The Bishop is right. Every church has liturgy even if they do not want to admit it. The Church of God in Christ has liturgy and the vestments are very similar to low Anglican churches, even though COGIC is Holiness Pentecostal.

Hey RR guys - I’d love to see Matthew W. Bates on the show. His book “Salvation By Allegiance Alone” is fantastic. It was endorsed by Scot McKnight (an Anglican I believe and a previous guest on RR)!
The Anglican/Episcopal Church has Calvinistic doctrines with Catholic liturgy. So either the worst or best of Christian faith life whichever way you want to see it.
The great thing about the Anglican church is that it is a broad church. From low Anglicans to high Anglicans, and everything in between, there is something for everyone.
In Canada the Anglican Netwosk in Canada is joined now to the ACNA. This is cue to the Anglicanchurch of CAnadahas left God's word behind them getting more & moreleft-minded. I think this Bishop is so correct in his speaking.
The Bishop had a lot of great things to say but missed on a few historical points. One of the big ones, and this is a common misconception, is “Via Median” the middle way is not the historically that middle way between Protestantism and Roman Catholicism, but actually referred to the middle way between Lutherism and Calvinism.
I’m reading the book of common prayer 1662 now. The 39 articles of faith and the homily on Justification are interesting. Learning a lot and comparing to what the Bible says. When you look at the landscape today in America…..it looks like the the time of the judges. Everyone doing what is right in their own eyes. Anyone can start a new church in America and teach whatever they want. Who are the orthodox gatekeepers???? So here we are with everyone doing their own thing. Division after division even among main denominations. Review Ready to Harvest on you tube. I want to cry. Come Lord Jesus..
How true. It’s like catechism every Sunday with the liturgy. For those of us that do the daily office, it’s catechism 3 to 4 times a day that shapes our hearts and minds.

The Monarch is only the head of the Church of England, not of other churches in the Anglican Communion, so not something Gafcon really has anything to do with. Yes what you say is a problem for them but I think the CofE has other more serious theological issues. And based on what other church leaders such as the Pope has said recently I don’t think the CofE is the only church with issues with their titular head.
This was very confusing to me. The Anglican church is a result of King Henry III leaving the Catholic Church bc he wanted to divorce his wives, who he murdered instead. Henry was a strong Catholic but wanted nothing to do with the papacy. Why isn't any of that mentioned here?
Because almost none of what you say is true. Henry wanted wanted an annulment from his first wife because he became convinced it was sinful for him to have married her in the first place, a marriage against church law at the time but a special dispensation for the marriage had been granted by the Pope under pressure from her family. Despite the pushing of some of his bishops Henry’s church remained very much like the Roman church just without the Pope, and then went back to Roman Catholic under his daughter Mary. It was only under his younger children Edward and Elizabeth that the Protestant Anglican Church was formed.
