I commented that I got laid off a couple weeks ago, but just wanted to let you know that I got hired at a new firm, and I’m actually making 2x what I was before!
I am using a hysa and saving monthly for my grandson, I also have looked into cds since you can lock a high rate if you choose 1 year or even 9 months. I have mine automatically moved each month like an automatic payment. I love being a grandparent. Also my grandson has an envelope that I put money in each month that I can use to buy whatever I want to for him, just because I sometimes see things on clearance or he may need diapers or wipes so I just use that money to purchase things for him whether it be for now or for his birthday/Christmas/ or other holidays that you might purchase something for him/her. This is just how I do it and I know people might think that is silly but if I budget for it then I know I have it.
Hey Besties!! In today's video I am showing how I am unstuffing sinking funds and stuffing cash envelopes. I am showing in a very detailed view. I hope that you enjoy!
I can't speak to the best way to save for kids but I did a quick calculation. If you saved 46.30 per month she would have $10k at 18. And that does not include interest. I'd probably just start with a hysa at first. Great video friend!! ❤
Now i have ally accounts for my kids at the moment, but do want to put that money in accounts that will build more money. Now for my mom, idk if she saved for each specific grand kid (she now has 8) but i believe she has a savings account for anything that comes up for her kids and grandkids. Like my nephew needed a bed and she bought it. My sisters car broke down, and she paid it. That kind of thing where she can do random acts of kindness.
I failed to save any money for my son. But I didn’t save anything for myself either. I was pretty stupid and didn’t know better. I’d do it differently if I could do it again. If you can save a little something for your granddaughter, that’d be awesome.
A new law went into effect that if the grand child doesn’t use it for schooling it can move to an IRA. Also you can move the money between children. If one of them didn’t need it because they had scholarships.
Hello Just a suggestion For groceries/ attempting online shopping.. since you're new and skeptical, you can: 1, leave the 150 in the bank and do the shopping, or 2, take the 150 out, do the online shopping and whatever you do use for ahopping, put that amount back in the bank... so it's like security either way since you're a little uncomfortable, LOL
I do save money by grocery pick up. Always sending an incentive like 7.00 off a 50.00 purchase. Also you only order what you need and no impulse purchases! Give it a try
To answer your question on saving money for grandchildren. I save $25 each every time I get paid. And once $1000 is reach I will put the money in a high yield savings account for each of them to have on their 18th birthday from me.
Hi i’m Sharon from Australia. I plan to save for my grandchildren when they arrive. I had good intentions with my children but money wasn’t plenty for us. Over here we have children’s bank accounts that earn higher interest and no fees until they are 18th old. I think i’ll be opening these accounts.
I love shopping online for pickup the best thing that has made my life easy especially after a 10 hr shift. Lately I been paying the membership boost was in a car accident not able to drive so it pay it to save on service fee delivery fee since I order groceries once a week i rather pay 12.99 a month than 10 bucks every order plush they come with their own sales and perks with the boost membership with Kroger and I have the option to shop at Ralph’s or food 4 less. But I enjoyed pickup and will do it again when I get back to driving cause it’s helpful sometimes it’s a draining going into the store after work. It’s nice for the to bring them out and you check the bags to make sure all items are there.
That’s a good question. I haven’t started a savings account for my grandson yet but planning to do one soon. I do have a savings account for my 8 years old son. His grandma gives him $20/month to put in it but my husband and I contribute what we can each month.
I don't save money for my grandchildren but I do have life insurance for them and I have 3 different life insurance for myself one for each of my children.
I’m saving for my child. I do a high yield savings account. I wasn’t comfortable with the saving account, ie the one for college. It’s been working out so far. I personally save the money i get for her weekly form Child support!
I save $20+ each month for my grandson in a cash envelope and match that amount into his saving. The monthly money is to do fun things together or valentine, Easter gifts. I also buy most of my groceries online but I set aside $50 in a cash envelope if I need to stop for a few things. That grocery rollover goes into a Costco cash envelope. Great video
@@BudgetTreasures Aww that’s great!! I’m glad that all is well with you and your family. I’m doing good. Just on this health & budgeting journey. Everyday is a struggle with being consistent and finding a system that works for me 😩😂.
Love the video, I don't have no grandkids but that's a good idea to start a high yield savings account for college or car etc. Do a regular saving challenges for back to school and after school programs. When she is a little older like 5 start a investment account.
I’m so glad I found you!! I been looking for you all day!!! You used to just pop up in my algorithm but my kids😅😅😅😅 that’s all ima say! But I’m glad I found you your videos are so helpful and I’m getting back to being on top of all aspect of my finances mainly gettin out of debt. ❤but hey girl hey!!!
Hey girl Heyyyyy!!! 😂 I understand...When my niece comes over she swarms my youtube...Yasss!! For reference, I upload new videos every Sunday, Monday, and Thursdays....Sometimes I upload daily...mainly at the end of the month....But I'm right here with you...March is the month to jump back on track...I want our situations to be soooo different next year March....We can do hard things!
New subscribers 🎉 Great video…my parents make different investments for all of their grandchildren and they also buy savings bonds throughout the year…also for birthdays and holidays a portion of their “gift” money is invested.
I’m not a grandparent but I started saving $ in an UTMA for all of my nieces & nephews before I even became a parent. When they’re old enough, I take them to open a bank account then I split birthday $ between both.
Great savings ❤ I just started saving for my 4 grandchildren. I have a hysa for them. I'm also late with this because my oldest grandson graduates in 2025.
Great video! I think HYSA are the best way to go... my dad set up accounts for all of his grandkids that were Payable upon Death which eliminated a need for a will. He also stayed away from education plans like the 529 as its limited in how the money can be used. The only other caution is if the funds are in one account and becomes substantial , it is sometimes trickier to manage...especially if the beneficiary is under age which was the case of my daughter...so maybe divide the money into several accounts so you can keep the government out your business...:-)
I give my grandson 25 a week and if I have any left over from my cash envelopes I take some from there until I get 100. I stopped some saving challenge until I get a thousand then I will put 25 in a month
I do order pick up for target so that way target can’t tell me what to buy 😂. My grocery stores charge a fee for grocery pickup. You can always deposit the money back into your account on your way home from picking up your groceries

For your granddaughter, just start saving. Even if it's 10 or 20 dollars per paycheck, just start. And increase it as you can afford to.

You could look into a 529 College Savings plan for the baby. Even if she doesn't go to college she can convert the money to a Roth later.

Each of my greatgrands gets $50 per month in their Fidelity accounts.
girl i am loving that shirt, where did you get it from?
Hey Bestie! I got it from Victoria Secret Pink probably close to 7/8 years ago 😩
Good video Jazmine💜
Thank you!!
You need to recount the registration. You went from 80 to 100 and there's no 20 in there😂

Oh really. I’m not sure what that is…can you link a video where she’s using it. I love a good recommendation 🩷
