I was actually diagnosed with type 1 a few months ago. This is the first channel I saw who is a diabetic and I can't begin to describe to you how much it's helped me. ❤️

Hey lex! I was just diagnosed as Type 1 in August and was super duper scared. But while I was in the hospital, I remembered that you are type 1 as well and I felt a little less alone because of that... it's cool to see someone I look up to as Type 1 just like me! Thank you for being open about all this and thank you for making me feel not so alone 💙
I just want to say that I don't body paint, nor do I have the talent to let alone draw, but I really enjoy watching these videos just to see how talented someone else could be.

My mom has been a diabetic for over 20 years and getting pregnant is actually the reason it became worse (sorry mom) but she can't properly treat it because medications are so expensive and we can't afford it. I love when you do videos like this because it's just nice to see it represented in some way
Madeyewlook, thank you so much for helping juvenile diabetes research. I was diagnosed at the age of three and it was incredibly difficult and still is, but I find ways to be happy and take care of my diabetes. I see you as a role model and I really appreciate the work you do both with makeup and for diabetes research.

Love how this is so cute but also brings awareness to diabetes. I don't have any form of diabetes but Type 2 diabetes is very common in my father's side of the family. It's really sad all the pricking yourself you have to do. My father always tells us to make sure to take care of our health because we really never want to go through that. But people with Type 1 diabetes have it worse because it's something they couldn't have prevented. Anyway, you're such an amazing person, Lex! Always stay strong

Hi Lex! I've been a type one diabetic since I was 6. I'll have had it for 13 years this April. I don't remember much from when I was first diagnosed but when I had to have my first insulin injection it apparently took both my parents and a nurse to hold me still for the doctor to inject me. Thankfully I'm not bothered by finger testing or injections anymore, but I agree about getting my blood drawn. That's not my favorite thing either! Keep fighting and making a difference :)

I'm not diabetic but I have kidney failure. Alot of people with kidney failure are diabetic.
I have dialysis 3 times a week numerous blood draws and monthly and weekly blood tests.
I get needled 306 times a year and probably the same amount again for various tests.
I know it's not fun but it is what keeps us alive.

Last year, I went to the doctor for an irritating skin rash that kept spreading to my arms and legs. My aunt and a few cousins have autoimmune disorders, so they drew blood to test for that. Aside from me losing vision, and almost passing out, the drawing of the blood went fairly well. We went back about a month later for my results. I am almost pre-diabetic. There is some kind of leveling, and the level for pre-diabetes is 5.7, and I was 5.6. We haven't been back yet, and honestly, I'm scared of what they might say. This doesn't compare with diabetes as I am not diagnosed yet, and I dont know if I will. I just thought I should share.
