Josh is such a lovely, genuine person. I’ve been a fan of his comedy for a good while & always love how he articulates parts of being human in such a clarified way, with humility & empathy. Thank you for this. 💚
I love him so much (parasocially and platonically, of course). He’s such a treasure and his comedy is smart, relatable, and hilarious. Great interview! You’ve gained a new follower today.
@@LeeEisPrettyStrange I love finding cool artists *through* other artists. It used to be just finding new folk singers when they'd open for other folk singers, but now it's branching out! 😂
I'm a woman and I resonate with Josh's experience with crying and anger. I feel angry almost constantly and I do vent (with self control and respect) a lot, but crying never makes me feel better, and I rarely cry. When I do it's usually after weeks of emotional turmoil and it's just from utter exhaustion. I try not to cry even when I feel compelled to because I usually get a migraine afterward, so there's nothing desirable about it at all. But anger is always there. It's like a fire that's in my chest and takes the smallest match to ignite, and I have to work really hard to stay zen and redirect my mind when I spiral (I have diagnosed anxiety and depression and PTSD). I'm a very warm, open, loving and protective person, but I also feel deeply the injustice in the world, as well as cruelty and terror I've experienced in my own life, so that rage is always there. It takes so much energy, and even more to keep it at bay.
It's like you don't even know that's horrible. Like WOW tho. Two comedians on that screen, one comedian runs this page, and you needed to go out of your way to tell the world she doesn't matter and you only care for him. On her page. In her comments section. Go to therapy.
The going to the doc when you’re fine is something I really agree with especially for therapy… ESPECIALLY for romantic relationships-i am of the mindset that partners should go to therapy when things are good (or just don’t get into relationships 🤷🏼)
I’m just trying to figure out why no interviewer has gotten nosy about this girlfriend that gets casually thrown out there… I’m not a stalker, I promise, just pathologically nosy and I want to know all the details, especially if they haven’t been shared. 😂
Also I've noticed that, as our species becomes more androgynous (men and women are biologically evolving towards being more similar), a lot of women seem to be much less what history would call "emotional", and much more "masculine" (which is just a social concept of gender norms). The women I come across, especially if they're under 50, are much more gruff, practical , businesslike and unsentimental than older ladies. And younger men are often softer, more easygoing and passive than older generations. It makes sense that we're questioning gender concepts more now than ever. I honestly think that the next step will be doing away with the fixation on gender as a whole. I think people are going to be identified pretty much just as individuals with a certain physical biological sex, without the added layer of what gender you identify with.
I don't think it's necessarily evolution, most of our behavior is social. And the only women back in the day that were seen as emotional wete the rich women. The working woman didn't have time to faint or cry, or be worried about blood. And the rich men used to write all the poetry etc because of other stupid traditions. So, our socidty has evolved to just let people be people more. And I'm 100% here for it.
@@AmberAutryComedy I do think plants know things somehow. 🥰 I didn’t think it was neglected or anything. I just always cue in on plants bc I have so many of them here!
PTL Josh…Condolence’s about your Dad, that part not funny; how you told it was hilarious. Out of respect and natural response, didn’t laugh or cry; very uncomfortable 🛒😇!
Omg how was he so spot on about the “I’m rarely comfortable so let’s make others more comfy” part

Josh is my spirit animal
I watched the special! Josh is so funny and relatable; I am often awkward and uncomfortable in social situations, too.
It was a great special right?
At 18 min I can hear Josh's loud disturbed eye blinks lol

I'm also pathologically nosy, I like to think that's why I was born with big nose genes. Lol it's a warning beacon.
