I spent the whole weekend trying to find accommodation for a homeless person. I totally failed and there was zero help for them. Yet here we are giving strangers beds and food and money to spend. We need to start looking after our own people first, this is wrong on every level.
The last homeless person who stayed in our hotel destroyed the room. The illegal immigrants are not the only reason why accommodation for the homeless is difficult to find.

I’m absolutely 100% anti immigration of any kind BUT homeless people most often have a drug , alcohol or social behaviour problem. That is frequently why they are homeless in the first place. I read about a guy who set up an accomodation centre for the homeless and tried to help them sort out their lives . He said he only had a 15% success rate - that is 85 % chose to return to the streets of their own accord.

I don't know why the BBC keeps referring to them as refugees or asylum seekers. I'm sorry if I'm being stupid here or if I sound right wing, but the UNHCR describes refugees as "people fleeing conflict or persecution", and Amnesty International describes an asylum seeker as "a person who has left their country and is seeking protection from persecution and serious human rights violations in another country, but who hasn't yet been legally recognized as a refugee".
These people appear to me to be fleeing France, where there is no conflict or serious persecution. Doubtless they've travelled to France through one or more of a number of other countries where there is also no conflict or serious persecution.
So it would seem to me then that these people are actually not refugees or asylum seekers but people who have chosen to travel to the UK because they believe (maybe or maybe not with justification) that there is an economic advantage to them in doing so. And they've chosen to do that illegally, crossing the busiest shipping lane in the world in an overloaded boat that they're forced to bail out with a piece of Tupperware.
Or maybe I'm wrong and France is an iniquitous warzone and these are middle eastern refugees who have truly leapt from the Syrian frying pan into the French fire, and are thus forced to seek refuge in Britain's green and pleasant lands. And it just happens to be that (by this report) 86-90% of them are men under the age of 35 and the rest are women and there are no children, presumably because the women and children are safe from the 'situation très dangereuse' that exists in France.

If the boat is recorded when it leaves France by our coastguard, and intercepted before it reaches UK soil(this being proof that the individuals came from France) then by definition of where they came from(France) they are not fleeing persecusion, and are therefore illegal immigrants. All the evidence that is needed to send them back to France.
