was a bit bad, but 3 and 5 definitely was adding more realism to each episode plot.
3 was great imo
Casting department should have accepted every award this show ever won. Springboard for every major talent to make it in the 90's. They say 40% of wall street CEO's have McDonalds on their resume. Same percentage of every name talent today has this show on their resume.
Burnett just had enough
Episodes 21 & 22
(I know, in _airdate_ terms, this feature-length episode is on the latter-middle part of the season; shame on the suits at the network) 🎬
Other than the obtuse scheduling, this finale is one of the BEST farewells ever, up there with those for DS9, original Magnum PI ( _both_ 1987 and 1988 iterations), and Cheers!
This scene has neo noir all over it, including with the moody and foreboding background music by Tim Truman.
my brain is like swiss cheese........ and I have no idea what I might do
TE AMOO CROKER RUBIO HERMOSO
From experience, you just get to that point where enough is enough and any outcome doesn’t matter…..the end is out of your control.
It’s maybe I am burnt out, not burnout.
Masterpiece always 😊
Loved that show!!! Don’t make em like that anymore !!!!!
Burn out, Fall out, Crockett, and thee end of vice. 🌴. True classic Cop show. Later, Mikey from 🌞 South Florida ..
Yes, Finally !!!!
Great show!!
🏆🏆🏆👍🇺🇲🙏
Thank you for sharing
Classic television at it's absolute finest
2/2/22 awesome upload
THE JOINT BEST PROGRAME EVER ALONG WITH BRITAINS THE SWEENEY
Thenks
Season 5 was so bad, but the finale did do justice to the series.
Johnson" will Last Forever!
They used that last line in the 2006 Miami Vice movie
02:15 Tell me it's the 1980s without telling me it's the 1980s
Good times, even without usb drives full of evidence
😂😂😂
4:10
Miami vice expetacular seriado oss
Suenate un pase por las nargas!
SONNY to the rescue...
By this time Crockett was too old to be a vice cop, and Johnson was too old to play one. :)
Don Johnson was still in his 30's when MV ended.
laceless brogues 😅
ZO GOOD 😎❤
i have to break and get ready for some, maybe great entertainment.
Why does Robert DeNiro get so much credit as an actor compared to Don Johnson despite Don being so much better at acting.
Because Don is so good looking, some people dont take him seriously. It's a shame
Lol Don is great but I don’t think he’s on DeNiro’s level 😂😂
Don Johnson can't wipe deniros shoes as a actor. He was a good TV actor where the writing and style of the show made him look really good
@D G Wow
@@MoneyMakingMitchNY Well, De Niro became a whiney leftist snowflake, and is unwatchable, as a result...unlike Johnson, sooooo yeah.
well it cut's off.
how is it i do not remember this episode
Hey wow what timeline are you from? might be Chrissy...
Sonnrelindos tubbs y sonny
Very nice haircut!! Please name haircut...
🤔
I always wanted to see that expressionist painting, but it was satisfying to see Highsmith shot in the face by Montoya later on.
He’s supposed to say impressionist painting
Well crocett was a cop not an art lover. The guy got the point 😂
By how this UA-cam channel is going, there will be no footage left to upload in a few months.
call me crazy but I believe if you show that clip to WB or WM, I believe they would offer the role of Batman to Don Johnson, now that would be an experience to behold.
He would have been the sexiest James Bond since Sean Connery. Don / Crockett are both dreamy in a tux
@@lindacollins903 well the only thing that works against him is the fact that he can't hide that distinct American charm he has but I'll bet at the very least he would've made a memorable Felix Leiter.
@@thegladve He may be charming, but did you see him in Guilty as Sin? He can play evil really well too. And he was very manipulative in The Hot Spot. Check them out.
@@lindacollins903 already have, this is why I'm convinced that if he really committed he could have been an interesting Batman since he already has the detective shtick down to a T and he can really portray scary guys.

First? :)
Boy, did this show lose it, and fast. Season 1-2. Maybe 3, screw the rest.
Nonsense. All of them are cool.
