The concern in Siberia may be unstable foundations, but the implications for the world are dire, as it proves feedback loops have already initiated. Even if we could stop putting so much carbon into the atmosphere each year, it wouldn't stop that momentum forcing feedback loops. Think of it as a slingshot effect with a 35 year delay (thermal inertia) from emitting CO2 to the resuling effect it has. We have to wait until 2056 just to see the inertial effect of what we've already put into the atmosphere, let alone the billions of tons we'll continue to emit into the future.

The signs of climate change and it’s devastating effects on our world is all around us and your still trying to make this a right or left thing, shame on you. You talk about people’s livelihoods, what about your children and their children’s livelihood. There’s not a multiverse of worlds we can move too if and when this one becomes uninhabitable so why not be part of the solution, not part of the problem

Yeah but so? It's not like humans have the ability to change. It's not in our nature. The tiny percentage of people up in arms about climate change will change their tune when told how much they would actually have to change their lifestyle in order to make any difference. They think driving an electric car a block to buy a pint of ice cream is saving the planet. Willfully clueless.

@@chungefoose7323 You are great at ignoring science. The science is really simple. Carbon Dioxide and Methane trap more infrared radiation. A simple experiment is to fill a clear plastic box with air and another with carbon dioxide or methane, then leave it in sunlight and measure the temperatures. @rodylermglez 3 роки тому +25

People often think of two or three degrees of rising temperature as "not that big of a deal" but they fail to account for the sheer size of the body we are talking about.
A rough estimate of the amount of heat you need to heat the atmosphere of our planet one degree is in the order of zettajoules and for all the oceans is in the order of yottajoules (that is 10^24 or a digit followed by 24 zeroes).
For reference, the heat produced by the Hiroshima bomb was in the order of tens of trillions of Joules; that is, to heat up the planet's weather by a degree you need to make the whole planet's atmosphere to retain an excess equivalent of 100'000'000s atomic bombs worth of extra heat. Double that figure for two degrees. If you are talking about ocean temperatures we are talking about 1000 times this heat, so 1000 times the equivalent in atomic bombs it is.
Also, yeah, you can google more accurate math calcs people have done if you think this is an exaggeration. Or better yet, do the math yourself. You just need to know about specific heat which is a physics topic taught around ninth grade in schools.

What you’re missing is that this is the first time it’s ever been accelerated and we don’t know if it would even stop. The environmental damages would be huge, we as a species would be facing ever increasing water levels and hurricanes due to changing climate vortexes. We can't switch our entire electrical grid over to solar, wind, geothermal, etc., however. These technologies, while greatly improved over the deceades in efficiency, just can't do what nuclear can. Apparently it barely made a dent in emissions. It's almost like climate change is actually caused by large companies that should be taking responsibility or something...
