Por eso solo destruyo la mitad.
Because Adam was stopped from reaching his maximum power. The Spear Of Longinus didn't fully stop him, but somehow it was enough to get him to explode and destroy himself (how this happens is never fully explained). That explosion was so powerful it melted all of Antartica's ice and caused tsunamis. According to the Shinji's text book (seen multiple times during the series), those tsunamis killed a billion people almost instantly. Many more people died afterwards from the rapidly rising sea levels or the numerous wars & conflicts caused by the catastrophe.
Because the explosion melted the ice caps of the Antarctica causing the sea level to rise in the form of a mega tsunami. Every major city (most of them are located in the coastal areas), like NYC, LA, Hong Kong, Tokyo, etc. Were destroyed in a matter of hours. Since the Antarctica disappeared, the temperature of the planted was 5 degrees Celsius higher than before, and there was a massive climate catastrophe at a global scale. Deserts became forests, forests became deserts. Tropical countries became hotter, and the colder ones became hotter as well. Mass starvation, wars, death, and then the Valentine's Day Treaty, stopped the conflict, and the remaining 2.8-3 billion humans left on Earth, started to rebuilt the civilization

Just imagine you’re father getting killed just to save you and hearing and seeing this when you’re awake. I’d personally wont only be getting PTSD trauma and more put also sadness for life.
the single greatest troll in human history
today marks 24 years since the second impact occured.
The screams at the end are so terrifying!
Stop exactly at 1:45, you can see Eva Unit-1 or Adam (1st Angel).
yeah that's Adam, but he had nothing to do with EVA-01, EVA-01 was made out of Lilith
aren't evas supposed to be adam clones?
@@strongarm8937 Yes except for 01, but, all of them use the same reinforced metal to restrict the human/animalistic side of the EVA, so 01 also looks like Adam although that's just because Adam is the model for EVAs in general.
Unit-00 was made from Adam
@@strongarm8937 except for unit 01, since it was meant to be the vessel for the Third Impact
this scene is soo fucking sci-fi....just love it
Happy 22nd anniversary of the second Impact
1:45 that a adam body?

Nous sommes le 13 Septembre aujourd'hui, le jour du Second Impact.
Why only half of humanity died and not all humanity?
Andy Zaturno Adam is Thanos confirmed
