Goosebumps. Mosolov indeed was one of USSR's greatest musical minds. I wish his name and works were more widely known in the West, as well as those of Roslavets, Popov, Shebalin, etc. Buonanotte
The section starting at 11:05 reminds me of a steam locomotive, specially the part at 11:26! It's awesome! Definitely a hidden gem of the string quartet repertoire!
That's some confidence right there. A very admirable quality for someone to have. Good for you, for having a "big fat dongle", but I think you can use said confidence to do greater things than exhibitionism on a music related forum.

@@M.FatihTuran It's a damn shame his channel was shut down. He had an ungodly amount of hidden gems on there. I didn't even have a youtube account back then.
Definitely one of my favourite works for String Quartet. It's gripping from the moment the first movement begins. For me, it creates a slightly macabre feeling, not entirely dark - but you definitely want to hear more!
@@valentingautier9752 Obukhov is another Russian avantgarde composer. He is known by hyper mystic piano melodies. And he invented three musical instruments.
The 3rd movement must be up there as a most terrifying scherzo. I picture Masonic and pagan rituals and foxtrotting with corpses. Mosolov was truly a great and audacious composer

This is my favorite string quartet of all time.
Ezra, you might like Pavel Haas' second string quartet!
Thanks!
And Zoltán Székely's String Quartet, and György Ligeti's String Quartet no.1 and maybe András Derecskei's 1st one.
Such a dreamy fabulous atmosphere right from the start,
Absolutely wonderful! I am so happy to listen to such a great performance
Etkileyici... Fazla etkileyici.
10:04 II. Adagio
15:04 III. Scherzo
17:53 IV. Finale
Top class work!

7:16 sounds like the same effect shostakovich uses in his sq13?

Excelente obra! Quiénes son los intérpretes, hacen un trabajo musical de alta calidad.
Novosibirsk String Quartet
Hey Mehmet, thanks for putting this gem on! Do you by any chance know where I can get the full score as PDF?
He was castrated by Stalin. He should have gone to France like Obukhov. I love this way of writing.
Ubokov ?

Apocalyptia before they were cool (;
Мосолов пытался создавать пролетарскую музыку , а создавал антипролетарскую. Интересный квартет.
