Everyone’s talking about beards but anyone notice how accurate the weapons and armour are to the Viking period?
Yes actually, I did. I used to be a viking reenactor some years ago and am always struck by the attention to detail and accuracy in these videos. Amon Amarth are the best band ever too and I have fought in a shield wall myself so I just love this song!

the music video was shot in Poland ... In the stronghold Jomsborg (Wolin). The actors from the music video are historical reenactors from "Drużyna Grodu Trzygłowa".
If I'm not mistaken, the singer has a historically accurate Viking shop online. I think it's called icey veins but I could be wrong.

I listened to this at the gym during my workout.
I mean nothing crazy happened, not like I'm suddenly a Spartan/Viking or anything, but it's a fantastic workout song.

My son and I just stumbled upon this song at bedtime this evening. Also it's no longer bedtime now...
I went to see them in Newark, NJ, with Megadeth, suicidal Tendencies and Metal Church..My friend who is an old school metal head, meaning he is not a death metal fan, was blown away how great Amon Amarth is live. This band changed his entire perspective on othe genre, and he is an accomplished musician, in a hardcore thrash band. Horns up!
P.S. We are both over 50, we saw Metallica warm up for Ozzy in 1986. We have seen a ton of metal concerts. This is one of the best metal bands you can see live. If you get the chance go see them. You will not regret it. 🤘🏼

That might be due to the fact that Johan Hegg actually looks to the Poetic Edda among other sources of actual facts.
I like the TV show Vikings but it always puzzled me that the History Channel did it. That show does have a few things accurate but for the most part they messed a lot of the accuracy up.
@@omenscreamingraven3956 not really. He even fuck a bunch of stuff on that up. For example nowhere in the Poetic Edda was Ragnar and Rolo brothers. In the Poetic Edda they actually talk about the Raid on Paris and Rolo wasn't there nor was Ragnar the one pretty much leading the raid. It was Bjorn who led the raid. It was his idea. They threw out a lot of historical facts and Poetic Edda facts. Still a good show.

I still find it amazing that certain Amon Amarth songs are able to awaken my ancestor's blood, before I'd only felt it when I stepped onto the MMA mats and saw my opponent or when I had to protect my family. The adrenaline pumps and my thoughts are consumed with visions of battling endlessly as I feel the drive to fight, until it ends or my opponent taps out or is broken/put to sleep.
