- "This video that I put together, is to celebrate the life and legacy of an extremely talented man with his extremely gifted trumpet playing... Maynard Ferguson was a great inspiration to me on my trumpet playing, beginning in 1968 and continuing on today... Please enjoy this presentation..."
Well done!! Thanks for posting. To me he will always be the Greatest!! Watching this I couldn't get out of my mind the brevity of time. R.I.P. Maynard. Thanks for the music and the excitement you gave to millions!!
Thank You and You are so welcome!!!
I saw Maynard at the Bickershaw Music Festival in 1971 (?). The band was terrific
Life-time experience!!! Wonderful!!!
Basstromboneist approved this piece. And even better.. this LP brought "MacArthur Park" to the Trumpet community🙏
I couldn't agree more!!! The bones were so full and rich in sonority!!!
Maynard Ferguson...Number 1 👍👍👍
AMEN!!!
And a really nice guy too! Got him to sign my trumpet case in the 90s.
Keepsake!!!
Great montage! Fantastic music! Have followed him since the early 70’s. Thank You!
Thank You and You are so welcome!!!
This was fantastic!!!❤❤❤ Bravo, Well done Sir🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Great tune choice - btw❤
Aww... Thank You so much!!!
Went to homecoming at Ohio state in 1960 and evening dance/entertainment was Kenton and four freshmen. What a night! Girl I took coulda wanted to do other things but I was mesmerized by the musicians. At the time I was a member of the OSU marching band playing baritone horn but trombone player in groups. Not sure Maynard in the Kenton band then but probably. At some point bought album of Maynard’s band called”Boy with lots of brass”. In early 2000’s Maynard brought band to va beach where I lived and held meet/greet at moe’s music and a much older Maynard signed the album for me and later his band had performance at Princess Anne high school. Never forget it but he died few years later. Best screech trumpet ever.
Cherished memories of Maynard, Stanley!!!
Got to see him three times. At my third concert during Hey Jude Maynard and the band went into the aisles and shock hands and slapped hands (a five) with the audience! I played trumpet in high school and soprano bugle in drum and bugle corps, but will never forget the five I got from Maynard!!🎉❤😊
Such cherished memories!!!
One of my all time favorites as well as Chick Corea ! And I’m a drummer
Thank You, Shannon!!!
캐나다가 낳은 트럼펫 원조 괴물 Maynard Ferguson 은 세상을 떠나 가고 없지만 그가 남긴 업적은 영원하리
So true!!! Thank You!!!
Beautiful! Thank you for taking the time to put this together.
Thank You, John, and You are so welcome!!!
My favourite Maynard album. British band. A real mash of idioms on this album and that dubba C he nails on the end of Eli's coming is still the fattest you'll hear.
I agree !!! I couldn't have said it any better!!!
Don’t forget his C at the end of Tony & Cleo.
@@billbryant1288 Yep!!!
Мейнард -- 👍👍👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank You!!!
Forgot to mention while still in high school at Columbus north high in Ohio many of us band guys in 1959 would rush back to band room to listen to music on New hifi system arguing whether to listen to kenton(Maynard, rosolino ) by us jazz guys vs classic trumpet players listening to victor Mendez. All good. Times lots different now with high school kids.
Meant Rafael mendez
Excellent Scott ‘
