I've said it before and I'll say it again: We will find a Neanderthal, or a Denisovan one day, and I just want to be alive when that day comes. Can you imagine how incredible that would be? There must be some out there somewhere. One can dream!
@PowerStikk StikkPower it may upset the world view of millions of individuals who cling to a religious perspective and the authorities would prefer to maintain the status quo and avoid a thinking, questioning public.
They're in all of use, well not all but most. Imagine having sex with a human from a different species 😅 it happend! Otherwise we wouldn't have their DNA in us.
Nah what I want to see is a frozen alien or a flying saucer Like an alien that came to Earth to study Earth life and got surprised by an avalanche or something and became frozen in time
I like the idea of cloning some of these animals. Imagine, literally bringing a species back that hasnt walked the earth in 40,000 plus years or so. Incredible. It makes me wonder someday, when homo sapiens are gone if those who come after us have the ability if they would clone one of us.
When? I think it's more of a matter of "if". Humans are the only species that can actively work to prevent its own extinction. There's a much higher chance that Humans will never go extinct, and that we will either evolve so much we will become something different, or colonize space, than of humanity going extinct. What I think will happen is humans will become cyborgs, and then completely merge with machines and artificial life and become A.I. or something
@@XenoRaptor-98765 No, not that, but given that since they are man-made they would likely have a very short lifespan of only days or a week. Let alone they'll have deformities.

@@MybeautifulandamazingPrincess ah yes, this obviously must be rude, but whenever religious people tell me that I’ll burn in hell forever if I don’t believe in their religion that’s merely considered “promoting God’s word”…
Oh ignorance, still some people promote the assertion that our amazing world is six thousand years old. I want to see that foal run like the wind. it is sad the ice is melting though.
All these references to the possibility of cloning these extinct animals. The lack of ethics in doing that is astounding and I sincerely hope we do NOT take that liberty even if we can. But I suppose our scientific community, or even just some scientists individually, don't bother to think it through. Too invested in doing anything and everything possible for the sake of learning.
When talking about these animals "going extinct" - isn't it just as likely that most simply morphed into different forms in response to the environment? These changes could come rather quickly. An example there is a "Drive Thru Safari" with numerous white buffalo- a rarity in nature. In all aspects, the buffalo are identical to their darker cousins. The start of this was in the 1960s when the founder of the Safari bred a buffalo with a Charolais and by selective breeding within 30 years had white buffalo. The buffalo today likely has no more than 1/64th of that founding Charolais...
Fascinating as usual, N02! However, "cloning" a mammoth (or any species with no extant individuals) is by definition impossible. Also, other potential methods of making mammoths de-extinct appear to be impracticable on several levels. My source for this assertion is this excellent lecture that Dr. Beth Shapiro gave at The Royal Institution: ua-cam.com/video/xO043PSBnKU/v-deo.html. Note that it is 5 years out of date, so it's very possible that you know something I don't. If so, I'd love to see a video about it! :)
You don't want to clone anything that's already an adult due to the oxygen in it. If say the animal was already five years old, it's going to start off at five years old. This is why Dolly died so "young". It's also a bases on why organisms back in the day stopped cloning themselves.
I personally would love to see it for the wonder factor and the scientific breakthrough alone But Human ancestors hunted Mammoth's for their meat, fur, ivory, etc. But they didn't have an advanced technology for animal husbandry So probably the same thing, but we would raise Mammoth's like we do with cows or something, that would be pretty awesome imo. Imagine how strong Mammoth milk would make you 💪
Man imagine.... we’ll there one dinosaurs that show us colour is nodosaurus but imagine if dinosaurs actually show fully skin *pull out me card and smack it 7 time* let me in now or *put out the desert eagle* i break in myself!

I once found a fly in an ice cube. Not as interesting as what you talked about but still cool. Nice vid!
Those cave lion cubs are still so cute, after thousands of years in ice.
yeah
I hope they bring them back to life
I would eat them
Ancient lion cats back to life fuck that
He called them pups when talking about them
This is awesome learning about frozen Ice Age animals and knowing their life appearance and diet.

Ancestral lion

Modern lion. Cave lion
\
American lion
Unless perhaps tigers are related to the ancestral lion

Can't wait for them to find a cave hyena. Those buggers were EVERYWHERE in Ice Age Eurasia, so it's probably only a matter of time.

The fact that the mammouth on the thumbnail had dwemer arrows on his body is very mysterious

Yeah that's not how that works. When you take DNA from something that's five years old the clone would not begin life at five years of age.
It would be highly unlikely to be able to clone or bring back these animals and highly unfair to animals we are loosing today
Imagine how much meat, fur and ivory people could harvest from Mammoth's. I would love for Mammoth's to be brought back for the ivory alone

What is the point of cloning an extinct animal? Selfish and evil
We enslave millions of animals already, what would be so evil about a few more?
