This is a really fair devil's advocate! Like you said: if there are romances, now they can be more tailored to the canon story of the game and will make more sense. I'm actually down for this change of pace, the whole high school romance BS can get old anyway.
so kings don't marry and have children? like the prince (legitimate child) we fight for in the game... the game is good with or without romance. it's just that it seems to lack that little + compared to persona
Well somel previous Atlus titles didn't have romance at all like Digital Devil Saga, Raidouh Kuzunoha games, SMT games and they were amazing and still is. Really interesting what final bond events will look like in this one though.
I'm not much of a story enjoyer when it comes to games, but I do enjoy romance options so its a shame it won't have any, hopefully the gameplay really is good cause at this point that is the only thing I'm hype for. I really like the aesthetic of this game so I want to play it when it releases.
Honestly, after having played most of the way through Persona 5 Royal, and being in a relationship, I find it kinda pointless anyway. I don't know how Persona 4 Golden handles it since I never got that far in the game, and haven't tried Persona 3 Reload (partially since I'm not sure I'd like the game, as well as forcing myself to finish P5 finally), but outside of the specific dating scenes in the game, it basically treats you like you're NOT in a relationship. Sitting around the table and a character comments how no one there is in a relationship despite two people at the table being in one, going to the beach and searching around for girls to hit on after your friend oggles your girlfriend in her bathing suit, she happily throws her arm around his shoulder and makes comments about it and then she wanders off without any mention of you being dating... The game made no effort to change any of the dialogue or scenes depending on who you might be dating, so once you get in a relationship you don't seem to get anything out of it. If that's how Atlus handles relationships in their games, I am fine missing out on it. Now, if there is a canon relationship that develops through the story, that may be different as you may actually get characters acknowledging it's a thing.
yeah, the dating sim section in persona games isn't very good. i don't understand how people can love anything this shallow. sure, you kinda go deep in the other person's reasons behind the way they are, which can be interesting. but it's nothing that follows the story in any meaningful way... canon romances that are part of the story are much more involved and they change the dynamic in the group as the story goes on, i much prefere this way more
Its just for fun to let the weabs pick their "waifu". And it falls in line with the high school setting. But because of Persona's success you started getting other games doing it. No big deal, because again, it's just for fun. You can friendzone all the girls if you wish.
Counter point: you can date a teacher and you have the unique scene of Valentine harem 😂😂😂 I get what you are saying but the fact you can date like 10 Girls at the same time is absolute banger in modern games
As someone who's played all of the persona games i never understood why people play them for the dating sim elements, it's one of the weakest parts of the series, and personally im kind of glad RF is skipping on it to make a more story focussed experience with the connections you make
I disagree, for one a romance in game does not need a dating sim mechanism and still be there think of Witcher games. Romance increases the depth of the experience. I played the game and I think it's missing romance and with it it's missing a dimension I do believe that with a good romance mechanics it would be even a better game.
You're last point is a very good one, they easily could've plopped romance options in like their other games and it would've been a decent selling point. They chose not to, so they must be a good reason for that and I'm honestly even more interested in seeing what they're cooking now
Well Time to wait for the definitive version with romance.
Can't lie I really wish it did, but oh well 😭
Mmm I dunno dude. Dragon Age origins fit romance into a time sensitive plot where you were reuniting the disparate people's of the realm.
Honestly i just lost all interest i had on this game by learning about this.
No waifus I’m finna head out bruh 😂
Yeah, I really liked this video. Especially stringing in the one piece metaphor with both characters having ambitions to be king.
Unironically screaming and crying rn 😭😭😭😭😭 this game is LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE rn 💀💀💀💀😭😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏
Try talking to a real girl
Just get a real girlfriend

DDS had the mc and fmc that it

That one piece comparison actually made me ok with it now haha 😆
Itll still be a decent game but again some points will be lost.
Idk what you are talking about can't wait for the canon sleeping beauty kiss for the prince to fit the fairytale theme /j

They're just a simp
Because it what some people play games for other aspects of a game
Not every game needs a romance the story can still be great without needing more
We dont care.
@@gonzalocachi4329 apparently you care enough to reply to my comment I made two months ago.
@Bwdh23 no, we don't care if it's great without a romance, romance would make it better
I agree not all games need romance, but metaphor having the theme it does not having romance is a deal breaker.
This type of games need it, games like soul games or something like cod and 100 more don't need it but this 100 need it

I'm calling it now, the canon romance will be with the prince (childhood best friends to lovers!?!?!?) hahaha
Nah

Well a king needs an hier so he should just marry one girl from each race and be done with it lol

Thanks a lot for your work !
No romance, no buy.
it better to love everyone than love someone if you can't romance a male character
or ah idk
i love you and all your guys or something.
Rex from xeno2 took it WAY personal
I can do either or. But I do prefer romance.
you want romance? Go play Persona 😆🤣
Why you so hate romance
Ok skip this game.
I want third base in a War Game
I Guess Japan doesnt want any of that even in real Life 😂
I so glad there wont be any of that. I hated going through all that and it being basically necesario to get stronger abilities or powerups.
It’s not necessary at all you can turn all the romance options down and nothing is different
Jrpg without romance is sucks.
You're just a simp
They knew it was getting stale so no
I hope that it will have romance as an option.
Better
WE WON
Oof!
