I'm a dark skinned man who had a very similar experience as T.O. did growing up however I didn't allow it to change my outlook as it pertains to my dating preference. Others groups women are on a mission when they go to college and they will press for the same young men that young black college women pass over. I was amazed the other day when I saw a group of white college girls hanging out at in the Computer Science department. It was clear to me that they were scouting intelligent black men who were majoring in computer science. I told my class that has mostly black women enrolled and the black women said they were not interested in those men. They are boring. So I said please note that life has many challenges there's no redos so do as you please but there will come a day when you may regret your past decisions. This was at a non-PWI.

I am black, and I feel the same way Terrell did. I am a lighter skin black man, and the darker sistas would clown my light skinned self, lol. The black women in elementary school and high school was the same to me, and they were horrible mean to me. White women literally flocked to me in elementary, high school, and in college because I was an college athlete as well. I gave up on the American sistas 25 years ago myself. I could get sistas, but they were always argumentative, combative & uncooperative. They think arguing & fighting is normal behavior. Peace is not in a sista's vocabulary. White women were very cooperative & peaceful, but I didn't want a white woman long term. When I was working overseas, I was planning on running through as many women as I could. Luckily, I was able to find a non-American sista overseas 21 years ago (she approached me) & I canceled those plans.

When I was working overseas, I was planning on running through as many women as I could. From what I've noticed the past 10/15 years at LEAST....women of all races have really gravitated to " dark complexion " black men. It's reflected in movie roles, advertisements,& of coarse... we see it every day in the public arena. The stereotypes outside of dating still exists in terms of racial profiling for example, but as it pertains to relationships women often want (especially WW) the darkest brother they can get.
