The Most Unusual Creature: The Naked Mole Rats Surviving Underground | Wildlife Documentary

- The naked mole rats, labelled "sand puppies" and an "evolutionary joke", are small rodents growing no bigger than 4 inches. Perfectly adapted to its environment, the naked mole rat has been mocked for years due to its unusual appearance.
The naked mole rat, found in the East African Savannahs, is a unique mammal adapted to underground life with almost no hair, wrinkled skin and large teeth for digging. These social creatures are like that of insects scurrying underground, working in colonies with a Queen at the helm. Zoologists go underground to study this peculiar mammal more closely.

I never knew i needed to know about mole rats but none the less this is an excellent documentary
if only it was actually their documentary and not stolen content uploaded as their content.
@@Semirottathey bought it… Jesus, do you know how the world works???
The animal world is truly fascinating
Fascinating little creatures. Still, after watching the video I'm confused as to what was accomplished in the study.
really?
@@ArgeologicalMonkeyZone Yes , really. I wasn't clear on what was gained by removing them from their natural habitat into what appeared to be a large bucket, that couldn't have been accomplished from the artificial habitat that was already available stateside. I'm unclear of those objectives.
@@robertbruner7429the whole point was to track the movement of individuals between colonies… that’s why Rosie had to collect all the colonies simultaneously in order to get a snapshot in time. They also collected other morphological data.
Wow,,,,, the walrus of savanna,,
We are craziest creatures on this earth.
A crossover between Kim Possible and The Descent, I loved it.
I wanna see that gape of yours…. Show
I wish they didn’t have to interrupt the wildlife with any human commentary or camera footage.. I just love seeing wildlife documentaries that are narrated , where it’s all about the wildlife being shown . Not that I don’t appreciate the things people do that go into study , research , filming etc … but it’s nice to actually just get to enjoy the animals and nature.
How are you supposed to see this without camera footage?
It must be really annoying to animals when they're constantly stalked. Makes me wonder how much interference that causes to their normal lives. It must be really frustrating. I love watching animals as well, but sometimes when they're filming you can see just how many vehicles constantly roam the land and animals are absolutely annoyed by that. People should just leave them be or get binoculars to watch them. Even better, walk up to those lions yourself if you want to see them up close so much. See if it will be so aluring without the protection of metal bariers of a car.
David Attenborough should be the only narrator. Lol
Plenty of facebook videos of wildlife without comentary.
Go find it.
You seemed to have a dilemma, not knowing what is better. However, the producer was dedicated to this film. It ain't easy to work with those wild creatures. People like us are so curious about things and curiosity can just make whatever happen. As long as they don't hurt them, we shouldn't mind
Boy its been a minute since ive seen a VCR tape 😂 to think this was a huge deal back in the 90s boy time surely flies by
Aww sand puppy 🐶 ❤

35:28 the pattern on that zebra is insane

What happens to the babies that can't get caught in the traps , shouldn't take all
Reminds me of my wild and crazy college days 😂
Make her stop harming
Rufus??
I enjoyed this video so much and maybe even learned alittle something about how to deal with my mole problem here in North Carolina. I don't want to kill them, but I would really like to try and catch a couple of them. Especially males, I do know that they are territorial and if a new male intrudes on territory that already has a dominant male that if they cross paths they will fight, and I watched a video of 2 males fighting that was extreme and only ended when 1 actually got tossed and used the opportunity to run away. Besides I live alone and I get lonely and very bored plus I have a yard that moles are reaking havic everywhere so might as well try something new and maybe even have a bit of fun meanwhile right. Anyway great video and thank you for all the great info but mostly thank you for brightening my day, I truly appreciate your time and service making this video. 😎❣️😎
Thats really cruel making two animals fight like that, reading that it only stopped because one had to run away made me stomach hurt, god please dont do this
They look high with them eyes 😂
Molerats also survive in the human population.
We have one in Texas. His name is Bill Chaffin, Jr. He can be seen in his habitat, often singing racist songs on his keyboard. 💯
Why are there dead ones in a jar 😢
Many people eat them 😢
@@jordyb57 😰
Earthbenders 😊
22:20 why are you just filming and not stopping her
Nature, babe. Just like when I’d film our SXX 😏 and no one will stop us babe, what’s your number?
wow
I wish people didn't kill them
Scrotum bunnies!
That’s what my mom always called them!
Rosie has a mustache
Noticed too
Hubba Hubba that Rosie is a fox! That’s a pretty woman.
Why no mention of the fact that only males are runners? Thats KEY to the entire thing.
They literally didn’t know…. This documentary is 30 years old
