I enjoyed this tour very much. My husband and his cousins, were some of those kids who treated the cemetery as a playground, in 1950 through 1954. They pretended the tombs were forts and long houses. We walk through each time we're back. It's fun listening to their stories. I always stop and visit Anne Guerard's grave just inside the gate. She was 41 and died while giving birth to her 15th child.
My Ancestors Captain Thomas Amis January 1 1744-4 December 1797 Served in Commissary Agent 6th And 7th North Carolina Regiment 1776-1779 And He Served As North Carolina Senate 1788-1789 And He Was A Former Member Provincial Congress in 1776 And He Was The Justice of Peace. Fascinating! I love visiting old cemeteries and look around and contemplating what the person’s life was. Would love a tour with this woman

Lots of Revolutionary war history in Savannah.
Never thought before what graveyards might have smelled like before embalming and cremation
