- It was during a workshop while the Fox executives were green lighting the film that Hugh Jackman ended up having surgery on his nose to remove some skin cancer. He ended up getting 80 stitches, and he was even told not to sing for some time. Hugh followed through with the doctor’s orders until it came time to perform the last song, From Now On. Hugh decided to sing it, and halfway through, he noticed that his nose was bleeding.

*RESPECT, this man sacrificed his nose for a movie*
YEAHHHHHH
Why…why am I thinking of Voldemort
@@xhz1699 you took the words right out of my mouth
The best theatrical movie in my opinion
A true actor
What they forgot to add is that Jeremy Jordan singlehandedly saved the show by singing Jackman's parts and Effron's(what he believed would be his) as well and then they didnt even cast him.
Don’t get me wrong, Zac Effron did great, but I am still bummed that we didn’t get Jeremy Jordan instead! I loved the movie, and having Jeremy would’ve been the icing on the cake for me.
IKKKKK HE WAS ROBBED OF THE ROLE 😭😭😭😭
EXACTLY
I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS COMMENT OMG!!! And the Hugh took away his big moment at the end in From now on 😭
I’m sad that he didn’t get the role, but from my understanding Zac Efron already had the part or was already in talks for the part. Just no one had told Jeremy yet. I still would have preferred Jeremy in the role.
Jermany Jordan was actually the one singing for him in that meeting. And when it came to that song at the beginning of the song, hugh chimed in and took over
Nice! I really like that guy, I know him from newsies!
Yeah, it's almost like Hugh shutting his mouth would've benefitted both of them. Jeremy as Phillip would've been amazing, he may have gotten the role if Hugh stayed quiet honestly.
@@ElectricLegend14 Yeah, I’m still bummed about that. Zac Effron did great, but I would’ve loved the movie that much more with Jeremy Jordan.
@bree_nicole Yeah, I feel the same.
One of my favorite movies.
Did you know in The Greatest Showman....that Jeremy Jordan was offered the role of Phillip Carlyle and was asked to pay his own way to NY to help get the movie greenlit. Then because Hugh had surgery he sang the entire show sick, and got cut off mid way through the opening of From Now On by Hugh to steal the spotlight from him. Then the movie was greenlit and before Jeremy even left the meeting he heard that Hugh just spoke to Zac Efron and offered him the part.
Shady AF how he got played. Saved the day and got screwed over for it! Shame on them all!

@kinman3051
Jeremy Jordan himself
@@kinman3051look up the day i saved the greatest showman on youtube there’s a whole video
That's cause when you sing, you vibrate across you're entire head. Same thing happened to me after a tooth extraction. A week later I sang a few lines of opera and blood gushed out of my mouth and felt tremendous pain across my entire gums. Singing also gives you a natural high. It really produces a feeling of euphoria
That is why I do it when I'm feeling really depressed. It really does help me fight my depression.
Ngl, From Now On is a VERY hype song so I can completely understand why he couldn’t resist singing!! Respect to both him and Jeremy Jordan for covering for him as long as he did
They would’ve been fine if Hugh didn’t sing that day. Jeremy Jordan saved the entire movie
Yep you just left out the part about Jeremy Jordan single-handedly saving the movie by performing as two different roles and not even getting casted in the movie.
That tells you how much he loved the song
It wasn’t 80…. That’s his accent. It was 18 stitches
I just watched that clip!!! It was such a good and powerful moment, respect for Hugh doing that with 80 stitches in his nose
Oh god, that's not good
You can watch this practice and you never see him bleed!!! Maybe internally but you can’t tell in the video.
You see him wiping/touching his nose checking for blood. You can’t really see it but I think it’s safe to say it was bleeding. They also confirmed afterwards he tore his stitches.
Don't worry he's literally wolverine
He has regenerative healing
Don't come at me, I'm joking xD
Me this morning : singing perfectly fine
Me now : constantly coughing and can’t say a single word
He couldn’t help it!!! he felt it!
Let's be honest Jeremy Jordan is a better singer than any actor in the film the greatest showman. He would have stole the show with his talent and upstaged Hugh. So no wonder they didn't cast Jeremy as the other actors probably felt threatened and jealous of him. But that's show biz I guess..incredibly harsh on Jeremy, I do feel for the poor guy after all his efforts, only to be pushed a side for a more famous actor (Zac) over talent.
Jeremy Jordan got screwed over
Jeremy Jordan
Poor Hugh
Noooo
People talking about jeremy jordan yet I've never heard of him
He was the opening lead of newsies, Bonnie and Clyde, and now the great Gatsby on Broadway
Me watching this: wait Hugh jackman had skin cancer
I thought it was when the doctors removed his nose from some Hollywood producer's ass
How did you know
80 stitches?
Yup
Beautiful huge
UNIT
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
80 stitches? On a nose??
18. Not eighty. It was his Australian accent. When they say “Eighteen” sounds like 80
Everyone knows this.
Not me
I didn’t
No one knows it
Bruh is your name everyone?
Not everyone
Such a brave and wonderful human being. Much respect to him.x❤
I like to think it was Hugh deciding to sing that actually got the movie green lit
It wasn’t. Jeremy Jordan sang Hugh’s part the entire show, as well as what thought would be his part (it ended up being Zac Efron). Jeremy Jordan saved that show. He had to pay for his own plane ticket, sang two parts, and didn’t even get credited for it.
