Content has been phenomenal
Upgraded app and 72v is a total game changer. Plus as someone who has spent a tone of time tuning, it's absolutely worth the time learning. Having someone with the experience helps alot. Now I have 4 separate tunes for various terrains and I absolutely love it.
I dont even have a sting and like watching your videos. Maybe you can do a tutorial on how to install, set up, and tune the KO controller for people who might be interested?
Thanks! We actually already have a couple videos from last fall when I first installed the controller, we may do more in the future as they refine the setup but for now they are pretty accurate 👍
You guys are killing it with the content keep up the good work!!
They'll kill lots of teenage boys with good healthy organs to harvest too! Great channel.
The Talaria Boys are my new favorite i learned so much about these bikes through yall!!
Awesome! Thanks!
Dang, I was wishing the KO would have kicked up the top speed more on the R. So maybe the best thing to get top speed is just the 72V battery upgrade
dont you have to upgrade the controller as well tho when u get a 72v battery? New to ebikes. Just ordered the sting r. Im coming from a 72 bronco xtreme 11 scooter. Thing rips got it up to 65mph on gps, granted perfect wheather full healthy battery flat nice paved road. So i think the sting r wont be comparable to my scoot. Anyways i was thinking getting controller first then save up for 72v battery. So what do i need to do?
Yeah my bronco does 0-50 in 7 seconds. Anyways cant wait for my first bike.
@@YoungWise2011 thats right, you still need to get a new controller and the battery. I was just saying that the controller alone wont do much with the stock battery
@@YoungWise2011yea u do.
I put the Shinko 241's on mine and it doesn't seem to hit the 56mph top speed as much. So now I'm hitting 50-51 on avg at 185 pounds with them on and I am tempted to see the 52 tooth with them to increase power. I like to keep the top speed as high as i can cause I do a lot of road driving lol
Thanks for all your great ideas and content brilliant 👍👍
We look forward to all your UTAH most excellent content!!
Please help we need an upgrade for the MX4 Sting-R LIGHT with tail light KILL switch.
for stealthy riding missions at night and no need for daylight running light days.
Did we miss a vid? GritShift is excellent source for the MX 3 MX 4 is a problem with connectors.
Thank -YOU Tboyz
Hey we are able to wire the tail light to a switch. I’m not sure if we’re planning on making a video for it.
That's dedication for a video! Keep it up guys!
Yet another great video!! I see there is a 48 tooth sprocket available but since you're getting damn close to 44 tooth top speed with waaay more torque with the KO/52 tooth combo, seems like the set up for me... Thanks for more great content and all your hard work!!
Are you guys planning on getting the Talaria X3 Concept bike (TL2500), I know it's lower spec but man, it's cool looking!
Thanks for watching! Yes we are hoping to get our hands in the x3! We’ll have to see what happens
I've actually personally been told by LunaCycle that Talaria is underselling the power of the MX2 (the model name for the X3). It apparently has the exact same power train as the MX3 (minus the belt drive). There's also a video up on UA-cam by someone riding it and testing the top speed and it matches _exactly_ the top speed of the MX3. If this is true, then I'm actually really hyped for its release.
Love your videos! Ur giving me all the information I wanna know, straight to the point
Another great vid. You guys are right on the money about KO. Love my Nano on my MX3
So bro, you have a MX three and you’re running the KO Moto and no problems because I wanna buy one. I wanna upgrade my controller. I don’t know whether to go with KO Moto or the EMBx 9000.?
@@kalvinsmall3843 I do not know KO's status today. I would go with Torp for my next controller. My Nano is still fine tho!
@@kalvinsmall3843 Would buy Torp today. My Nano is still ok tho-
Killing it with the videos
Another Awesome vid! Would be cool if y’all bought diff controllers to compare em all! The ebmx9000. Is amazing, as well as the Gle bac8000!
Yes we are hoping too! Just need to keep saving up the funds
great vid.... keep up the good work!
The hate on KO because their control + motor are expensive and doesn't result in faster than 60 mph comparing to BAC 4000+72v+ stock motor. Most people ride in group rides and they want the top speed of 60 mph+ for city.
You are tripping !
I run Ko , they controller is cheaper than BAC and I get 80mph from they combo just gota gear it right that’s all .
Best app in the industry and best customer service bar none !
@@jayjay6782what setup & gears you running ?
I’d love a video from you guys on setting up and tuning a Ko nano controller. I’m looking at getting one and you guys would make an awesome video about it I already know!
Yes we are working on one but it probably won’t be out for about a month. We are currently backed up with content!
You guys really do very good informative videos. Just found your channel today, subbed. Now i gotta buy one of these dang things! 😅
Keep up the good work
I just purchased the KO Nano and their RS motor. Running the stock surron battery until that battery wears down/out. Just gt it all installed in my surron x.
I discovered and subscribed to your channel about a month ago.
I think that you guys are great! Your videos seem very well thought out and extremely informative.
Your test are thought provoking and your off-road adventures prove that the Talaria Sting R is no street princess.
I hope that the three of you keep up the great work and your channel continues it's success!
I have a question for you. Which among you is the tallest and how tall might that be?
I am six foot - four inches tall at 160 lbs., and wonder if I might be to too tall to fit on one of these bikes comfortably?
Hey thanks joining our journey and for the kind words! We are definitely putting these bikes to the test! I (Lance) am 6’3 185 and fit just fine, doing our seat riser mode made a huge difference and getting taller handle bars of course, other than that we haven’t done peg lowering brackets or actual seat riser kits. Reed and Alex are both about 6 foot and the same weight.
@@Talariaboys Thank you so much for getting back to me with this information!
I used to ride a Sur Ron until it was stolen. I eventually got a WR250R and it’s a phenomenal street bike but a mediocre dirt bike.
I got a YZ250 2 stroke and absolutely love it. But I can’t just ride anywhere anytime low key like a Talaria/Sur Ron.
Heavily considering selling my 2 stroke to fund a Talaria Sting R. You guys make it seem like it would be a fine swap.
Did they take it from your home or outside?
Same shit happened to my surron
You should throw that KO controller on the XXX just for shits and giggles
Now there’s an idea!
you guys are great, I just subbed. Looking at an R model and you got good info, thanks
As a talaria owner, what makes the r faster than last years sting? Does it just pull more current from the bigger battery? Same controller or not? Will the k o nano make a first gen sting close to the R power wise?
The battery is larger and they updated the bms to allow the controller to pull more current, Yes the controller is updated and the bike feels a lot faster and the throttle tune is night and day better than the old bikes. The ko nano on lances bike and old stng battery gets about halfway to the R, running about 6.9kw without cut outs and still actually has a slightly faster top speed than the R because it has no motor rpm limit. We have spent more time since this video came out testing the KO nano on the sting R and we have gotten it dialed in to be amazing! We will probably do another video on it in the future and do some actual riding.
I just installed the ko pro and the ko motor on my talaria mx3. With the 72v ebmx battery it rips! One question, is there a way to keep the functionality of the regen buttons on the eggrider? I love those buttons off-roading.
Nice! You’ve got a sick setup! At the moment no you cannot use the regen bottons on the stock display, I have been told that with the KO display coming out eventually you will be able to do that kind of stuff.
That Nano controller has got a lot of bugs !! The X9000 or BAC 8000 is the way to go rite now ! LOL
What are the deficiencies compared to the x9000 and BAC? I understand that KANO corrected the "problems". Some due to user error?
I thought the Sting R was 8kw stock?
It is
Can you guys link me where to get the 52 tooth sprocket for my Sting R? I don’t want to get the wrong one. Thanks! 🙏
www.warp9racing.com/product/surron-segway-sprocket/
@talariaboys Hey guys.. I’m really having trouble with keeping the front wheel down when I accelerate. I already looked the bike once and it’s really intimidating now when I’m trying to ride in traffic. Would this KO controller solve my problems and be able to slow the torque down? Or do you have any other cheaper ideas?
Yes a controller would allow you to custom tune the torque and throttle response to tame it down, a cheaper method would be a smaller sprocket which limits torque, if you ware running stock 44 tooth I’d try a 40 tooth which would help.
@@Talariaboys man thanks for the advice!! I love your channel man.. you guys are so helpful!!
Sprocket question: how much would this limit the torque? Approximately..
Where do u get all the stickers? Just ordered the sting R. Good content keep pumping put video.
Go hit up sticker fx for a sick graphics kit!
Is 8kw the max the sting R can handle? If not, do ya'll plan to push the power up? Thanks for the great content 💪
We pushed it to 8.5 without issue but above that it would cut out after 8-10 seconds of full throttle.
@@Talariaboys With battery bypassed?
@@YoungWise2011yes otherwise 6.5 I believe
@@Shmack_ur way off
Hey love your guys videos keep up the good work I have a few questions how many amps did you pull from the stock mx4 battery
145 amps was our limit
you guys should do a video about tire’s considering how many miles you guys do. Looks like you guys keep using CST
We do need to do a tire video, we actually don’t like the cst and they are just still on our R because we wanted to quickly wear them out before upgrading. We already have tires sitting in the garage waiting for it.
@@Talariaboys I just passed 1k miles on the rear CST. Looking forward to what you guys choose to use since you guys do a lot of trails and road riding. I’ll be using the kenda trakmaster
U guys need to order a 46T and 48T sprocket i think the the 48T could be the best of both worlds with tork and not alot of loss of speed
Did you measure the current of the standard Talaria R?
Great vids, I've never heard anyone call a sprocket a chain ring? Are you talking about something else?
We are talking about the sprocket, we come from racing mtn bikes and they are called chain rings so we get mixed up sometimes
Hey guys. I’m looking at this KO Nano controller for $699 but they also offer a KO PRO controller for $995. Would you recommend getting the pro and do you think it would help it preform better? Sorry I am new to all of this and have lots of questions lol
Ok thanks so now the question would be is it worth it 😅😅😅
Hey so the only main difference between them is how much power you can actually run, the pro is rated much higher and could run more power than you’d probably ever need, pushing 3-4x what the bike has stock. The Nano has all the same features but can really only pull around 15 kilowatts which is still 2.5 times stock and a ton of power. I got the nano because I’m only every interested in running around 12k because that is still freakin fast! You’ll still need a high end aftermarket battery to run that much anyway. Let me know if you have other questions
Absolutely
I had zero regrets, even on a stock battery you’ll get a lot higher top speed and can tune everything exactly like you want it. Do you like to tinker around and mess with tunes and stuff or are you a just want to plug it in and have it be what it is ready to go?
@@Talariaboys oh. So I will need a aftermarket battery if I get either the Nano or the Pro? Thank you so much for all the support here I really appreciate it.
K o. Moto or embx 9000?
Will this output 12kw with the stock motor and battery with newer firmware like the Nuclear controller does? I would prefer the ko controller if it allows for that additional power stick like the nuclear controller
Wait for our video on the Torp TC500, its the best
Okay, I am looking forward to it. I will hopefully be upgrading my talaria in a couple months and your guys videos really helped me out.@@Talariaboys
What would the stock Sting be like with the R's controller?
It would still be better than the standard controller because the throttle feels smoother but it won’t have all the advantages of more power and the new motor on the sting r actually makes a pretty big difference in how the bike feels
@@Talariaboys Thank you. I saw your latest video on this, great work 👌👏👏👏
Did you guys bypass the battery? Otherwise not much of a difference with controller I heard
No we didn't bypass and we don't recommend ever bypassing. There is still a big difference by adding a controller to a stock battery.
Dude I put the nano on my mx4 and it keeps locking up the back wheel and shutting off when I let off throttle at high speed. Isb there any way you guys could help me?
You need to turn your off throttle regen way down. It’s set to a high number that overloads your battery bms when you let off throttle and it kicks in the regen. I’d go down to maybe a quarter of whatever number it’s set at in the app and go up or down slightly from there as you get used to it.
So on the MX4 do you guys think it would be safe to run the KO upgrade and 52T sprocket on the stock motor and battery for an extended period of time?
Yes the motor is extremely capable, we are running 20kw of power and 72v on the stock motor and are having no issues running it really really hard
Hey guys. Just picked up a KO Pro controller for my MX4. What do you think the best settings would be for a stock motor/battery? Bike also has 18/21 wheels and a 54 tooth sprocket. Will be upgrading to a 72v system in the near future but for now what are your recommendations?
145 amps and 560 phase amps was our power limit with the stock battery. You wont ever overheat the motor at that power. Once you get 72v you can run much higher power and then once your over 18-20KW you'll need to look at an upgraded motor but we have been very happy with it.
@@Talariaboys Thanks. I've got a 72v 42 ah battery on the way. Any suggestions for a tune for that and have you had issues with the factory breaker tripping?
So what are my options for MX-4 R controllers? I'm looking to run stock battery and a 72v for street sessions. any help is appreciated thank you boys for the content!
There are KO controllers, BAC 4000/8000 controllers or the EBMX X-9000, all are decent options at this point, We only have experience with KO for the time being but are hoping to test the other two in the future.
@@Talariaboys ended up installing a x-9000!
Sweet! Alex is thinking about getting one of those as well. Let us know how you like it.
Hey guys. Is there a way to prg. the XXX controller to smooth out the sport mode for street riding? It kind of pulsates in sport mode
There is no way to fix that unfortunately
is the e moto bros bac 4000 compatible with the talaria mx4 and if not will they make one?
It’s only compatible with Surron currently. I have not heard if they are doing a Talaria version but I doubt they will.
Do you know if the 54 tooth will fit with the chain guard or you need to remove it?
We haven’t tried it, I believe it would but would be pretty close. I think 56 up you’d need to remove it.
can you do it on a xxx
From 44 to 52 do you need new chain? Or add links etc?
Yes you’ll need a 110 link chain to run a 52👍 you’ll need to buy a new chain either cut to length already or they all come 120 link and you cut them.
Do you have a used controller you would sell and ship to Canada ?
No, sorry
What's up guys
The hate against KO has been almost entirely driven by one person and a company with a monetary incentive to trash them. One is that UA-cam guy that says they're built cheap, which is obvious being that they're literally the most affordable and readily available controllers on the market in the Pro and the Nano. He also leaves out the Rush, which is priced more akin to the competition, but outperforms it. Also, he makes no claims on performance, because at this point it would be weird to argue that they don't work, since so many people are happy with KOs. And the other is Ebmx, who talked mad shit about KOs reliability (which in a lot of cases was either due to user error or the confusing turning process before the phone app came out) but are now being plagued by reliability issues on their own controller. Classic case of talk shit eat shit lol.
Yep that’s been what I’ve seen, really is disappointing that people act that way. I’ve got no issues so I’m gonna keep running it!
I hate all the chatter regarding controller brands and build quality. It makes the market look like crap and it makes it hard for consumers to go one way or another.
I've seen a few reviews where people said the throttle was either delayed or hung coming off the throttle. Is that just a tuning issue or a faulty unit?
My main use case for a controller upgrade is the throttle feel for the MX3. If there is no throttle hang and the throttle feels good then I'm in for the Nano. TBH, I'd like the throttle to ramp a lot slower than stock.
It’s totally a tuning error! There are a lot of throttle settings you can change and get your throttle exactly how you want, mine is tuned to be way less jumpy than the stock sting.
Yeah watching that YT guy Richard and EBMX play that dirty game is killing me daily !
I run 3 KO setups on my bike , wife’s bike and sons bike , all work amazing all feel amazing and they customer support is beyond amazing like you said .
KO will teach ya how to tune not just tune your controller , Ian from KO is the best he is a machine on the tune front .
How do you guys afford all these sweet toys?!
Hard work💪
collab with electric is better? lol
I hate my KO setup. Absolutely the worst controller upgrade. I went back to stock. Going to sell this crap.
How much would you sell yours for?
Have you tried the customer service tech rep for KO? If not its probably...user error?
Theses guys are confused to whos gonna talk and what to do in front of camera
Hey will a mx3 battery fit in the mx4? And connect?
Yep same size and same connector
