Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules:
1. Any Pokemon that faints must be permaboxed
2. No Encounters due to theme - progress with the game to get the next Pokémon
3. No items during battles (held items are fine)
4. No over-leveling (level cap is the next Gym Leader or the last Elite Four member once all Gyms are beaten)

Love Gold's Team, really like the teams in the Adventures Manga. Always very creative! Nicely done. Onix sturdy didn't kick in because that's only from Gen 5 onwards 😝

Onix has sturdy, but sturdy only works on OHKO moves (sheer cold/ horn drill) in gen 4

In Gen 3&4 it blocks “ONE-HIT KO” moves…
Such as Sheer Cold, Guillotine, Fissure… etc.
I've done this playthrough twice (Though casually), and I always enjoyed it so much. Both times I got a female Pinsir on the Bug Catching Contest for the Sun Stone, and I really enjoyed using some more obscure mons. Leech Seed and Endeavor on Sunflora really helped shred walls, Perish Song on Politoed to finish off battles and Sudowoodo being my main physical tank and being the only one with good priority with Sucker Punch were some of my highlights

Sturdy only stops moves from 1 hit killing you in Gen 5 and onwards. In Gen 4 it just prevents instakill moves like guillotine and sheer cold.

Another great video! I don’t understand why BDSP didn’t have the platinum story just how HGSS has the Crystal story.
It’s more of a side quest than a story. You can play the whole game without interacting with suicune at all

I did this a yearish ago but with just a normal playthrough with gold's team from the manga, lots of fun
out of all the nuzlockers out there, your voice is the most soothing, smooth thing that my ears have ever heard. Plus the editing is spot-on.

i did this one time in pokemon gold, just not as a nuzlocke, i couldn't trade so no politoed (so i was stuck with a poliwhril lol) and i had a sunflora that crushed pryce.
also, popo is one of the ice climbers, and i think it was the nickname of ruby's castform

i did a playthrough of pokemon black using black's team and found out the hard way that you cant get braviary and reshiram in the same game. so I had to hack in the braviary which was sad cuz I didn't want to use any cheats

I just reset my soulsilver cartridge the other day. 14 or so hours in with 4 badges, 7-8 of those hours have been devoted to grinding. Mostly just on grinding Slugma and Eeevee since they’re both weak, but still

Sturdy is bugged until gen 5 or gen 6. In gen 4, it only protects against moves that are coded as OHKO moves.
It’s not bugged. That’s how the ability worked before the gen 5 buff

Hi Rameez ! ^___^ it’s a odd story but back in the early days of the internet, a guy created this challenge and named it after his Nuzleaf nicknamed Locke, so he put the two together = Nuzlocke

@@moorepunished well whosoever team he’d use, he’d have to do the Nuzlocke on Platinum since several Pokémon on each of their teams are only available in that game before the Elite 4.
