Thanks so much for this video. I’m about to acquire some Totara in Australia (no idea how the supplier has them!) - very excited for the next 10 years of development
Hey thanks for the video. I've just got some totora bonsai and the information in this video is appreciated. Any ideas where I can get more information on NZ native bonsai please?
Hey James, thanks for getting in touch. I have done other videos on Manuka/ Kanuka and on Pohutukawa on my channel as well. Other than that I usually find it the most helpful to join a local club and go to club meetings and workshops as you will always find people that are willing to share knowledge and their experiences with native bonsai material.
Great to see Bonsai work on NZ native species, I have two Totara airlayers that are doing great since being removed from the host plant . one has a 50mm trunk and the other approx 100mm trunk. I can send you pic's if you like.
@@everydaybonsai I've found Rata Pohutukawa and Manuka so far and just recently found a Nursery that sells alot of NZ natives the tree type not human lol love your work bro keep the vide coming they are very helpful 👌🏽👍🏽
Thanks for sharing so much knowledge about these trees. Exactly what I needed for my own totara
You are very welcome, glad you got something out of it.
Love this, very good :) can you post a follow up mid December this year?
Yes that would be a great thing to do.

Exciting times ahead, keep them well watered.
Hi, will Totara back bud? Thanks in advance
Hi, thanks for getting in touch. Totara back buds easily. Even from old wood and multiple times a year.
@@everydaybonsai great news thanks, I have one that is a bit leggy and foliage only at the top.

Whenever you find one, they are super easy to grow from cuttings as well as air layers.
