SONPHOOL/ SHARADA JALLI MAKING VIDEO

Here is the video presented by me and my team Harshitha Aishwarya and Akshatha
about the process of Sonphool/ Sharada jalli.
I am thankful to my guru Smitha Kamath / Usha Kamath for teaching me this beautiful art of Jasmin arrangement 🙏. Always grateful in my life and lucky enough to be
a student of her.
Sonphool is traditional konkani hairdo which is replicated as goddess sharade look♥️ Most of the time this is done during the occasion of Phoolmuddi, babyshower, on childrens 5th year birthdays or on little boys on their chavalopadesha.✨
This hairdo makes them look divine just as goddess sharada♥️🙏🏻
Things we need for sonphool are as follows:
Jasmin flower 3 to 4 Atti (Udupi or Bhatkal you can use)
Jasmin flower undo 3 to 4 (Mangalore jasmin tied by local vendors)
Scissors
Thick white thread
Thin white thread
Black cord
5 to 7 Hair brooch
3 layer thick maang tikka
Black thin material (only if needed)
Gonde for long hair plant (round hanging)
Tail comb
Hair spray
Any long gold accessories for front side.
Rose flower if needed.

I'm from Tamil Nadu.. The decoration is lovely and awesome.. may I know what kind of decoration is this? Is there any special reason for braiding like this? And for kind of ocassions this type of decoration is preferred?

Hi! This is a traditional Konkani hairstyle called “son phool”. We wear this hairstyle for girls before puberty, during wedding (for the “phool muddi” ceremony), during seemant (also known as gurbini kapad in Konkani) and also satta havan ceremony. :) it is a part of our Konkani identity and traditions 💕
