Awesome video, and very good looking car! The engine you were talking about is the CA18DET, which is found in the early Silvia’s and 180SX. It is also found In the 200sx (only S13) which is the european version. I have a 1989 S13 200sx which I am converting to type x, when I source all the parts. Greetings from Denmark! - Jesper
This is such a true video. I currently own a 91' S13 and I will admit that it is really clean for the whole drifting seen. You see 240's with torn apart, missing bumpers, don't run, and need a whole engine swap sometimes. Along with cracked dashes. I have a single crack in my dash and yes it sucks. But you always have to remember how many people beat on this car. I'm lucky I found mine fully running with good interior for just 3500. You have to get clean ones now for 6000+. Anyways, just my two sense, but your car is very clean and beyond amazing.
Isaac .40sx 3500 damn thats a steal, in my area they’re going for 4-7k beat to death man, the clean ones only last a week at most 😭😭 Trying to buy one in March or April
Awesome video. So glad I still have mine...91 with ka24de less than 140k miles on it...they just dont make cars like these anymore. I too live the pop up headlights...so 90's. I'm only the second owner and was very well taken care of, bone stock. I love it.
My first car was a Red 1990 240 sx se Coupe. it drove great i worked on it my self and i loved pulling up the handbrake and doing 90 deg turns. I was 21. Its really a great car. Im going to get a fastback! thanks!!
Beautiful car. Congrats! I owned a 1990 240 for about 13 years as my daily driver. Everything you said is true. It is under powered for sure by today's standards but it still feels like a classic roadster when the engine gets humming on the freeway but best of all the rear wheel drive is so pleasing to drive around the city streets. Now, I own a 2018 Subaru WRX and I definitely feel further away from the driving experience than with the 240.
I bought a new 1991 Nissan 240SX SE back in 1991. It was fun to drive but had no power or torque. No head room (I'm 6'2) but I paid $22k and it was nice sports car. Pop up head lights were really cool.
If you want to insure the vehicle to a specific value then you need a different type of insurance policy. Hagerty for example can insure your vehicle for a specific value.
Man, do I as well. 91, hatchback, 5-speed, cherry red pearl. every option save the 4 wheel steering. Paid something like $24k and paid 9.9% interest on the note. Best combination of luxury, sport, style, and zip.
Im getting a 240 as my first car soon, and this review helped a lot in telling me more about the car. I found this video very interesting and I subscribed because of it! Great video! If only it had cupholders..
Mint!!!🙂👍 👊 She looks so goooood. I like how you are keeping it some what stock. A Nice and subtle JDM racer.👍🙂🙂😍👊 Been missing your videos. Happy New Year to you!!🙂
I want a 240 that I can restore and learn about for my first car I'm looking at one right now wrecked cosmetically on the outside(I dont really care about that ill just do a temp job or leave it till I have it professionally done) but it runs but it has a swapped engine with low compression idk why they wouldn't check that lol but ya know small things also yeah the dash is cracked but ngl if I get it ill love
Believe it or not my first car was a 240sx that my father got for me. Pristine condition. I was a dumb teenager 15 years ago so when the engine blew I sold it for $800.
My first car was an Rx7, drove it daily a good 5 years. I decided I wanted a 240sx and found one only two weeks after wanting one So my first car I purchased was a 240sx. Still love both my cars.
How did you tuck away the wires in the wheel well? I'm running 225/35R18 up front and just put coilovers on and I'm rubbing a hole in the plastic don't want it to get to my wires. Thanks
I tucked them under the fender liner and used zipties to tuck them away. WHen I had my fenders rolled, they cut some of my fender liner. I just got some new clips and zipties and wire tubing and tidied everything up. Had jack car up on stands and take my time.
Nice man! Is it so cheap in america, i have seen arround 5k with 10k KM... In europe where i live a stock is starts arround 10-15k, and u have to spend 10k more to get a "car" :D
You mentioned you have a hks catback. Does increasing the pipe size from 1.8 to 3inch change the air / ratio on ka24e? I need advice please because I’m thinking this might be the reason my single cam won’t pass emissions
I'm not sure but I'd rather just buy the real thing and swap them in. Custom work takes more time and can cost a lot more money! Unless you really know what you're doing, I'd just but the JDM replacement.
Echizen32k Media oh shoot I said my question wrong, I didn’t mean “convert” I meant like, can any 240sx switch into those taillights that you have because they’re beautiful, even those 240s that have those taillights that look like - - ?
Drift tax isn't real. It's something the car community made up. It's more like supply and demand. 240sx are rare. The demand out numbers the supply. I was lucky and got mine for 1k it runs and just needed some love . . . Just search supply and demand chart
alex miranda haha completely forgot about this comment. I know now but thanks. I had a neighbor that was selling his and unfortunately he sold it to someone else
1990 240 SX would have been a good investment 25 years ago . Because you could have driven the same car that long and not seem out dated. Kinda like a vw bug.
Its a reliable car people say its not cause they dont have tools and onowledge to google a problem if your willing to give up time to maintain it and keep it up its a good car it isnt a car you can drive day in day out and never maintenence it its a old car thats been beatup if you arent a mechanic before when you get one you will be i daily my 240 which is also my drift car and i love it wouldnt want it any other way
That s13 is sooo clean. I have a question but it isn’t 240sx related. I have been looking for a car and have narrowed it down to a rsx type s and a tsx (6 dps). I test drove a rsx type s and really enjoyed it the seller wasn’t willing to negotiate and needed the car for work until the end of the month. Is the tsx similar? I have read one you mod the tsx it handles better than the rsx.
The TSX is heavier and feels more like an enty level luxury car. I think the RSX-S handles better and is cheaper to modify because of the aftermarket support. Both are good cars, but it depends on your end goal. If you want a car to track and daily then get the RSX-S. If you want comfort and luxury, get the TSX. Personally, I would get the RSX-S over the TSX if I had to pick one, but that's just me having owned both before.
I bought a high mileaged one for $3600. I've owned quite a few. But this one i will keep for all the reasons you stated. I have literally replaced everything stock and OEM. Always a blast to drive. IG: misterdude206
Maximo Guerrero Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) refers to parts that are original to the manufacturer so it means that the parts are original or stock
No discussion with a 240SX owner is complete without asking: "Do you want to sell it?"

Wow you should ask her to sell it to you!
i want to get a 240sx for my first car, i hope i can get a good deal
Same. I just hate and despise the stealers and people who wreck other peoples cars, it happens alot in my area. Don't know how to deal with it.

Picking one up for $1300 Sunday, it needs a repaint and some other TLC. But runs and drives great!
Where?
Maximo Guerrero Atlanta GA
I need to get one there 😂, have an idea if there is other?
Maximo Guerrero they sell for $1500-4K here. U can easily find one for 2.5k
The problem is in from México, jaja I can go for it. But I really need a guide. But thanks, I Will try to find one in that state.
took me 1.5 years to find a clean one, checking craigslist hourly basically
nice! Dedication when looking for a clean S13!
Change the fuel filter regularly. I learned the hard way the consequences of not doing that.
Thanks for the update! Yes, I have a new KNN fuel filter installed :)

Yes that might be the reason, there is no way to know the afr unless you tap a bung into your exhaust and run a wideband. Do you have an engine light?
Not too sure, Have to make sure self dign sensors are all good first
What part of california are you from?
yeah lol in 20 years there will be no more internal combustion engines
