As the sun began its descent, casting long shadows across the wintry landscape, the 16317 Himsagar Express chugged along its journey from Jhansi to New Delhi. Passing through the rugged terrain of the Chambal Ghaati between Gwalior and Dholpur, memories of the region's history as a haunt for dacoits in olden days lingered in the minds of passengers.
As dusk settled upon the land, the train approached Agra Cant station, where the glow of city lights started to pierce through the gathering darkness. While the train didn't have a commercial stop at Mathura Junction, it made a technical halt, allowing a brief moment to glimpse the surroundings before continuing its journey towards the capital.
The Mathura-New Delhi section unfolded under the cloak of night, with the rhythmic clatter of wheels on tracks lulling passengers into a state of tranquil anticipation for the adventures ahead. By the time the train pulled into New Delhi station, it was already 9 in the night, signaling the end of this leg of the journey.
With the promise of a new day looming on the horizon, passengers prepared to retire early, eager to greet the first light of morning as the train traversed the Punjab dominion and ventured into the pristine beauty of Jammu and Kashmir. Episode 7 of the Himsagar Express's epic voyage concludes here at New Delhi, but the final portion, where the train delves deeper into the enchanting lands of Jammu and Kashmir, awaits.
