I had stuff in storage for over a year and I went to unpack it and realized how much shit I had that I hadn't even missed, so I ended up getting rid of at least half of just junk and it feels so much better. I got rid of probably 80-90% of my shoes and clothes, too. And at this point I don't even feel the need to go shop for shit I don't really need, either. I feel content with what I've got and don't have anything I don't need or were feeling lukewarm about so now I only spend money on things I actually want or need.
My stuff has been in storage for a year now and I'm already looking forward to getting rid of stuff we haven't miss and don't need when we move into our new home. Crazy how much stuff we think we need and really don't!
I'm always more inclined to watch your videos because I feel like you don't take your subscribers/stranger friends ;) for granted. Plus I love how casual and real you are! Thanks for the life updates!
We moved from a large apartment to a much smaller one and we took advantage of all available space. We had bed risers and put boxes underneath the bed for extra storage. Stacked bookshelves to be able to have more upwards space instead of across bottom space. We took full advantage of the closets and put dressers in them so our clothes was all in one spot. We got a lot more organizers that would allow for everything to be vertical.
Wow, only minor casualties moving so many things! That's awesome! Very sorry for your loss, Glen. It's incredibly difficult being so far from loved ones during a sad time like this. Glad you are able to go home and be with family.
I love watching people move! it's so entertaining for some reason. I love seeing how a space pulls together and comes to life. Sorry for your loss Glen!!
I was in your situation (when I lived in Vancouver too, funny enough!) and I was a hoarder and had a lot of things, so I looked into minimalism and started using it. It'll make your place look great and it'll make your life easier. I swear. That's what I do online now for other people because it's so friggin awesome.
That's awesome :) Living and working from home in this industry is tough without space for clothes/shoes etc. haha it's a little too hard to do minimalism blogging >.
Oh of course, I obviously don't mean do it for everything you have, but looking into using it as a tool for certain areas of your life over time. One of my close friends (graduated from Blanche too actually) is a nail tech and make up artist but she uses minimalism to just clean up excess that she doesn't use.
I totally understand the overwhelming stuff that we all have. I am in the process of packing to move at the end of the month and I can't believe how much stuff I have.
Ohhh this brings back memories of packing and unpacking... My partner goes to uni and we move back home in April-September to live with our parents to save money (and work). It's always nice when you find things you forgot about when we unpack in September :) xx
I am soo happy for you two stranger friends to get your stuff finally ! Can't wait to see how you put together your new beauty room. Always love how you display your shoes and such. :)
My condolences to Glen and his family, it's never easy to be away when something like this happens. On a lighter note, is it weird that I really really wanted to be there to help you unpack? Must be one of my favourite things to do. Hope you made good progress already =) Hugs from Switzerland!
I just adore you two and your sweet relationship. I just moved from a 3 bedroom 1700 sq foot townhome to a 1 bedroom condo which is about 750 sq feet! The keys are good storage solutions and letting a few things go!! Sending love and positive thoughts to you and your families at this time! xx
It's amazing how much you can hoard without realising haha! I'm the exact same every time I do a deep clean/clear out of my room! But feels so good afterwards :) Glad Your getting some structure back into your life with organising your new home properly now with all the stuff finally back over from Australia! Again so sorry to hear about Glens farther :( But I know both you and Glen are strong enough to pull through it all :) Still thinking of you all through this tough time! Im so excited to eventually see the finished result of your gorgeous new home and Glens reaction from when he returned from Australia to a beautiful apartment :) So looking forward to your future vlogs Karissa! Since finishing all of my exams and not having much to do anymore, all I do is watch back your old videos haha! Sending lots of love to you all :)
i just downsized from a big apartment to small apartment, my only tip is get rid of it... it's sad but you only want to keep what's making you happpy and what you essentially need. you may be interested in researching and doing the KonMari decluttering method.
I came across one of your videos the other day and starting following you immediately!! I love how positive and uplifting you are🌞 It makes me very happy! Also I love your house and decorations!!!
Oh god lol this is making me feel anxious. My fiancé and I are moving to the Virgin Islands and we're going to have to ship everything. It's gonna be such a hassle
Eeeee so exciting!! Glad you finally got all your stuff back :D I'm also excited to see what everything is going to look like when it's all un packed and put in their places, and good look with the beauty room! looks crazy now but I'm sure you'll figure it out :) wooooo!!
ahhh moving and unpacking can be so overwhelming but so exciting!! I love organising, I would love to help set up your beauty room!!! Can't wait to see the final reveal :)
Ahhh moving. We had a similar experience when we moved back to Edmonton from BC. We staying with family for about the first 8 months and left our stuff in boxes the entire time. When we finally moved into our own place I couldn't believe how much sh!t we had, but also how much I missed everything. Big love from Alberta! xo Ali
my family and I downsized from a house to a boat lol so we have a storage unit and we make sure everything in them is accessible so we can still go get stuff if we need it :) i also got rid of a crap load of stuff...
yeah i moved in with my boyfriend had to donate and sell half my stuff to downsize.had to buy more storage.I still haven't located my telephone yet but it is in a box behind boxes in small room.so are the rest of my shoes.goodluck unpacking Karissa.
I had to downsize from a 4 bedroom house with a 2 car garage to a 4 bedroom apartment and we had to donate a lot of it. I ended up renting a garage unit at our apartment complex just for the things that we don't want to get rid of but have no place for. Love your videos btw!
Sorry for your loss Glen! The amount of boxes in the house looks overwhelming! I would never know where to put all this stuff haha but maybe it's just because I've never moved and live in my parents house for 19 years now 😂 Love you xx
So funny seeing all the things familiar to you guys, like the mugs haha!:) I'm the same but with cupcake mugs, who knows why I just love them!! Hope you've found more good surprises in there since the vlog! x
The problem with small spaces is that when you have all your stuff in the middle, it seems more than it really is, but once you organize and find a place for everything and throw some of it out, it'll all fit like a puzzle. I work from home too, and only have one room :D it was scary when I moved in, but eventually, every little thing found it's place.
Your comment is so bang on. We've been unpacking for about a week- and everything has found a little place. It' working :) Thanks so much for watching xx
I feel you! Especially as it comes up at 4 - 5am ish. When I was there on holiday it messed me up because on holiday you have no real perception of time. So it would be 8pm at night but look like 3pm and I would be like why am I hungry? Then look at my watch and realise the time.
I wouldn't say regularly... But thank you. Between family, moving, SocialEyes and UA-cam I've been crazy busy. Really hoping to slow down somehow 😣 I haven't even had a chance to look at filming for my main channel. End of June/ July will most likely be my first video back on there 💗 thanks for the patience and support✨
I've been thinking about how that laundry baskets been getting on ever since you mentioned they'd packed it! Lmao so funny, glad to see you guys have got (most) of your stuff safely! And make sure to take some time to chill once you're settled in☺️
Condolences to Glenn and his family, so sorry for you loss.
Can't wait to see how the apartment looks once it's all done
So sorry Glen for your loss...peace be with you both... have fun unpacking!

yayy minimalism is the way to go :)
Ahh that's amazing, I'm aspiring to that. Long way to go though
My stuff has been in storage for a year now and I'm already looking forward to getting rid of stuff we haven't miss and don't need when we move into our new home. Crazy how much stuff we think we need and really don't!

omg Lola playing with her ball
Oh no. My condolences to Glenn :(
You guys are the CUTEST little family. The apartment is looking gorgeous--and great light in the beauty room around sunset!
I was in your situation (when I lived in Vancouver too, funny enough!) and I was a hoarder and had a lot of things, so I looked into minimalism and started using it. My condolences to Glen and his family, it's never easy to be away when something like this happens.

I just adore you two and your sweet relationship. I just moved from a 3 bedroom 1700 sq foot townhome to a 1 bedroom condo which is about 750 sq feet! The keys are good storage solutions and letting a few things go!! Sending love and positive thoughts to you and your families at this time! xx

That headboard looks amazing! Can't wait to see what it looks like! Condolences to Glen and his family :(
Reminds me of snowy mountains :D My condolences too. Glen is strong :)

I just love your style and your sense of taste for decor! I feel like we're pretty much alike when it comes to aesthetics! Hugs! 🐥💕🎈
Woo! How exciting! So sorry for glen sending good vibes
I'm so excited that you finally have your stuff back yaaay!! And I was honestly so keen to see what was in the laundry basket😂 mistery solved.
You were so giddy in this video I loved it. Made me so happy haha energy is infectious!
Yay for finding the Laundry basket :D
Sorry to hear the news about Glen's Grandpa! x
I had to downsize from a 4 bedroom house with a 2 car garage to a 4 bedroom apartment and we had to donate a lot of it. I ended up renting a garage unit at our apartment complex just for the things that we don't want to get rid of but have no place for. Love your videos btw!

Unpacking is always way worse than packing!!! Also, so sorry for the loss of your grandfather Glenn. 😢 it always hurt losing someone we love
Love how you brought a pink hockey stick to Australia and then back again 🇨🇦🏒
Hahaha I played a few times in Aus! We had a local rink/ team :) xx
Yay! Your apartment is getting there 😊
The problem with small spaces is that when you have all your stuff in the middle, it seems more than it really is, but once you organize and find a place for everything and throw some of it out, it'll all fit like a puzzle. How is it still day light at 9pm??
Aren't most places like that in spring/summer? In Australia it is too
Sun doesn't set until around 11pm there in the mountains. :)
+Ambziie if the sun didn't set til 11pm I'd never be productive. That would mess me up! Lol
I feel you!
Especially as it comes up at 4 - 5am ish.
When I was there on holiday it messed me up because on holiday you have no real perception of time.
So it would be 8pm at night but look like 3pm and I would be like why am I hungry?
Then look at my watch and realise the time.
I live in Finland and in Lapland the sun doesn't set at all for like 70 days in the summer, and I always have trouble falling asleep. :D
Love and light Glen!
I don't know how you manage all of this AND still upload videos regularly?! Super woman
I'm so obsessed with the vlogs! And Lola!
Glen, hugs from Virginia. Sorry to hear about your grandfather
I LOVE LOLA
I like how you say good morning stranger friends
Settlers of Catan and Tsuro are awesome board games to play! I bought the games after watching the youtube show Table Top.
Ah i love love love your guys' place!
I owned a house in North Van with my ex, sold it and downsides to an apartment downtown Vancouver. It sucks! Your lucky you have a spare room!!!
Here in Melbourne we just had our shortest day and watching this when the suns still up after 8pm is killing me! Lol
Aww so sorry for your loss Glen! :(
That headboard is gorgeous, so happy there's a link :)
sorry for your loss Glen
That head board is amazing!! I love it. We're about to move to a different state and I'm so excited to decorate a new place!
Lol 🙈🙈 the laundry baskets!!!!!
So glad for your guys! This would've driven me mad!!
I've been thinking about how that laundry baskets been getting on ever since you mentioned they'd packed it! Lmao so funny, glad to see you guys have got (most) of your stuff safely! And make sure to take some time to chill once you're settled in☺️
I have so much crap that I need to declutter before I move. I'm trying to do a little bit at a time. Sorry for Glen's loss 😞
Sending love your way Glen.
Moving is so much work! Have you ever read the Kon Mari book? I recommend that to everyone, especially before moving xx
I love Lolas personality💓💓
You guys don't even see the half of it- she is such a beautiful soul. ☺️💗✌🏼️
packing and un-packing to move is STRESSFUL!!
That headboard looks beautiful!
Much love to you guys ❤️
Idk why but this video made me so excited!!!
